Actually you just reminded me of the furor that used to develop each time Part_Troll would post one of his PUG threads back in his heyday. There were people who hated that he was sullying their forums with his frivolous posts so much that they would make sure to post their disapproval and lack of interest in every one of his threads. Sometimes even posting more than those claiming to love his stories, all the while oblivious to the irony.
Yeah, Excession loves his one-star bandit A lot of the more out-spoken, less sensitive posters developed "fanclubs" like that. I remember Dr. Zeus was hounded by the same bunch of people every time he posted, and even Bad Influence occasionally spawns that, herself. Personally, having gone down this road and found the destination unappealing, I'm not a big fan of posting for the sole purpose of "putting someone in his place."

I love Part_Troll stories.
Always amusingly written, even when he's way over judgemental or even flat-out wrong. They still can make me smile.
Usually, PK's (to bring this part-way back to OP) posts have a similar amusement value, but Part_Troll's are an acquired taste, I guess.

There's definately a cult of personality that takes place with certain posters. I don't think I'm one of them, but I've watched it happen a number of times.
The only time I ever "put someone in his place" is if they're going after someone I like and consider a friend and doing a good job of tearing them up, then I'll jump in and present myself as a target.
