I haven't attempted to solo Numina yet, but I doubt it would be too difficult. Just annoying because of the zone hopping.

I do Posi 3 people to start I done it for 3 on my dm/sr but it was a little more brutal than 2 people
Now I have a fire/mind at 31 I been using which works better but I am thinking my arch/dev may do better with blazing arrow and still have aoe with fist full and explosive

Yeah when I did Posi I actually switched to my roommates Arch/MM about three quarters way and it went a lot smoother for me.
I predominantly do Posi, but am happy to run any of them

I'm very fond of soloing the ITF. Cool boss fights, great maps, challenging.
Granted, it's not efficient for merit farming !
The only TF I ever soloed was Posi I got my friend to join the team then a filler started it kicked and thanked the filler and my friend then logged his toon off. It only took 1hr 53 minutes. Build was fire/devices. Have a stealth Io slotted in SS and cloaking device with the power of fire and its pretty easy.

I solo Posi when I need TF Commander on a character. Other than that, I don't bother with it.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

[/ QUOTE ] I personally found them easiest for my DM/SR scrapper. In general I think Positron is soloed more often because of the lack of AV. I found it difficult because of endurance issues and my defense isn't very high at that level.
Most of my enhancements in my build are level 33, so I keep most of my set bonuses for Citadel. I firmly believe I could solo it spawned for six people(I've done a couple missions in the Hess TF that way). YMMV.
edit: Also for something like this I consider Shadow Maul a must have power.
Positron's TF isn't particularly good for scrappers, because they usually lose so much to the auto-exemp. Blasters are probably better for it, as firepower at range usually wins the day, particularly against all those Vahzilok. My best toon at soloing Posi, back when I was into that, was a Peacebringer, though I've heard that purpled out Fire blasters were even better.
The few times I solo'd Posi with a scrapper, I found myself wishing I was running a different toon. I haven't tried any of the other 'real' tfs with a scrap. Not sure any of mine could solo the final AVs, though I haven't actually tried.
Hmm... wonder if my BS/SD would be up to it?...
I solo the Ouro TF's all the time on my Fire/Regen Scrapper. Does that count?

[/ QUOTE ] FWIW, I load up on inspirations before the final mission. I solo the task forces for merits, not challenge. With inspirations the AVs are easy.

Doesn't numina's TF have a giant monster in it?
It's scaled down to AV level in the TF.

It's actually a "Monster" which is actually stronger than an AV. AV is balanced around a 6 person team whereas Monster is balanced around an 8 man team. Because of this, Jurassik from the Numina TF is actually slightly harder than if he were an AV. The Crystal Titan and a number of other ginormous enemies that spawn in late game missions are Monster rank rather than AV.
I found that an ill/rad troller did very well for soloing Posi. For about 2 weeks, I soloed Posi every night to get enough merits to buy 5 imp armor resist Psi recipes.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Spawn size is based on the number of people on the team , logged on or logged off.
For example to get Posi set for two, you have your character, a character who logs off, then a filler who joins then quits the TF after it is going.
Two is the minimum number of people a TF will spawn for now.

The mobs scale down when people quit the team. They don't scale down when someone logs off anymore. And the lowest they will scale down to is the minimum start requirements. They did this to stop soft loading in tree specs and defeat all missions.

Huh. I know why they did it(Guilty, I admit) but I could have swore they had made it so if the team fell below the required number, it disbanded. Must be losing it.
Maybe now I'll finally be able to get some merits if I can solo them on my own time. 
For a while (maybe 4-6weeks) it would drop below the minimum required to start it, as a qucik fix, whilst they got the programming in for the current set-up

How do you solo task forces? I tried today, after managing to get everyone to the zone to get a Citadel task force. Which is annoying enough to have to bug people. Once i kicked everyone it just dropped the mission.
I need this last task force for my Task Force Commander, but i guess ill never get it. I don't have 4 hours to spend doing a task force with random people, if i can do it alone i can take my time. I guess theres just nothing left to do at level 50
