I was working Reactive Armour:resistance this last week

Recipe 1 million, enhancement 10 million. Margin has been squeezed right now

The problem with crafting 40 per day and filling up slots on multiple characters (for me) is just that it's SO time consuming.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... how long does a portable workbench last anyways? I can collect the pieces of salvage bid on the previous day, craft the 40 common IOs, and distribute them across 3 alts on 2 accounts before the thing goes blammo. I'm sure your way in indeed faster but my daily visit to Wents sure doesn't feel time-intensive.

Oh, I forgot what got me started down this path in the first place - the Fabricator badge. Was initially willing to take even a small loss per transaction while working on the badge until I quickly discovered its a viable source of steady income while making decent progress on that badge.

5 mins IIRC.

Long enough to collect salvage, craft and place 20 IOs easily.

Its how I worked most of Fabricator on Cat

Ahh, that will certainly speed things up. I'd have to craft, drop em in base, log out, etc etc etc. I can see how your method can be a great way to get some relatively risk-free inf rolling in, assuming you can deal with the time factor (which it seems like you have!)

I accidentally bought a second account (Some codes can apply to your account, some can't...WTF?? You'd think they'd make it pretty crystal clear which are which!) so I have some overlap time. I was gonna play around with dual-boxing and if it makes marketeering that much more ebil, I may just end up keeping both accts active...

I had been working on those for the past few weeks on one of my 70 characters, when I take the time to log onto him. The margin has been experiencing various amounts of squeeze for a while~

There are still 10ish to somewhat less than 20ish million margins in Ragnoroks. You can buy the recipies for 70-75 million and sell the enhancements for 100 million +.

Of course you need to have 75 million to get started.

10? You people are crazy.

I think I'm being risky if I craft TWO of the same thing.

[/ QUOTE ]
I guess I'm completely mad, then. I'll happily fill a storage unit with my crafted set IOs. I craft in bulk. Put out bids for multiple stacks of recipes. Buy multiple stacks of salvage. Craft like mad. Fill the storage unit. Sign in every few days and put another ten or twenty on the market until I'm getting low. Repeat. Profit.

If I was smarter, I'd have a crafting toon and a selling toon so that I could be working the buying and selling angles simultaneously. Not sure what my damage is.

In any case, my niches have been largely risk free so far. Profits go up and down, but I don't think I've ever made less than half a million per IO no matter how badly the bottom dropped out, so I never feel like I'm stuck with useless inventory. Yeah, I prefer when I'm making several million per, but somehow, I'll try to make do.

I must confess to being a niche buster

I scan the highly profitable margins, craft about 10 of the item and undercut the current niche user by 10-20%. Make good inf in a short time and then move on to the next niche.

Multi-boxing is very good for optimizing maximum sales and shifting salvage around as you look to craft IOs from the spread that you've just discovered.

When I have my three main V/H marketeers on and co-located, I essentially have a global marketing account that holds ~175 salvage, ~70 recipes and ~60 transaction slots.

I will say that it can be a supreme PITA when trying to balance your books though.

I'm not at a point to play with the big time marketers like most of you. I've only been playing the game for 2 weeks and my highest level characters are both level 15. But they do both have about 20M in influence.

I went from low-balling recipes to sell to the vendor to making Common IO's. By paying attention to the invention badges and stuff my profit margins are doing much better now.

At night, at the end of my playing session, I'll make two sets of 10 IO's (say Damage and End Modification). Then I put half of each set in storage while I put the other half on the market. That way I'm not flooding the market with one type of IO. The last thing is to pick up the stored IO's so that I'm carrying a full tray of 10.

In the morning before work, I login real quick and collect any influence I made, then refresh my stock on WW with the stuff I was carrying.

In the evening before I start playing, I get my influence, put the last of the 20 crafted IO's on the market and play for a while, then I repeat.

I'm not flipping recipes for 10's of millions inf each or anything. But I'm making a steady 2-3 million every 24 hours. Add to that the "windfall" when I get a rare salvage or recipe drop during my levelling and I'm doing just fine.

I've played the markets in most MMO's that I've played, it's a fun side game. For some reason I typically end up being better at the Market game than the MMO. Now if I could only turn those skills to Real Life...

Yeah but if you had all that money in RL, you wouldn't have time to play MMO's because of all the work you'd be doing.

Why not? If you have all that money in real life, you can stop working and live happily ever after and will have all the time in the world to play MMOs.

Don't apologize, people, for crafting commons. People need 'em, people buy 'em at higher than you list for; you're doing everyone a favor. (I list for just under 200K and often sell at 250K or 300K each, for level 35-40s. I used to list just under 150K, and people would buy at 200K, 250 or 300K. Inf falls from the heavens.)

I just made my newest field crafter, from start to finish she is up about 100 million inf
Though only about half of that from commons, I did run a few uncommons at the end in a niche at ~7 million a pop.

Definitely! And I tell ya what...I have 3 more toons going for the entire suite of crafting badges this month. I will list each and every one of their crafted common IOs for 25 INF.

(some ranges and types don't move or are overstocked and I'll just delete those.)

I buy stacks of respec recipes and flip them. They are a freaken gold mine, they're always raising in price.

I have the fear that someone might need one of those respec recipes, someone new to the game... so I refuse to flip them or price them high.

[/ QUOTE ]

You can stop worrying about that now. Now that we have dual builds, new players essentially have a freespec available to them right out of the box.

So go ahead and flip away on those respec recipes.

Apparently I got on that train late. Thankfully I was aiming for a lower margin so they'll move eventually, and if not, well, I have brutes to slot.
