Once made it about 72 hours, then passed out for 24, don't recommend it. Felt like I had a hangover for four days after that.

And that was because I had school to go to(probably after a night of CoH :P). The dean who knew me very well (and that I didn't drink/smoke anything) asked me if I was high in the hallway lol.

I've done a weekend without sleep, but had some stimulants to help. I've gone through the same thing you have, tired as hell in the morning or first waking up and then I think your mind and body just say "[censored] it, he's not going to sleep let's keep him awake a bit longer"

That was along time ago when a ex bf I had I was living with went mental.... after I broke up with him .... I could of slept when he went to work but I was already awake and couldn't sleep, couldn't move back home with my folks so I had to stay put til I found a place of my own .... I didn't mind I had things to keep me busy...... work, chatting online, playing coh 
Probably about 40 hours. This was also when I was in college and I spent an entire night hand-drawing a contour map for a surveying class (freshman pre-req for mechanical engineering). I lived at home, so it wasn't even like I could drop the map off in the morning and go back to my room and crash. I had to go to class the rest of the day and then home for supper with the parents. Plus it was finals week so I still had to study for the next day's exams.

I'd say I've gone about 36 hours. But that was back in the day (2000-2005?) when Montreal and club raves were on my weekend agenda whenever possible.
Nowadays I value sleep more than fun. This way, I can be productive and industrious in my cubicle indefinitely so as to bring in maximum revenue for my faceless masters!
Erm... maybe I should look into that club and see if it's still open...

my record was about 36-40 hours. I was just bored and wanted to see how long I could go. Drank a couple Monster™ Drinks o_o... slept for about 18 hours after.
I also believe I was slightly Hallucinating too by the end

well im at like 62 hours no sleep, and still not feeling tired, im not even really taking anything like coffee or monster. i got bored last night at like 4 am and i worked out until 8am then took a shower made breakfast and started cleaning the house.
now i'm planning on mowing the lawn and then later if i dont fall asleep i'm going to drive into minneapolis and go play ultimate frisbee.
and i suppose that could be dangerous but so far i feel wide awake, infact this morning i didn't even feel tired like last morning.
that would be pretty sweet if we could find a way to not have to sleep at all, you'd effectively get access to 1/3 of your life span to come up with stuff to do.
mind you they need to make stores stay opened 24 hours a day, because there wasn't anything opened at 3am last night.
wow i just read an article from a Vietnamese Newspaper about a guy who hasn't been to sleep since 1973. check it out. they say he does extra farming and stuff at night when everyone else is asleep.

I was crawling into bed after 4 sleepless days/nights
My job has had some rough patches in the last decade.
About 7 years ago, I was in a position where my head was the one that rolled downhill the farthest. It was mu job to oversee all of the details during a major college rivalry weekend. I got up at 4:30pm on a thursday and headed into work. I didn't get home until monday around 8am. By this time my normal sleep problems kicked in and I was awake until wednesday. I crashed for 24 hours, just in time for my next shift.
While I've only had a handful of those long stretches, I do end up staying up for days on end. Right now, I'm really unpredictable because I'm in a crash season. No classes over the summer, so I'm trying to let myself crash out as often as I feel it.
Quitting smoking and severely cutting back/out coffee and soda has left my system in shock. Right now I feel exhausted after being up a few hours, but then stay up all weekend long for work.
Meh! If I could go without sleep, I'd opt for it.

he's 64 years old, honestly its expected that he's gonna start breaking down some due to old age, a life of hard farm work and living in a 3rd world country where he might not get the best medical help.
i have 21 year old friends that got some [censored] drinkers, mind you they thought they could drink like me, but there body told them otherwise.

longest ive ever gone was 48 hours with my best friend all the way back in middle school one summer i went home and slept for 12 hours or so
nowadays i wont be trying that as i get very little sleep as it is so i need to appreciate it when i can get it
well im still awake i just got back from playing ultimate and i bought some groceries on the way home. i don't feel tired but i think im gonna as least try and fall asleep tonight since tomorrow i gotta drive like 300 miles instead of the 20 that i did today.
hhmmm the longest dead on was about 50-60 hours. Ive had PLENTY of 24-40 hour days and still do on occasion. That's the beauty of 24 hour shifts at work and being busy than coming home and being Mom..no sleep.
When you do finally pass out after one of those..its a long hard sleep for sure.

i had to stay up one time for a bit over 72 hours..i was driving people around as my (g/f at the time) ex's father was dieing of cancer in the hosp. i was drinking mt dew left and right caffine pills every 4 hours and finally got forced to go to bed and waking up only 2 hours later cuz the worset happened.. but then fell back asleep 5 hours later after taking everyone home..
just wondering whats the longest ppl have gone with out sleep? i got another 4 hours togo before i hit 48 hours, but whats odd is i feel more awake now then i did this morning when i was at work.
i have a feeling that i'll eventually pass out and have like the strings from my bass guitar imprinted on my face when i wake up.
