Purple triangles = 100 mag of hold protection.
8 permadom dominators specifically built to recycle their holds as quickly as possible is the only way to even come close as far as I've seen. This also means there is probably not as much debuffing going on (little to no -res) so the damage will be reduced. You also don't have damage-dedicated members on the team so, more damage reduction.
It's not really a good way to tackle an AV when it could more easily and quickly be done by a debuff team or a moderately survivable damage team.
Not to sound rude, but you know you posted this in the Brute section, right?
Not sure why this is in the Brute section, but you can break PToD with a single perma-Dom; it's mag50 protection (53.5 mag needed to hold) and not 100.
Someone (not me) had a screenshot showing the Surveillance/Power Analyzer reading for a perma-held Rommie - there was 54 mag stacked in Char, and while there were other people with holds on the team they were the only one on the team who could've had the power at all (no Blasters, Tankers, or Controllers).
At that point, you're pretty much doing nothing but throwing holds, though - that's 9 stacked Domination-boosted Holds for every 35ish seconds.

I don't know that it's ever changed, but the mag protection was clearly listed in the screenshot.
It was in the "Why do Dominators suck" thread if I remember correctly - given a recent forum purge I'm almost positive it's gone now, but it may be there.

You can indeed perma-hold AVs with a permadom. Sometimes, a miss will break the hold and you'll get massacred, assuming you're solo. But with enough recharge, you can even do enough damage to solo them. It can be pretty safe, too - my Dom is my best AV soloer.

I'm Fire Control, though, and my hold activates a lot faster than Gravity's. I'm not sure Grav would be able to do it.

Mind/ and Fire/ are the best to perma hold AV's through the PToD. I heard Ice/ can do it too, but it's more difficult. And of course, you have to be a permadom for this.

Because we smash AVs, we don't hold them 
Even though this is in the brute forum, I'll answer. Yes, you can. No one mentioned singularity yet. With powerboost and Force of Nature it's not impossible at all. You won't be doing enough damage, but 2 doms can attack and keep them held pretty easily.
And I thought the preferred method for soloing AVs on a mind dom was permasleeping.

Stone/dark comes really close to doing dom-level control.
As the title says, is this possible to do??? I have a gravity/ice dominator I use and I seemed really ineffective against any AV. But since gravity has a nice single target hold I was wonder if it was possible to combine it with domination and power boost to achieve a hold on an AV. I hear fire and psi are able to do this if slotted right. Well let me know what you guys think/know. Thanks
