New Game Show: "Blow My Niche"?
very rarely have i had any trouble listing 10 at a time or more, but that is because if im listing that many that means that those IOs are selling daily or bi daily. For example - lotg: defense or def/end or def/end/rech, they all sell multiple times daily and typically sell for double their cost.
I wouldn't list a pile of IOs that only sell one every 3 days or longer.
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer a decent turnover rate over a decent margin. Obviously it's a horse apiece, because a few sales of a decent margin can perform just as admirably as a lot of a smaller niche...but I like the fact that things move faster. It gives me better feedback, and I think it's a holdover from all those years I spent in retail: any slot not constantly buying and selling is a wasted slot.

Heh, my niche has gotten so good I bought and crafted thirty of them. Twenty are up on the CH right now, and we'll see how they do through the week. Will I turn this thread into "Shoot My Niche in the Foot?"

Being a leeeetle cautious this time, I did not reserve a few market slots for a new run of recipes and salvage. But I feel fairly confident that I'll clear out. It's always amazing when you think, "Gosh, I hope I didn't overprice those..." and come back within hours to see all 20 market slots cleared and more than half of them by 150%+ of what you posted for.

I'm actually irritated, my niche got too good this last weekend. I've been buying up Efficacy Adapter End mod/End redux for 750k recipes. I use AE tickets to get the salvage, and consistently sold 3-4 a day, red-side, for a listed 7.5 million.
I can't complain too much, though. Saturday, I had 7 up. All of them sold, for 13-18 million apiece. Now, someone else is in the niche and while it remains profitable, it's a fight that I'm not bothering with. Moved on to a few other things. My brute made about 200 million in the last 3 weeks just doing that for 10-20 minutes a day, and it was a nice little profit while it lasted.

Well, after 24 hours, the results are mixed. Seven of the Mako's sold at a profit margin of 4-5 million(I listed at 5.1 million and they all sold for 6-7 million). However, only one of the Nictus sold. I am now sitting on 34 million, so 5 million profit, and 12 enhancements still listed. Not surprising really....A lot more characters use Mako's, despite the sale history showing five Nictus sales on the 15th and 16th.
I went ahead and bought some more Mako's recipes, crafted, and relisted. That at least will be a profitable niche for a little while.

Cleared ten of them, twenty to go. I realized I had also bought up a stack of my slower-moving niche recipe, so I split the difference and posted ten of each. Once those go, I'll only have ten of niche A to clear. I don't much like the idea of having a dummy bid in on the CH to store inf. Between fearing an accidental "cancel bid/get lucre that will vanish" and losing a working CH slot, I think I'm going to roll up a bank character and have them hold on to it.

to reply to Fulmens and to let leak some vital niche (redside)info: low-lvl salvage was at a all(some)-time low last night. I'm talking less than 50 items here. Also Chaos Theorems are getting scarce again.
Ironically, I am now able to pay like 500k for rare salvage redside! I suspect the only reason some rubber-band to 1mill or so is the old-school bidders that just put up that avg price and go.

I would never post 10 of each at a time unless it's commons which turnover super fast. You're blowing your own niche before you start.
On a related note, I had a Nictus: Healing that I won on rolls and it was worthless. Blueside must rock...

Normally I'd agree with you. But this was simply a test. After looking at the sale history, my choices are most likely good ones. Like anyone else, I'm looking for quick profit. Time will tell I suppose.
