It's cool to have more options but I would rather have more baddies to fight, new places to see, and more powers to try.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seconded.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly why I'm so glad I'm not a Dev. I agree with Flea and Darkbridger on this, but I also know how many people think power customization is the be-all, end-all, top of the list desire. I don't really care what color my powers and while this addition is neat, I really couldn't care less and haven't really understood why it's such a big deal to so many.

I can't imagine how frustrating it is to be a game developer and try to prioritize things to make so many people people happy when they have such varied interestes and desires and I don't even understand them. I will never get, for example, why anyone would want a "shoulder kitten." Seriously.

[/ QUOTE ]

And yet there is an insanely vocal, long term group that get ignored on more than a daily basis.. Even with detailed lists, request, numerous amounts of people who agree, beg and plead, and nothing! Makes you really wonder doesn't it..

I mean don't get me wrong, power customization is cool and all, but why change powers when I use them in a favorite part of the game, and they don't do anything important. Will you change my foot color when I kick someone, or the trail of my fists when I flurry punch them? Sigh

Yes boss!!

This, as well as many other reasons, I devote my life and good times to you!

And, unless things get fixed, adjusted or "looked into," I might have to walk away, while you long for my servitude!

I, as well as quite a few others, have had enough! Enough of getting walked on, getting taken advantage of, and enough of the assumption that we will take the abuse that has happened. I welcome the mod smack, I welcome the stifle, and I welcome the MAN that will stop me from saying what everyone needs to say.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Sadly I can say, I've reached my breaking point!

gg, and YOU ALL have wrecked me, YES SON!

until I get an You all are right, I WILL NOT BE OK!

Take my happy rewards! You have stolen my love, and after this last few months you've made it where I am more than able to give it back.. So in the grand scheme of thing,I suppose I should thank you or something.

Actually All I need to say is, I am no longer in love! I've spent 50 months loving you, loving my friends, and loving your game. No longer am I in love with the game, I long for the days where I rushed home and spent every waking moment happy!

I LOVE MY FRIENDS, but I CAN LOVE MY FRIEND ELSEWHERE!

I assume this will probably get locked, erased or "moderated," but until then, SHAME ON YOU!

SHAME ON YOU for making the thing I LOVED more than anything in MY LIFE something I no longer care about! SHAME ON YOU for making it so I don't care anymore, and SHAME on YOU!!!!!!! for not caring that I, after 49 months feel this way.

gg and I suppose I should say Good LUCK or something, when I really dont care anymore.

There's a bit of a difference in your case. You made use of a costume option that was already there. You weren't lobbying the art team to add shoulder kittens.

Guess I should stop lobbying Sexy Jay to add hula garb to the game then?

Seriously though, while I think there are some character/costume options that would be neat to add to the game, I personally don't get the concept of incessantly lobbying the art team to add them to the game. I'm pretty indifferent on power customization myself...given the choice between the devs spending their time adding the necessary infrastructure for stuff like power or weapon customization (or even shoulder kittens ) vs. adding new content, my vote will always be for more content.

So I agree. Pay attention to them, monitor them, take note of things that keep reoccuring. And then use your best judgement to decide what to act on with the resources you have available.

No matter what the dev team does, someone somewhere is going to be dissatisfied with or angry about what is done, is going to quit, and is going to bad-mouth them. And this after they bust their tails working to implement things that (other) people have asked for and have been asking for quite some time. Yeah... I do wonder about the dev team... are they crazy or what?

I don't think that asking for things like bug fixes over content is an outlandish request.

When the much outdated coh manual stated that chat was one of the most important feature of the game and we continue to have

12221133442211234eeeeeeesayeah I agree

for the better part of an entire issue and it is unfixed for a new issue, along with a host of other unresolved bugs, it is bound to make people unhappy.

Jack Zodiac will always be a shining example of how to conduct yourself when your time with an MMO is up. If you talked to him within the last 6 months of his playing... it was not surprising that he was unhappy with the game and he was leaving. But on the forums he posted like he always did and made no forum drama-waves about it.

If you talked to him about why he was leaving (in private) he would say that he loved CoH, but it wasn't the MMO for him anymore. And that he wouldn't get into details with anyone about it, he would just fill out the survey thingie and send his opinion straight to the only people that it really counted with.

He said his goodbyes to people that needed to know he was leaving, let them know how to contact him (SURPRISE there was ways to stay in touch with people you know in-game outside of having a sub here) and then he was gone.

No spamming the boards with rage directed at the Devs, no derailing threads at any opportunity to express his dissatisfaction with the game, no threats of quitting unless his demands were met.

Everyone should follow the Emperor's example.

So as long as you're not upset then everyone else should just suffer quietly? I think that most everyone here who has posted has been posting with fairly cogent and eloquent responses. It is when the community is feeling let down that there should be a way for everyone to discuss what is wrong (or right). This includes things like bans and dev actions, although that isn't the sole focus.

One of the goals of making waves is that they feel that there is a genuine problem within the system that needs addressing in order in improve things. Just because you do not see it does not mean it doesn't exist. When someone like choake starts venting his frustrations in this manner, perhaps you should be concerned. I've never met someone who loved this game more, and he has always been one of the most approachable and friendly players on Justice.

So Jack Zodiac left in a manner that you felt was noble. Great guy, I only talked to him a couple of times. But his leaving didn't solve any of his disappointments with the game. He just chose not to care about it anymore. If you believe that everyone has a time that would be 'up' in an MMO, then I suppose that everyone should just pass on quietly such as not to disturb the others who are on their way out.

Me, I believe in MMO immortality. And singularities that collapse upon themselves.

I pray to whatever deity might be up there that the new Star Trek MMO will have absolutely NO reference, inference or acknowledgement of the new POS film. If it does, I'm not touching it with a ten meter cattle prod. [censored] that.

Also, from my understanding, it's not that everyone *has* to captain a ship. They give everyone the option of commanding their own vessels so that being a captain doesn't necessarily have to be earned by years of service with the particular space-borne fleet of your choosing. Sure, it's based on the idea that when you're the pilot of a shuttlecraft, and you're the only occupant, you count as captain... of a shuttlecraft... but hey, you don't have to stay on your piddly little shuttle forever. You're allegedly given the ability to serve as officers aboard your friends' ships as well so *they* can play captain, send you down to the surface of an exotic planet and get mounted by flying rubber vomit.
