Those things, they do not exist. Once you start adding rules to a rule less area it becomes increasingly easy to say the other side/person only won because (insert whiny reason here). The point I am making, do everything you can to win at all times. If they didn't like what you did, [censored] em.

Unless you and the other person specified any 'rules' for your duel, any power you have in your tray is fair game.
Duel? in Zones? I SOMETIMES(rarely to be more accurate) do that myself too, but I'm usually one of the distruptor. =P
There shouldn't really be any kind of duelings in PvP zones, IMO. =/ There's something called Arena for that. =X
It's not like you MUST go to Arena for dueling. You(A) CAN duel with someone(B) in zones, but just don't expect someone else to stay away from/respect the little rule between (A) and (B).
Everything can be done, in zones. Who cares if the guy you're against pops Accolade powers or T9, other than you? =/
I would say "BS!" if who I duel with uses any of those, but would I really care? Not really. xP

here's the reason i agree to "duel" in zones sometimes; every build in the game in i14 can be built to run back to base and not get killed by you (If there were no bases i would never duel). Sometimes i want to kill them so i have to agree to dumb FC rules to kill them. So set up your own arbitrary rules before hand like "hey, we are allowed to use every power we have in our power tray, but you can't go back to base" or something stupid like that. They'll agree and usually you'll get a chance to earn a free PvP IO.
Yea, I'll accept a duel if someone is just so high on their horses that they think the only way I can keep killing them is if I stay on my team. So I go kill them solo to make them shut up, then go back to my team and I resume killing our targets. It's usually some silly Brute who's new to PvP and thinks that his or her softcapped SS/WP is going to be as dominant in PvP as it was in PvE.

There is something to be said on dueling a toon made for zones than dueling a toon made for the arena. That and the accessibility of the arena has made zone pvp my preference.

This. I would do this all time back when I actually had toons viable for PvP, hopefully I'll be able to get my Mind/Fire dom and Elec/WP stalker to 50 by double XP weekend.
Anyways, I seriously loathe lolfiteklubers and duelists in zones. If you want to go have your little jerk circle to show off who has the biggest, go to arena. Honestly, I will not follow your arbitrary rules, stand in one place, not use my hiber, not use phase, not use inspirations, not use my T9, etc. just so I can make it easier for you to beat me.

Two people CAN duel or do fight club sxxt, but don't expect others to follow the rules.
If you want safety for dueling, go to Arena. Dueling in PvP zones is not safe, since there are people like me xP
Hibernate is allowed in duels. Anything basically is but; temp powers, inspirations or leaving the duel area. Tier 9 adds stradegy to the match, and it can balance some sets to meet others. The only reason i duel in zones is because i dont want to have to travel to the arena and because everybody is too lazy to come follow and watch. They need to put Arena Terminals somewhere in a pvp zone. If they did, dueling in a pvp zone wouldn't exist.
As for people who hate dueling in zones, i really can't understand why. Does it bother you that two people over there are fighting? Just because you have the power interupt it doesn't mean you should. I'm not going to push someone over and walk away because i can, because frankly i'm not a jerk. If anything i'd help them fend off the gankers. Why we duel? I want to see if my character, someone i put a lot of work and effort into, can take that guy's character.

Are you Zen_Shadow? Even if you aren't could you please refrain from repping Jusitce. It has had a hard enough time over the years with its pvp image without another fightclub champ to help wreck it.

no i'm not Zen, but i read some of his old posts, and i have to say the man knew what he was talking about. Also, i'm just giving my opinion.
I think it's funny how u can't abide by such simple rules. If 2 guys want to see who's stronger and have a fist fight, one can't pull out a gun, and that's exactly what your trying to do. It's why your not respected. Ever wonder why night widows and arch-mages arn't allowed in tournies for gladiator matches? They want the fight to end, not just smoke grenade eachother for hours. Inspirations, temp powers and leaving the stage would make anybody survive. We turn off the invincible mode you guys are used to so we can really see who's better.

Also, what you quoted me on was just me answering his question. I think it's funny how nobody would tell him and instead just hand him their opinion of dueling in a pvp zone or laugh at him. Life has taught me that the jerks are always wrong. I only came here to help a guy with a question.

I gave the best advice in the thread with the first reply in the thread. And mine is fact not opinion. Made up rules and codes of honor in a video game mean about as much as the tooth fairy. The only rule in pvp zones is the one you get while the timer is going off, prepare to be attacked by other players. Adding anything else is just made up stuff in your head that I could give a **** less about.

The one upside to zone pvp rules is that it allows me to cheat, which is always good fun!
