I'm in the money... and its slightly sad.
You could always give the money to me. I mean, you know, since you don't seem to want it.
I'm on virtue villain side... need a few?

I'm on villain side on the "V" server that isn't the busy one...probably Victory, but I always forget until I see it at the top of my list.
Of course I could make a new guy on the other one...:P
I'm just messing around, man, I don't want your money. I'm actually learning the markets right now and working on amassing my own fortune. It'd hardly do to boast about my first billion after being seeded by begging!
Mmm, thats what I figured. Inf has always been a means to an end for me... never really cared much for it, heh.
Now if it was GOLD I could see hoarding it, hehehehe.

I can see your point, but I actually enjoy the market and making Inf. The Inf just ends up being a way to tally the points up, just like getting a toon to 50. You enjoy playing the game, running missions, so forth and at times \, I really enjoy just plying my ebil trade in the market
I am happy that there are multiple waysw to enjoy this game.
[*] Many people enjoy playing the game for its own sake, at level 50[*] Level 50 characters can make a lot of money[*] Other people get stuff level 50s want, and can sell it to them at high prices, because level 50s make a lot of money[*] If the sellers sell stuff to level 50s often, they make a whole lot of money, concentrating inf earned by different 50s on themselves[*] People with lots of concentrated wealth sometimes also enjoy tricking out their characters. Or somtimes people who enjoy tricking out their characters decide to concentrate wealth to do so.
Voila - How people are able and willing to pay 100M inf for something. It's not like they had to sell their soul or work in a salt mine to do it.

It strikes me as slightly sad that people will take hours of their time, sweating and slaving, just to spec out a character to make it "t3h ubur l33t."
Honestly I would rather be spending time having fun playing the game... or making new characters.

What in the world makes ppl dress up imaginary characters in spandex and fight equally imaginary bad guys in a virtual world? Why not lead a real life?

Because real life doesn't let me kill people without consequences.
Getting inf. is like tasting the rainbow and picking the skittles up off the ground after,.. you just need to know where the rainbows are. It's not that hard to get inf., heck I farmed myself up 2 panacea procs yesterday while doing housework at the same time, 800 mill about 30 minutes of actual effort and a bit of luck.
Nice sell there.
Me, I am the type of person to want to eventually have everything in a game. I been a gamer since 1972. Thats right 1972! I am used to being able to obtain everything there is in a game, at some point. That is one of the reasons I like to have as much inf as I can get my hands on. Mind you, I dont have that much, yet...well I dont think 400 mill is that much anyways. Not nowadays.
The reason I would like to have a LOT of inf is to kite out at least one hero and one villain. You know, like having everything in a game. Me having a kited out hero and villain is probably easyer than me getting ALL the badges in the game, and yes, I would like to have all of them too lol.
That is just how I am, and it seems like this game wont let people have EVERYTHING, which is a tad frustrating, cause that is what I am used to in games. But, I really like this game so I just keep on playing it and gain a little each time I play. Maybe one day I will be damned near close to having everything for at least one of my toons.
That is my reason for wanting a lot of inf.

Happily, you have that option.

That is one hell of a thing to know exactly where to farm and get for 400,000,000 inf a pop... and you only need a "bit" of luck eh? Dang.

I just came back after taking about a month's break... and found my Armageddon Damage/Acc/Recharge had sold for 144 Million inf.
144,000,000
Thats a little over 7 million in market fees.
And the thought dawns on me... what in the world possesses people to hike prices so high... and also what in the world will I do with all of this money...
Level 30-35 generic IO's are fine for me. A hour or two's hassle going from the market to the crafting table and then I dont have to worry about any of my slotted enhancements ever again.

Its very simple what makes the porices so high. Customers are idiots who will willingly fling their money.
I mean. when pvp Ios first came out., I remember someone listed it for like 40 mil. and he sold it half a day later for half a billion because someone didnt even bother bidding lower than that.

A moment of clarification: "Sweating and slaving" is what people do, for instance, working construction in India.
What we do is pretendy fun games. I don't enjoy exactly the same pretendy fun games you do, but that doesn't guarantee that you are a "Slightly sad" person for playing them.
I do hope you enjoy your generic IO's, and in fact your entire play experience. I certainly enjoy mine.
