Why is my FIRE/FIRE garbage?

Hey guys,

I was just looking for some answers. Why does my Fire/Fire tanker suck? He cant live in a mob of level 50's attacking him without using a couple inspirations and his main reason, farming demons, he also sucks at this. My END gets drains in a matter of seconds when im farming demons and i take so long to kill them. He takes about 1:20 to killa map of demons in PI on a 6 spawn. Could i please get some answers to this because this is my only level 50, I have invested over 140 hours into this toon and over 25 million influence and I hope that he can actually be good, because he sucks right now and i don't know why. Please, please, please

This is my build I got feedback online that it would be awsome, but I am not seeing this. As you can see it is frakenslotted because i was poor at the time. but now i have around 100million influence and I am willing to spend it all to make him good.

a...scorch is crazy minor damage..get rid of it.

b..f.e. and b.u. are underslotted..fire is the highest damage output. these two together are crazy. make it happen

c...your slotting is all over the place.i cant tell what you were going for..

d..stamina ...3 slot it.

e..dump rise of the phoenix..aint nothing but eye candy.

f..super jump 3 slotted?..waste of 2 slots.


g..combat jump is WAY over slotted.

h...demons are fire based..your a "fire" tank....stop doing demons and do freakshow. they herd better,faster and rez for more spawns.

i...drop acro and get i.o kb protection.

j...pick up tough and weave

k...go hunt kill freaks


now about the farming and end recov..there are sooooo many recovery bonus's in i.o sets..if you plan on farming go with a set plan for your tank

i went with recov and recharge along with some acc.

almost everything has recov bonus's so look around..they will cost and if you get purples youll be all kinds of set.i did so well on mine that i was able to drop conserve power...then later on..i also dropped consume ..havent run outta end yet.

coldmed, i have a couple questions...what is f.e and b.u and what is acro? thanks for your response though...i will especially do the freaks do they still drop purples regulary like how many a farm? i really want to be rich/.

f.e = fiery embrace

b.u. = build up

acro = acrobactics


and yes more spawns and more rezzers = more influnce and more xp. i spent and made billions thanks to my fire tank

purples will drop..not in an a.e. mish but regular freak mish..you can get one with unai. serach 1st deminsion mish.

run them over on invinc setting with 6 people and major mobs and no bosses. run right through them all.

what coldmed says and ...

I noticed most of your attacks are 15-30% over ED. Get rid of some lost ED damage and get endurance reduction in there.

plus, you already have 4 slots for armor/shields.

Try impervium (4 slotted) and ancients (4 slotted). You'll get teh same endurance reduction for the shields, and some very nice +end/+rec bonuses.


50 Tanks: Invul/ss, Fire/ice/fire, Ice/em, Stone/fire
WP/Stone, dark/dark, shld/mace

50 Other: WS, SS/dark/sc brute, BS/Regen/WM scrpr, fire/fire/force blaster, rad/kin corr, mind/rad ctrl, ill/storm cntrl

Some of your advice is terrible, really terrible. Most of my toons have their travel power three slotted. The rest have it one slotted. I can easily tell the difference between the slotting.

Build Up and Fiery Embrace aren't underslotted. Adding one more slot to each of them would only add a few more seconds. The same could be easily said for Stamina too.

Weave is pretty much a waste, IMO, on a Fire Tank unless that said Tank is building for defense.

Lastly, I wouldn't recommend dropping Consume. I think it's a great power at times you need it. Ya, it requires accuracy enhancements, but its radius is amazing and I love it on my Fire/Fire Scrapper.

he wants a farm build..which ive had since issue 2.

me and my 23 lvl 50s says different..ive made over 20 billion dollars as well.and not from the market..flippers are nubs with bad toons that cant farm.

hell i spent over 2 billion yesteday out of spite for some nub who didnt even think i HAD a fire tank just to prove a point

i can see where my advice would make wary..i mean who wants that many 50s AND that much money..but hey..go for it.

oh btw..i wouldnt drop consume either..unless you got perma end like i do..then consume is worthless

fire tanks dont have DEFENSe powers to use these things..therefore its not about the defense..its about slotting for the unqiues..course since you most likely dont know that you clearly are misinformed .

3 slotting your travel on tanks is dumb and tanks dont have the luxury of wasting on such trash by having 24% more jump in super jump..no thanks

If you keep RotP, frankenslot it to save slots for other powers. For example, Numina Heal/Rech, Numina Heal, Efficacy Adaptor EndMod/Rech, Efficacy Adaptor EndMod. I know people say to skip it, but I'm always a fan of a self-rez for convenience. As others said, replace Acro with a couple Steadfasts (which are cheaper than Karmas). Tough is a good choice to go for, and Boxing is decent. If you're running into end problems, a pair of Impervium Armor provides 2.5% recovery bonus (though is a touch on the expensive side, having just bought a few for my Dark Armor tanker).

It also provides psi defense and resistance at 3 and 6, respectively, helping plug up that hole in Fiery Aura's defenses.

A nub is a small protrusion from an object.
A noob is one who doesn't know anything about a game he's been playing long enough to know better, especially if he won't admit it. Also, it is very common for noobs to call other more knowledgeable players noobs (think about it).

Your asking the very same question that was asked back in the I5 days before fire tanks got Burn. And later on when they decided to nerf burn. You can't expect crazy survivability with one of the more known gimped AT's. Typical advice; get tough and weave, and slot healing flames with recharge. I myself never understood how a person who controls fire can even get damaged ,but hey as Positron said "Its the most offensive of the tanker sets"....therefore its weakness is somehow justified by its "power". Thats ok I'll skip on the kool aid, but I digress.

Are you still at it Coldmed? When are you going to learn your not cool because you have 23 level 50's and a 2 billion inf Fire tank? To me and most people who have jobs and girlfriends, you would be cool if you had 5 level 50's a 100 mil fire/fire tank that could tank anything in the game and a real life.

You know your really digging yourself a hole here. When I offered advice I was offering how to make a decent fire/fire with limited inf, sure it had Multi's and I had to over slot shields at the cost of BU/ FE slotting. But that’s what people who play 1 or 2 hours a day want, something they can make with limited money and still feel like a hero. Not some super pharming uber AE build that can kill 100000000000000 freaks meows.

You on the other hand need to comment on everyone’s build, saying everyone else is crap. Spouting your epeen PvP purples and putting all the new players down by calling them nubs . If you need to compensate maybe try doing something really impressive and get 700 content badges on one of your 23 characters.

Hell I don't have that! 343 for me because I do have a life . 700 content badges tell us he actually plays all of the game and not farm the the same map 500 times a day like in d2.

life,girlfriend yadda yadda...after being in this game for 5 years you should have all this already. and yes i have a life.full time job ,a home and a woman..thanks for thinking like 12 year olds though.

oh and my fire tank hs over 600 badges..why all my toons would want all the badges is just dumb.

grow up and take your own advice..and dont be mad at people who have more then you. its clear you have issues with that.

I too would drop weave. Whatever defense IOs you need can simply be slotted in Combat Jumping. While true you can take both and double the effect, I believe the extra power pick could be used for something more.

Just my 2 cents.
