Thanks for the info. I was just concerned that I put it in a power that somehow "didn't count" or something, and that I wasn't getting the bonus for it.
-
Just wondering if anyone help clear this up for me ... when you get an enh bonus or set bonus to your recharge time, is that actually displayed in the "show detailed information" section of a power? My current character is 29, and I just got a recharge time set bonus. I didn't see any kind of change in the listed % for the recharge, just wondering if that is calculated afterwards?
I wasn't expecting miracles for my recharge time, but since it's calculated to the hundredths place, I would expect to see *something*, no matter how small.
Any insight on how that is listed?
Thanks! -
I can't think of a great way to ask this question, so I'll try with some examples...hopefully it won't be too long
I have a basic understanding of magnitude, and stacking it to achieve higher mag to affect a tougher foe. But, what about powers that have a magnitude but no listed duration?
Example: My particular character in question is an AR/Traps Corruptor. I know that if I toss a web grenade and it doesn't stick my foe that further applications during the duration of the first one have a chance to do so. What about things with knockback? For instance, assuming a foe has a mag 4 protection against knockback and I have multiple attacks that have lesser mag knockback. Is there any residual effect from one that lingers to allow a second attack with KB to have an effect on the foe? As in, does a KB effect from buckshot "stick around" for a while so that the KB from M30 has a chance to KB a foe, even though neither one has enough on it's own? Or, since neither attack has mag 4 on its own the foe is safe from being knocked back from me using those powers?
Bonus questionAlong the same lines, if I enhance a KB power with a KB distance enhancement, does that effectively increase the magnitude of the KB or, as listed, just the distance? And, does increased magnitude in KB automatically increase the distance or just who it can affect? It's tough for me to test since I always play with the same group, and they also have knockback attacks, so it's hard to tell what caused it sometimes. If I knew the exact mag of a foe I could possibly set up a test, but I'm not sure what those numbers are.
I know, there are about a dozen questions mixed up in there, but I'll settle for an answer on any of them you can give me!
Thanks! -
Sounds valid, I'll give it a try now, then it can have all day to figure things out while I'm at work

I'd like to see if anyone else has had a problem of this type, and possibly a solution. I have one character that has some issues with keybinds changing on their own, 2 in particular. I have my spacebar set to Target Nearest Enemy, and for some reason during play (after about 10 minutes) this changes to be Toggle Mouse Look. The two keybinds just swap places for some reason. I can set them back, and it will work for a while, then swap again.
I use the same binds on my other characters as well with no issues. I saved my keybinds to a file on a functioning character and loaded it for the one that doesn't work correctly, and the problem still occurs, only on the one character.
I don't really have any macros set up, so I don't think it's a macro-gone-bad or something like that. I do use a logitech G13 gaming pad, but I use it for all other characters with no ill effects. I've been trying to figure out what is different with this ONE character that makes it happen, but nothing is obvious to me. Any suggestions? -
I have a AR / Traps Corruptor and have a question about socketing a knockback protection IO. If I put one into Force Field Generator, does everyone protected by the shield benefit from the knockback protection? I'll likely socket it anyhow, 'cause I hate getting floored, but the one I have to socket is several levels higher than I am currently, and I'm very curious
Thanks! -
Hopefully I'm not horribly wrong in this, but I think it comes out to be even less of a bonus than it seems going the route of 93% vs. 99%.
Since the enhancements "enhance" the value of the buff itself (Stamina has a base of 25% endurance mod I think, game is down can't check). So an additional 93% of that would be an extra 23.25% vs. 24.75% with a 99% bonus. Instead of a 6% bonus to recovery it is more like a 1.5% bonus. It's still "something", but with that in mind I personally would go with the set bonuses over the 1.5% extra endurance regen.
(ok math guys, tear me apart! heh) -
Thanks for the info so far! I am Fire / Kin, probably should have mentioned that earlier
I have Maneuvers currently, so it looks like between that and Scorpion Shield, once properly socketed, I should be able to get around 25% DEF? I have some minor set bonuses that add DEF as well, but nothing huge. I normally duo with a Brute friend so I'm not often the target of all the mobs, just when Fulcrum Shift or an AE attack pulls something onto me (unless I do something silly, which can happen).
My current problem is more to do with status effects than outright damage. I recall a particular series of missions against Longbow, their Nullifiers would stand back just out of aggro range of the Brute, and once I'd launch an attack they would turn on me...one shot, and I'm stunned...over and over heh. It sounds like giving the Nullifier a 25% greater chance to miss would be good.
I might give Scorp Shield a try! If nothing else I have some respecs burning a hole in my pocket so I could recover from it if it turns out to be bad. Thanks for the feedback!
One other question maybe someone could help out with .... I'm wondering what the various powers look like, so as not to entirely destroy my char concept. Is anyone aware of any web sites that would give me an idea of the graphics?
Thanks! -
I was hoping to get some feedback from people that have experience with the various ancillary powers available to Corruptors. I'm level 40 currently, so I guess it's time I looked into this!
I was fully planning on getting one of the powers that adds damage resist, but then I noticed that Scorpion Shield adds defense? That *sounds* like a great idea to me, but I'd like to hear from others that have tried it to see how it actually plays out.
So, anyone out there willing to share a story of how they think these powers add to survivability? -
The command is likely in the post above, but I have it handy here:
/bind MOUSECHORD +forward
I also don't like the auto-run to be started on it's own, so I saved this bind to a text file so I don't forget it. You have to issue the command one time for each character. -
er...waitaminute...Rocket Packs? I guess I failed to mention that I have just come back after a LONG time away
I thought I was just getting a grip on things like IO's / IO Set's, and now this? heh I swear, every day there is something that I haven't heard about. I guess I should just start with the patch notes from about 18 months ago and power read. I will read into rocket packs, good info! Thanks!

Excellent, thanks for the info! I think that takes care of my paranoia, I'll go ahead and slot it.
Hm...that gets me thinking though. I would have taken the actual Stealth from the Concealment pool, but by 50 I will already have dipped into 4 pools. I may be able to squeeze hover in there, I'm assuming it would work the same way in there. That way I could enhance flight for speed, and use hover for stealth....sorry, thinking out loud heh.
In any case, you've all given me the answers I was seeking, thanks! -
I've wanted one of the stealth IO's for a while, and I finally picked up a Freebird stealth. I was ready to socket it, but then I paused, thinking I better look into this fully first.
I'm just wondering, are there any downsides to this IO that anyone can point out so I don't socket it and regret it? For instance, I am wondering if it works like standard stealth in that it slows movement as well? I am /kin so I can recoup some of the speed with Siphon Speed, but still...would be nice to know. Just looking for any words of warning!
