What kind of server is Champion?

I bought CoV when it came out and randomly made a few villains on Champion, played for three months and quit. I came back a year ago and I'm getting much more into the game, but I'm finding Champion to be a very empty looking server.

Is there anyone out there? I have a lot of trouble finding teams...

What kind of players are mostly on this server? Am I just missing the crowds?

Redside is notoriously vacant on Champion, but we have a strong Blueside.

On a side-note, we're the Community Drama Server.

Redside on Champ is a little sparse, but theres a pulse still. Couple of static squads, lots of ITFs, and red-side Hami's starting soon (tm).

Lots more action blueside.

Yeah, pretty much the only action going on redside on Champion is farms in Cap au Diable and Grandville, sad to say.

We do have monthly redside Hamidon raids, and a bi-weekly Strike Force Sunday.

So you're all basically saying that the fully functional SG base I've manage to set up is largely going to remain solely occupied by myself and my alts?

And that I'm going to be mostly without teammates unless I'm doing the endgame raids?

Well... yes, for the most part. Part of the problem i think comes down to that since no one plays redside on Champion no one plays redside on Champion; it's sort of a feedback loop. Redside used to be quite active on Champion, with lots of very active and entertaining SG's. Actually, it seems to me that redside population has declined on most servers.

The real problem is figuring out how to counter the decline. My power of making silly and/or snarky comments isn't very effective here, any other ideas?

I got a Brute on Champion Redside, so the veritable lack o' people isn't scarin' me away.

Unfortunately, that is the case, yes. Most of the redside players on Champion fled to the Freedom and Infinity servers when server transfers went live. If it makes you feel any better, my villain group with a large and fully equipped base is pretty much just me and my alts as well.

Might want to throw your VG in the Champion SG/VG List thread, if you're serious about advertisement.

I dunno if I am. Maybe I'll just leave my villains to gather dust and start fresh on a higher population server, thus exacerbating the problem further.

You guys think things would change when Going Rogue hits? Would the much of the active blueside switch over?

I can't speak for the server, but I know that the three heroes I have on Champion will be moving redside as soon as the opportunity presents itself. I much prefer redside in general. Less zones, and the story is more linear.

I know of at least two of my characters won't be transferrin' to Redside when GR goes live. As for the others, it's unlikely. Here's to hopin' for the Exemplar Hero...

I still see redside activity, but it seems mostly regulated to SG teams. You may also want to consider putting your characters into an active SG, or at least forming a coalition.

To find teams, I recommend joining a large global channel. Those seem to work for most people.

Funny, those are pretty much the same reasons that I prefer blueside. More zones, more to do, more choice in content/non-linear stories. And, of course, the higher blue population is nice but I still end up soloing a lot.

I play my villains quite a lot so feel free to look me up.

There's a few of us who are pretty exclusively red, like me. I've never had real teaming problems, then again, I do solo a lot.

Look me up too--red side is sparse on Champ, but we can change that to a degree just by...well, playing.

Some nights there are so many Vills in RV that you can't see Atlas for all the red graphic effects flying about. :-)

Red-side is is not dead.
I'm vigilantly playing my Brute every chance I get.
...
But, it's hard to get a team, so I'm often solo.
I never get to team with the cool kids.

I am playing redside a lot these days. I am always down to help with whatever or just do some regular teams.

I don't actually play much, unless by request.

However, when I am on, it is on Villains .. by a market.

Catching me on blue is .. well, I just don't care for blue.
