New Travel pool

Good suggestion.

This would be a nice addition without breaking anything.

[/ QUOTE ]

If the devs do add a new travel power it won't be a watered down version of Superspeed, it will be something new and unique like that swinging or underground movement thing mentioned above.

Fitness isn't a travel power set, it has two powers that enhance/buff other travel powers.

I'd agree having Assemble Team as an alternate choice would be best, but then people would whine that all the travel pools should get alternate options for the tier four power.....can't win.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, what about Grant Fly as an addition to the flight pool?

[/ QUOTE ]

They aren't going to add a 5th power to any travel power pool.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why? It helps to give an explanation instead of just stating you opinion as fact.

Being dismissive isn't going to convince the devs to change their minds and add new powers to ancillary powersets.

Being dismissive of what? You said the Devs won't add a 5th power to travel pools....I just asked why. They added a 5th power to epic pools. they've done alot of things in the past year that weren't expected. I'm just curious if you had a persoanl sit down with Castle or something? What makes you so sure?

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, the only thing we've heard about new travel powers is that they had planned some more, but didn't follow through, not that they aren't making anymore.

Theres a huge difference between planned more travel powers and expanding pre-existing travel powers, and they haven't said anything to indicate they were thinking of doing the latter.

Adding the 5th power to APPs and PPPs is vastly different than adding a 5th power to the power pools simply because every AT gets access to all of the same power pools whereas every AT gets different APP/PPPs. Changing an APP or PPP is significantly less complex than changing a power pool (or adding one) simply because there are fewer things it's linked to, which is probably one of the big reasons why they've never added a power pool. Adding or changing a power pool would require checking its performance for all ATs while simultaneously using different amounts of other power pool choices in order to make sure that it's not giving too many additional increases in power.

This is one of the big reasons I don't like your power pool suggestion: you may have based it roughly off of the leaping pool, but you have to remember that it could be used along side it. Combat Jumping is already one of the best pool powers in the game (dirt cheap and great defense, plus excellent combat mobility and low tier mez protection and resistance). You'd be giving another one to everyone else along with a quite easily overpowered tier 4 power.

They can easilt make it so taking Combat Jumping greys out my suggested toggle and vice versa so you can only take one or the other. Not a big deal really.

As far as adding new travel powers in general, I think stating that they won't be adding a 5th power to existing power pools just because they haven't previously mentioned it is seriously flawed.

Personally if they add new travel powers I think the best way would be to just add a new pool called "Travel" They could add as many travel powers in it as they want to. No other type of powers, just travel. Set iy up so you still have to take a tier one power from one of the existing travel pools to unlock this ne Travel pool, and your set.

I think the underground "mole" travel could be done, my idea could obviously be done, a customizable platform you stand on could probably be done. I doubt very much we'll ever see swinging like spider man or vehicles, but there are plent of travel ideas that would be quality additions to this game.

Superspeed has Flurry, Flight has Air Superiority, and Leaping has Jump kick. I gave my pool a simple low damage punch to try and follow that setup.

[/ QUOTE ]

Note how each of those actually ties into the power pool somehow? Flurry is a barrage of super fast punches. Sounds like Super Speed to me. Air Superiority? Um, duh. This is completely obvious. Of course a flier should have this attack. And Jump Kick? Well, the pool is called friggin Jumping. How does a Jump Kick not fit in?

Sorry, but adding an attack just for the sake of having an attack is not the way it works.

As for the rest of your comments. It makes no difference. This is not a NEW travel pool. It's just a mishmash of the other pools slammed together in a way that you would like to be able to select them. You can get all of the powers you suggested already in one way or another. Mixing up and combining old powers does not equal new powers.

If you want to suggest a new travel pool you should come up with something that would actually be new.

Seriously? My suggested Travel pool is all about being super athletic. It's about running faster and jumping higher than normal folks can. Reacting quicker and hitting harder. How does a quick disorienting uppercut not go with that?

If you think my idea stinks...fine, but don't just look for things to pick apart. Especially if you have to make things up. You've stated your displeasure a few times now. I get that you don't like my idea and feel it offers nothing new or interesting....so mission accomplished....I get it...you can move on now.

Of course, that not mentioning the fact that the Teleportaion Power Pool doesn't even have a damaging attack in it.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

I believe the set you're looking for already exists. It's called "Fitness".

But but but Fitness is too slow and doesn't jump far enough.

Why do all these [censored] hover over the suggestion forum? I had an idea, some of you think it's stupid, you let it be known....now get a life and move along. Seriously what is wrong with you people? You just keep repeating the same thing over and over. I UNDERSTAND YOUR OPINION and I don't need you to post ten more times to confirm you don't like it.

I didn't voice my opinion. I summarized YOUR opinion sarcastically. You posted earlier that Fitness was too slow, and didn't jump far enough.

[ QUOTE ]
The travel power in my OP would give you around 150% boost to run speed. About twice as fast as Swift+Sprint, and half of Super Speed. . . .

My travel power would give you around 5005% boost to height and 175% boost to jump speed.

[/ QUOTE ]

I guess your idea doesn't sound so great when you see someone else saying it.

Then do one of two things to stop us from pointing out the flaws in your ideas: quite posting such low quality and largely unoriginal ideas and stop necroposting asking for more input when we do let the topic die.

Here's a question: What stops you from taking SJ and just NEVER using it to its full potential? It would LOOK and FEEL like what you are proposing (at least in my head it does), and it would not require any Dev time.

I think I raised a good question here... that everyone has ignored.

Sorry, I actually thought I had responded to you but proboably got sidetracked defedning myself. The truth is your idea is exactly what I do right now. It kinda works, and will likely be the best option I get, but when your jump speed is twice as fast as your run speed it kinda ruins the flow so to speak. You get this stop/go momentum thing going on.

I'm in for the OP's new power pool.

Im just curious though, which is why I quoted you, where is the theme with fly in air superiority?
Flurry you puch super fast, jump kick is a kick, but you don't launch into the air for air superiority, nor do you launch your foe upwards ala KO Blow?

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

You smash people and cause anyone flying to fall to the ground....it's a stretch, but there you have it.

It allows you, as a flier, to knock other fliers out of the sky. Seems to fit thematically, doesn't it? Yeah, it can be used on the ground too, but its primary function is to knock enemies out of the sky.
