As it stands you knowingly violate the EULA in a thread that has nothing to do with the issue being discussed. This can and possibly will cause -this- thread to be locked. Far better to openly request a change to policy in the appropriate forum.

I actually only brought this up in this thread in a way that actually referenced it but since i and others were called whiners it degraded. Have there been other threats of it? There has been precisely one, for the most extreme abusers of exploits. That's the only "banning," with this whole thing, that's been mentioned. And those who got hit with it via being level pacted, from what I've been reading, have had their characters restored and/or had the ban removed. Have you used /bug or /petition? You will not get any sort of reply from a /bug. A /petition, however, will get a GM - sometimes - generally on prime times and weekends with a long wait, other times within minutes - or an email from customer service. Incorrect, as they most certainly do fix issues with the game. Some take longer than others. That's just the way things go - something that looks like a "simple fix" might affect something else in a completely unexpected way.
Plus, unlike a single player game or, say, a word processor, an MMO is under continual development and must keep having new areas, powers, etc. added. There's no point at which they can say "OK, it's done, now all we need to do is push it out and deal with any bugs that come up."

See, this is where I have a problem with you Philly, see this thread was started innocently enough asking about subscription numbers and since the numbers are no longer being made available for any NCSoft game including their bread and butter Lineage series (and looking back at NCSoft's quarterly and annual reports it looks that they never really reported number of subscriptions, just maximum concurrent users and total number of unique accounts that logged on during that quarter) I came up with a guesstimate. Now instead of turning into the usual DOOM thread about subscription numbers you popped in with the intention of getting this thread locked or deleted while your "heroically" martyr yourself in the name of truth, taking down innocent threads in the process.
Now I spent a while last night catching up on the last couple hundred posts in the MA 2 thread so I now understand the ire that many people feel. However if you know that the mods are locking and deleting threads about that topic, as per their mandate according to the forum rules from day 1 of the forum, thread jacking to "spread the word" before those threads too are deleted is a bit disingenuous to OPs with legitimate questions. A simple link to the first post about the level pact screw-up in the now locked MA 2 thread should be enough to spread the word without it turning into yet another debate how it's the devs fault that people shot themselves because they they left a box of loaded guns in the room with "do not touch" written on the side.
Am I upset with what seemed to have happened, now that I know about it. Yes, it's a screw up of monumental size, much like the low NYC flyover of AF1 simply to update some file photos. The problem is while the ability to send out mass 3 day bans and resetting characters to 0 XP is an easy and automatic process, recovering character data is not. The CS staff isn't large enough to handle the influx of wronged players and the data recovery infrastructure for recovering player data isn't either. The bans are over regardless and the wronged are being handled, slowly.
But going around to other threads, especially in the Player Questions area and thread jacking them with the hope it'll get deleted is simply wrong.

See, this is where I have a problem with you Philly, see this thread was started innocently enough asking about subscription numbers and since the numbers are no longer being made available for any NCSoft game including their bread and butter Lineage series (and looking back at NCSoft's quarterly and annual reports it looks that they never really reported number of subscriptions, just maximum concurrent users and total number of unique accounts that logged on during that quarter) I came up with a guesstimate. Now instead of turning into the usual DOOM thread about subscription numbers you popped in with the intention of getting this thread locked or deleted while your "heroically" martyr yourself in the name of truth, taking down innocent threads in the process.
Now I spent a while last night catching up on the last couple hundred posts in the MA 2 thread so I now understand the ire that many people feel. However if you know that the mods are locking and deleting threads about that topic, as per their mandate according to the forum rules from day 1 of the forum, thread jacking to "spread the word" before those threads too are deleted is a bit disingenuous to OPs with legitimate questions. A simple link to the first post about the level pact screw-up in the now locked MA 2 thread should be enough to spread the word without it turning into yet another debate how it's the devs fault that people shot themselves because they they left a box of loaded guns in the room with "do not touch" written on the side.
Am I upset with what seemed to have happened, now that I know about it. Yes, it's a screw up of monumental size, much like the low NYC flyover of AF1 simply to update some file photos. The problem is while the ability to send out mass 3 day bans and resetting characters to 0 XP is an easy and automatic process, recovering character data is not. The CS staff isn't large enough to handle the influx of wronged players and the data recovery infrastructure for recovering player data isn't either. The bans are over regardless and the wronged are being handled, slowly.
But going around to other threads, especially in the Player Questions area and thread jacking them with the hope it'll get deleted is simply wrong.

Actually go back to the first page and read my very first post. I came into this post with a very valid reason and valid questions. Unlike the others who immediately called me a whiner i went to each of the sites mentioned and looked at the data. I even listened to the stockholder meeting did you? I had no intention of jacking this thread. I had valid questions and a valid point until i got told otherwise. Yes i will defend myself. No I didn't listen to the stock holder meeting, I find that most of those simply reiterate what is in the official release. Answers to questions are usually, at least with US companies, simply refer the questioner back to the official release so no extra insight is provided only to investers listening to the call.
Of course Lineage I and II and Aion would be the thrust of that call and of their press release. The Lineage series is their bread and butter, representing nearly 80% of their income before Aion came out. Now Aion is a big of a hit as either Lineage I or II and that's just with the Korean servers. Now when it arrives in North America later this year, the question becomes will it do better here than Lineage? The last report that had numbers (3Q08) showed Lineage II in NA/EU having only half the numbers that CoH/V had.
And sorry, your first post here was a legitimate question. Your next question started to lean to the usual DOOM posts that such a thread attracts. I guess Mrs_OHSA and Forbin cast the first stones and pushed this thread into yet another rehash of the MA/ban/oops material.

TY for looking and seeing it wasn't my intention. I needed to listen to it because i found the bar graphs a bit confusing as to their set up. I wasn't sure if they were stacked meaning that the little teany bit of "other" which was where cov was that was ontop actual meant that it was just that much more above everything below it. The bar graphs i am used to seeing in science papers are set up differently so it was a bit hard to understand it. I found the more vocal description to be more helpful. I have a science background and no experience with business issues outside of big Pharma.

The number of players that actually use the forums is maybe 10% of the playerbase and of that maybe 1% have made "I'm quitting" posts. So the mods can't delete posts that aren't getting made. Of the few "I'm quitting" posts I have seen several were made by people jumping from one account to the next and whining as each one got shut down. One person using multiple accounts to announce he's quitting is still only one person.
Oh and please feel free to believe what you want about the number of people you think are leaving the game. The sheer volume of team invites I get every time I'm on since I14 went live tells me you have no idea what you're talking about.

Forum ranting wont solve your issues with the game. Log issues with NCSoft customer support, and/or vote with your feet. This is a business after all.

No matter how robust your QA processes you will always get bugs and exploitable features, its understandable, its software.
The clients we work with have much higher consequences of our software failing, if we go down, people may die. Our customers know this, so instead of ranting they work cooperatively with us to close gaps and shut down bugs

From what i hear people who went to CS and was able to explain that the deleted toon was level with a level pact are getting them back. Is that right? Most people think so. I don't think level pact was meant to be used that way and they should not get them back. Everybody has thier own idea of what is right.
