Patch but no notes...... again?
Not that having actual information would stop you from whining, but many times if they are fixing exploits with a patch, they don't release notes on it as they tend to give a clue as to what the exploit was. Even if they think they've fixed a vulnerability, explaining what they did and why just gives people knowledge that makes it easier to find other exploits, or starts flamewars about why changing something was right/wrong.

heaven forbid people ask questions... and aren't as omniscient as others believe themselves to be. as a city scoop person, you'd think the quoted would be... helpful. guess that's not a requirement.

This is the third, maybe the fourth time in a row that I log into the game, it starts downloading a patch, yet there are no patch notes. It's got to be harder to code a patch than to write a few notes about it right? Why can't they get those notes up?
[/ QUOTE ]
1. They never put the patch notes up right away, in case the patch bugs out and they have to pull it. Check back later in the afternoon.
2. The patch they put on live can usually be found on the test forum, where it was applied several days ago for you to go test it out..

Even a simple one-line patch note release that says "We fixed a few exploits" would be sufficient. No, we don't need to know which exploits, but it would still go a fairly long way at reassuring the playerbase that they still have a functional QA process that includes proper documentation.

can't say what's in the patch... but YAAAY more bugs already!

lol you said functional QA process. Their QA process is garbage. Remember the patch we had a few weeks ago that had some stuff that was claimed to be fixed like 3 times. Seriously there is no way they are testing the stuff. Wouldnt it make sense to go down each little change to see if it actually took effect before even pushing it to test? Even if they cant do it with the big patches they can at least do it on the little ones.

I think you meant "can't see any other big differences". In which case you would still be incorrect.
The custom critter updates are now live. The changes in the latest test patch notes as well as the announcement about the changes to custom critters have now been implemented.
We'll see....
Thank you for the correction Sun, now I must go play with custom critters heh

Good Lord.
They do have patch notes located on the Test Server Forums. They even have them for for this particular build. The patch notes are always delayed from being posted here in case they have to revert. This is not rocket science. Honestly.
Must we have these threads every time?

Yes we do, as long as the install a patch w/o putting the notes in the designated spot, the one that's linked on the CoHUpdater screen.
And another fix: The bind bug is gone, at least for me.

But if you know the cause of the delay and and know they will be one, why? Why post it to receive the exact same answer.

Rikti Comm Officer 42-42 has been removed.
Rikti Comm Officer 30-54 has been moved to Minion Class.
Custom Boss melee sets now have a ranged power.
New Bug: When editting an arc, the MA editor is inserting "default" text into the description for hostages causing the arc to show errors (over size limit, only 300 characters permitted/Invalid HTML etc).
Workaround: Just delete the text and re-publish, but everytime you edit the arc, you will have to do this.
Workwround: Use a custom critter as a hostage instead of one of the provided ones (with a small description).

It's not that hard to give us some clue as to what they fixed, even if it just says "fixed some exploits" just post something.
You do realize also that most players don't ever go to the forums, that's why the designated "Patch Notes" area is not in the forums.

They do put notes up, after the servers have been brought up successfully, after the notes get cleared by everyone in the office that needs to clear them. If you don't see notes by the end of the day, then maybe maybe you have something to whine about. Until then, it's the same procedure they've always followed and you really need to shut up.

Guess that is where we disagree. I don't see it as wrong if the notes are not immediately posted when there is always a possibility of reversion. I have no issue with the notes being posted when the determination has been made that the build will remain.
Yes, I realize not everyone goes to the forums. But, it is obvious you do. Is it not? Therefore referring you to the test server is not unreasonable.

Patch Notes are not a full changelog. There's always plenty of things that get fixed without a not because they're minor. Besides, you're trying to change the issue. Just be wrong and let it go.
