+Stealth IO question!
It does not slow movement directly:
the only downsides I can think of are
1) use of a slot, so you dont get a +fly speed enhancement in there. (which could be an indirect slowing)
2) when triggered it stays active for 120seconds after the toggle is turned off. This can be undesired when taking screenies.
Just as an FYI, as long as the power is available when exemped, the level of the IO doesn't matter. Its like a damage proc in that regard.

Like Cat said, about the only drawback is that it uses a slot and you can't manually turn it off (it stays on for 120 seconds). Other than those two very minor things, they're very nice IOs. And if you do have stealth already, it stacks with them to give you virtual invisibility.

An important note: Stealth IO's are unique. I don't mean you can only have one Fly Stealth, one run stealth, etc. You can only have one Stealth period. Slotting the Fly means you cannot slot the Jump, Run or Teleport Stealth IO's.

Excellent, thanks for the info! I think that takes care of my paranoia, I'll go ahead and slot it.
Hm...that gets me thinking though. I would have taken the actual Stealth from the Concealment pool, but by 50 I will already have dipped into 4 pools. I may be able to squeeze hover in there, I'm assuming it would work the same way in there. That way I could enhance flight for speed, and use hover for stealth....sorry, thinking out loud heh.
In any case, you've all given me the answers I was seeking, thanks!
Oh btw, when you zone, it will double stack. So you can get up to two minutes of invisibility right after you enter a mission. (I used that tidbit a lot when I used to do solo speed runs for the Twilight Sun / Mender Lazarus TFs.)

That's a bug...the double stacking is going to be fixed.
Yes...slotting it in hover works as well.
I'm becoming more and more of a fan of Hover + Superspeed for complete invisibility, and SS + Rocket Pack for actual travel. None of my characters actually take Fly, as it seems something of a wasted power pick with rocket packs.
I don't mind the 2 minutes of stealth, and I'll click Hover on/off just to re-enable 2 more minutes of end-free stealth.

Not surprising that it's considered a bug, I just never heard it officially stated that way. Still, I'll keep it in mind.
er...waitaminute...Rocket Packs? I guess I failed to mention that I have just come back after a LONG time away I thought I was just getting a grip on things like IO's / IO Set's, and now this? heh I swear, every day there is something that I haven't heard about. I guess I should just start with the patch notes from about 18 months ago and power read. I will read into rocket packs, good info! Thanks!

I think they tried to stealth fix it and it has lead to problem with click status not carrying into missions or new zones sometimes as well as the loss of passive ablilities set bonuses when you first zone into a mission
I know I have been gettin held/slept/KB etc a good bit when I enter a mission until my mez protection recharges for use again
About the stealth IO, I pick super speed on all my toons and have found SS to be a perfect place for a stealth IO. Click SS and you have Invis.

In simple terms blueside - in each of the 4 Shadow Shard zones there is a Vendor who will sell you a rocket pack temp power for 10 000 inf.
Redside the vendor is in Grandville.
(the power is the exact same one as is unlocked by the Atlas Mayhem/safeguard)

The stealth stacking is caused by the same problem that allows speed boost, fortitude, force field or sonic bubbles, and other normally non-stacking effects to stack. It's been in the game since release, and a dev at one point said of the stackable things I just listed that they know it's a bug but probably won't fix it due to the time and code modification needed to make it work right. Double stacking isn't a huge benefit, so while it might get fixed, I doubt it will and certainly wouldn't concern myself either way.

Just a FYI, but you can get Invisibility without a second power by slotting a Celerity +Stealth in SS. So unless you need Hover for some other reason, you can skip the Flight pool entirely.

Run or jump stealth IOs go in sprint, so never any need to take up a useful slot anywhere.

Can not put the stealth IO in an auto power like hurdle, does NOT allow it.
I put a +stealth io in prestige power slide, so that way it doesn't take up a "real" IO slot, and leaves sprint open if I want to jog in a less sneak manner.

Yes you can. That's how I've done it on a number of my characters. Particularly those who don't have a travel power.

I have these in a sprint variant on every character I play, and I regularly put them back in sprints after respec. I just did so twice before I14's release.
So yes, you can.

S/He's confusing the Stealth IOs with the Universal Travel sets. I've slotted Stealth into my Sprint variants as well.

I was wrong. It's Universal Travel sets you can't place in sprint.
I've wanted one of the stealth IO's for a while, and I finally picked up a Freebird stealth. I was ready to socket it, but then I paused, thinking I better look into this fully first.
I'm just wondering, are there any downsides to this IO that anyone can point out so I don't socket it and regret it? For instance, I am wondering if it works like standard stealth in that it slows movement as well? I am /kin so I can recoup some of the speed with Siphon Speed, but still...would be nice to know. Just looking for any words of warning!
