Here is Foo's Wander in present time
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...CoH/Wander.jpg

The Wander has been around since before recorded time. He has shaped history while managing to stay out of the public eye. In a time when being "different" was as good as being dead he managed to conceal himself till a time when more tolerance would ensure his peace. With most immortals the masses wish to capture and dissect them in order to condem and secertly share in their curse. To avoid this he kept his face a mystery. Here is how he looked in ancient times, somewhere between now and the Dawn of Man.

That's a very cool outfit. It reminds me of the Persian Immortals in 300 for some reason, which works well, given his bio...

I'm still working on your ancient, Asian Frankenstein's monster. I will post later!

Interesting concept. I've been wanting a fur lined cloak for Herc for quite some time - guess I'll have to continue cloakless until Jay decides to add that texture...

I was paired with Red_Valkyrja, who asked me to do a costume for Molech Ivory, their main villain.

Here's some background info for her:

Molech Ivory came to Earth hunting for her mortal enemy, the last known survivor of his race.

Their two races had been at war with each other for millennia, solar systems apart, raining destruction on each others fleets and home worlds until the surface of both were uninhabitable. Molech had been tracking her enemy from one solar system to the next, it seemed that they were in search of a new, unspoiled homeworld.

Just as her ship was closing in on his, there was a pinprick flash in the blackness of space, that quickly bloomed. Telemetry from her ship indicated a vortex of energy, that originated from her homeworld and expanded so quickly that in the few seconds it took for her data to update, the entire system in which her homeworld resided was consumed. By the next upload of data, her enemy's own system had been consumed, in the next it had already traveled half way to their own position.

When his ship 'jumped' she followed in his wake. The approaching maelstrom affected their travel, even within hyper. By the time they exited they were both hurtling through the atmosphere of an unknown planet. Too worried about her own survival, she lost track of him ship as they plummeted, escaping just before her ship impacted the surface of an ocean with such force that it literally disintegrated.

She has hunted for him ever since.

The theme we got was "modern", and I figured if Molech ever catches up to her prey, she could use a little armor to give her an edge.

Here's another take, a little more, I dunno, official? Formal?

Anyway, I love the concept, and I had fun designing Molech a new costume. Hope you like them!

I was paired up with Bayani. He sent me info on his villain, Salarin. Here are the pics sent. headshot. full body and his bio info.

Reynaldo Gaudiel was an engineer for the Filipino government, specializing in agricultural technology until his weather-controlling prototype rendered over 20% of Filipino farmland unfertile. He left the Philippines in disgrace and moved to the United States, where Crey Industries hired him to design new armor suits for security deployment. His designs were initially successful, but the project was eventually shut down by the hero known as Bayani. In order to cover up the mess, Crey decided to eliminate all project members and targetted Reynaldo for assassination. Reynaldo, ever the survivor, took several of the suits for himself and vanished to the Rogue Isles to escape both the law and Crey. He now works as a mercenary, selling his services to the highest bidder.

And now, for my take. The theme was 'classic' so I tried to make him into a golden age character, but since I've never really been good with all that 'age' stuff he is probably more a mix of the gold and silver ages, but hopefully still fitting the 'classic' image.

First the bio. Since I went for a golden age look I figured I would transport the character back into the golden age timeframe and see how different circumstances could lead to a completely diffeernt result.

Reynaldo Gaudiel was an engineer for the Filipino government, specializing in agricultural technology until it became obvious the tensions prior to WW2 would plunge the planet into conflict. He turned his technical prowess toward ways of aiding the Phillippine military, as he had suspected Japan would use any such conflict as an excuse to aggressively expand it's empire across many coveted areas. The attack happened much sooner than he had expected and he was forced to take his research and go into hiding during the Japanese occupation. Unable to aid the military he instead experimented with ways of augmenting himself. The result was a powersuit that gave him special abilities, enabling him to take the fight to the enemy. He was instrumental in finally driving the invaders out and was proclaimed a national hero by the Philippine government.

And the pic.

I really like your costume except for the helmet, even though I get the concept. I think it would work better if he didn't have the mask to hide his "classic" Filipino features, after all this isn't Captain Generic Asian...

I did take long looks at both the technis and diablo mask options, but I've always been of the mind that a hero needs to protect his/her identity in order to protect loved ones and relations, so it came down to the mask or blast goggles. I went with the mask because I thought the earpieces made the cyborg hat look more old fashioned in a Flash Gordon sort of way, and with them being in the same slot as the goggles I couldn't use both.

Okay my worst fear happened. TheMaskedShrike asked me to change.... The Masked Shrike!!! I think that is one of the best and most thought out toons I've seen. So I know I cannot improve on it so I decided to make her WWII counter part.

Basically I based her on this young lady, and this internet picture of a Nazi Pilot's uniform.

Bio - Hanna Reitsch was always fascinated with flying. From an early age she studied anything that flew - birds, bugs, hot air balloons etc. She promised herself that one day she would fly.
When Hitler became leader of the Nazi Party in 1921 Hanna knew this was her chance. She persuaded her way into the Nazi military and became the first female Nazi pilot. She also joined in a secret operations known as the 5th Column. As a member of this clandestine group, Hanna was submitted to many experiments which, so she was told, would make her a better pilot...the best pilot.

In a particularly nasty dog fight in 1940 Hanna was shot down. Her plane careened towards the Earth. Hanna refused to die, refused that she had been bested in battle, refused to allow the Allies to win that easily. Hanna jumped from the plane knowing she had no parachute. To her amazement she remained floating in the air.
Her amazement turned to anger and she hurled herself after the Ally scum that had just shot her down. As she neared the plane she felt invincible and shot through the entire plane as if it were made of paper. From that day on she became known to all Allied pilots as The Masked Shreitsch.

Hope I did The Masked Shrike some justice.

I was paired up with mousedroid with the theme of Futuristic.

The character they sent for me to use was The Erin Brand, I must confess this gave me a bit of trouble seeing how the character is already highly tech based, but I’m pretty happy with the result I came up with. Hopefully mousedroid will be too!

P.S. I really like the direction you took with Hubba Bubbles costume mousedroid.

The Erin Brand

Bio:
Brigid Mackin was born in Ireland on February 2, 1908. In 1913 her parents, grandfather and younger sister emigrated to the US. On her 18th birthday, Brigid's grandfather died and unbeknowst to her at the time, she inherited his mystical longevity - she has only aged about 8 years since then. On Brigid's 100th birthday she inherited something else - her grandfather's supernatural strength and his magical longsword - the Emerald Blade.

Brigid's ancestors had long been the protectors of Ireland, and her grandfather was in fact well over 600 years old when he died. Rather than return to Ireland, Brigid decided to remain in her adopted home - Paragon City - and use her powers to protect the entire world. She adopted the name The Erin Brand, meaning The Sword of Ireland, to honor her heritage.

Wow, that's swell! Thank you so much! You're totally psychic, by the way. I made Shrike's Praetorian counterpart based on Hannah Reitsch and she looked a LOT like that. Great choice on the colors, the face and the overall look. And wonderful work on the bio--great concept, well written!

And thanks for the kind words

I'll get on my assignment as soon as I can get CoH up and running on my laptop, or my PC gets back from the shop. Hopefully tomorrow!

In the year 2000!

Sorry, I just wanted to yell that out since I got the futuristic theme >_>

So, I was paired up with Johnnykat, and I got to work on his character Midknighter.

Tiny reference shots are tiny!

[ QUOTE ]
Here is MidKnighters bio:

NAME: Maximus Killgore
AGE: Unknown
HEIGHT: 6' 1"
BACKGROUND: MidKnighter's past is shrouded in mystery. For one, his memory is fragmented and doesn't know much about his life. He has memories of times and events that happened over 100 years ago. He recalls being part of the Carnival of Shadows. He has come across old Skull gangleaders that say they remember seeing him fight the Hellions back in the day. With the exception of the last 10 years, his past is more or less a mystery. Whether he was a Death Harlequin or a Bone Daddy, all that matters now is that he is now the MidKnighter, the dark avenger of Paragon City.

He is a Dark Melee/Regen Scrapper btw.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, I had to squint really hard, but I think I got the gist of the theme. Black/Red/White with skulls, and a splash of regen green. I had a difficult time deciding which futuristic theme to go with. At first, I really wanted to do a Planet of the Apes future, but that would pretty much have him in a torn battle kilt, and not much else >_>

And I wanted to stay away from power armor, so instead, I chose cybernetics!

Kind of hazy, but at least you can see details in the black.

The way I saw it, even with his dark powers sustaining him, there were still drawbacks. For example, they might only be able to awaken him for brief durations, every century or so, to take part in important events, and battles. And the powers didn't always keep him in one piece, just as there were gaps in his memories, now and then, the powers couldn't maintain parts of his body.

The solution? Science! Wandering through history, as medical science advanced, it began to resemble magic more and more. And as the world changed, and evolved, so did his body, and powers.

What has science done?!

Actually, I didn't have a dark/regen model, so my dark/shield scrapper The Otherknight took up the cause ; ) I thought the dark shield went well with the theme. No reason people's powers cannot change in the future >_>

Feel the burning rage of my skull!

Souls! I has them!

Pimp slap from the beyond!

Muh, so I had some fun with this. I was going to rewrite the bio, but I have been having difficulty concentrating on coherent sentences. I have kittens ^_^

I like it a lot, RedFireFox, thanks! As I mentioned, I have a "future" version of Erin Brand I'm not happy with, so I will be making slight changes to your version of the costume to use as her future duds. For example, she loses her sword arm in the Second Rikti War in..., well I can't tell you when it occurs, but she gets a cybernetic right arm shortly after that.

Thanks again, and I'm glad you liked my take on H.B.!

Drum rolls play over the loud speakers as a light peppy melody any two year could enjoy and any fifty year old could be annoyed by over comes it. Lights flash across the standard hollywood stage and the crowd in risers behind the camera applaud. A man hops from a back door into the streaming hues meant to dazzle the viewers while raising his hands.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Last week we saw an unprecedented event as Luara Crawford took home ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!"

The crowd cheered as a sign above head flashed [Go Nuts].

The host smiled a thousand dollar grin of white as he turned to his contestant, "And back again, risking it all, she's come to double or nothing against two new opponents looking for their chance at big influence in the city of her---"

And explosion rips through the back wall of the sound stage and sends the three contestants flying through the air. The host falls to his face as a toxin pours through the hole and begins overwhelming the audience. A second explosion tears down more of the ceiling and the studio begins collapsing. Outside swarms of council hover bots stream through hallways looking for their target. In the near distance the sounds of council boots storm the building...

Arthur Jefferson rolled in his bed and slipped his feet off the side as he sat up. It'd been a year since the incident happened that changed his life forever, and took innocent people that would never come back. He'd moved to a mirror, running a hand through the blue locks that now sprouted and the dark skin that covered his body. Buried deep within him existed an ongoing rage that was fueling new powers he'd been given that day.

Pink sparks lit across his eyes pouring unrelenting energy when the last piece of his uniform came into place; a hat snugly fit to his head and a jester's mask to hide his identity. Cracking a knuckle he was ready for the next wave against the Council. General Knowledge was coming to bring a new lesson to the streets.

ZOMG!

This is what G.K. sent me originally:

Bio: Arthur Jefferson was an ordinary game show host until the day the council set off a biolgical bomb in his studio killing almost everyone except him and several superheroes present. Arthur's life however was changed. His family was dead and he had been mutated. His skin was turned burgundy, his hair blue, and his ears pointed. He somehow still kept some humor though vowed to stop people from suffering as he did. He then set forth on a superhero quest as General Knowledge.
