Hope everyone had a good time tonight. We had even more people than last time and several more matches. I had a lot of fun and it seemed like everyone else did as well.
I think everyone is enjoying the structured, yet casual atmosphere, but I am almost afraid that when the scheduled ranking stage of the event kicks in that the fun will stop for a lot of people. So, here is an idea that I have been toying around with....what if season 1 was just about people developing their skills, meeting other PvPers and just having fun PvPing? A couple people have already mentioned that they would like it that way, but I would like some feedback from the rest of you. This event is for you Triumph, so let me know what you think.
Also, I know a couple of groups out there have mentioned interest in delving into PvP. This event really is a great opportunity. You don't even have to PvP. You can just show up and watch the matches and see if it's for you.

I'm working on some builds that Twiz and Soto have put together for me. I might bring one of those next week, but I'm not sure what time I'm leaving to go out of town.
Thanks for putting these on. I'd like to at least observe them, if not participate.
I think if it's maintained on a regular basis and kept with the same casual environment it'll defiantly grow pvp on triumph.
As for the idea of not having a rankings tournament I disagree. Even pre-season football sill keeps records. However, maybe season 1 should be alittle longer than other seasons to help people get in more practice.
If I were to think of how to improve the event I would suggest we try to find a balance between vets practicing and new people practicing. Even in my own SG it was very hard for us to find a balance between testing combos out yet incorporating everyone. I felt like we left some people out to dry. Vetran PvPers need to at least take one or two rounds by calling out in broadcast that they're forming a team and people without a team or new to pvp are welcomed instead of 3 vets always forming. A PuG pvp team needs a vet on the team to show the new people how targeting works, also give a team a fighting chance so people dont get too discouraged.
The number one problem is finding a balance between vet teams getting in their complete full practice yet taking a round or two of showing a new person the ropes.
I have to agree with Gremlen. It might be more fun for newer folks if it was approached in a TPvPL fashion. Everyone will learn more and not get as frustrated.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to make it out yet. Between the gig I am working and the holiday, it's been tough to make it home that early on a Friday.

Or feel totally worthless. That's the hard part about starting up in Pvp, u feel like deadweight or target practice.
Either way, I appreciate the practice and event. If you guys keep doin it, I'll be happy to join PvP on a more regular basis.
