Dual Blades/Invulnerability against... stuff.
I can see how it'd be different coming from a SR or WP, but being Invul spending most of my slots to get defense is all I'm used to, I wouldn't know what I'm missing. There are benefits to be a newbie.
I just wanna know how you got wegame to play sounds :P
I don't remember doing anything special. Did you make sure you enabled sound recording in video settings ?
[ QUOTE ]
Invulnerability is really a great set now with i13 buffs and defense being easier to boost. It might be stronger than /SR in some situations (Scrapper solo vs Rom Nictus anyone ??)

I really think this can be done. I still haven't had time to try this...I hope I can soon!

First, I rushed in. No go : her web grenade hits too much, and then she flies around. I couldn't damage her enough. So, I tried pulling her in one of these narrow corridors, but she still ran too much. Ran so much that, in fact, she ran into a Vanguard boss.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and the rest is history.

His defense debuffs forced me to jump around when I was hit twice in a row. Other than that, it was fine.

Summoning Nictus

The hardest part about this fight was aggroing the specific Nictus I wanted and Romulus at range, while not alerting the other two Nictus (Nictii? Eh, I'm going to go with Nictus anyway), as I can't handle the autohit Nictus and Romulus at the same time. I played with the aggro cap to get the Nictus I wanted, after that there's a very specific range at which Romulus will aggro but his Nictus remain passive, regardless if you're at the aggro cap or not.
It took a lot of trial and error.
Healing Nictus

The fight takes longer, as it heals itself, but it was easier to set up as I had experience with the first Nictus.
Autohit Nictus

Incredibly hard.
First, pulling the Autohit Nictus while not aggroing Romulus. This is very, very tough. If the Autohit Nictus uses his AoE attack and Romulus is in range, he'll be alerted. If Romulus gets too far away from the Nictus, the Nictus will run back to him. There's a sweet spot at which the Nictus won't go back to Romulus, while Romulus stays unaware of the situation, but it's really short. A few feet too close or too far, and either the Nictus runs back to Rom or Rom aggroes.
And this is what makes the fight so hard. In order to do enough damage, I can't spend all the time healing ; eventually, I have to kite. If I jump too early, the Nictus will move towards me and might go too far from Rom, thus heading back to him. If I jump too late, the Nictus hits me and I lose DPS for nothing. If I don't jump in a perfect line, I might aggro Romulus (it happened twice on previous attempts).
My strategy was to attack as much as possible, as long as I had enough HP to sustain the next hit ; this way, I could leverage Blinding Feint stacking. When I was low on HP, I used Aid Self and kited at the same time.
This was my best fight, and I think the video is pretty entertaining, too. I almost died multiple times, especially near the end.
Nictus Romulus

While the Autohit Nictus was the big fight, Nictus Romulus is no joke himself. Negative damage, defense debuffs, Siphon Life, Soul Drain, he's got it all.
Thankfully, as you can see on the other videos, it's easy to keep him locked at range. I started the fight in melee, but as ambushes came it moved from there and I killed my Council buddies fueling Invinc, so I kept him at range.
This is it, solo ITF without inspirations. It took 6 hours over 2 days, and it was worth every minute of it.
Edit : It seems WeGame doesn't like videos over 15 minutes, I'll upload the missing parts soon.

Dude... put that in it's own thread so people don't miss it... That's the best thing I've seen a scrapper to yet.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
Will do. I'm lazy, though, so I'm just going to copy and paste.
Daolong, you rock. If it wasn't for your advice about minions and Invincibility, I might still be struggling against easy AVs like Battle Maiden instead of doing that stuff. Also used your idea to use Council minions against Rommie, as you can see.

Heh... Well, I will take that compliment.
On the other hand, taking down that autohit fluffy like that was genius.

My goal was to jump in and fight all three at the same time, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to handle them without minions around, even if only for a few seconds. I tried to pull them to a corner with minions ; unfortunately, Maestro didn't follow.
The fight goes pretty fast ; level 39 archvillains have lower regen (because of their lower HP), and Oppressive Gloom lowers Requiem hit points further.

I had to wait for end a lot, but as he's the weaker of the three, it was no big deal.
Even with inspirations, Nosferatu was a no go. Auto-hit damage and debuff aura, and reconstruction, while I haven't CP or Aid Self? Ouch...
Mind posting your build? I'm really really intrigued. When I think 'uber', DB/Inv isn't the first thing that pops to mind.

Yeah, that's a fun trick to pull, no doubt.
I'm on my Mac so I can't load mids and look at your build.
What are your def / resistance numbers coming out to be
-- with 1 foe in range
-- with 5-10 in range
I'm really curious, since I'm guessing you have high def to E/N at least.
My DM/INV -- tricked out with sets for +HP and+recharge -- got creamed every time I tried the RWZ challenge (whereas I've beat it on a number of other toons). Of course, I didn't have Aid Self.
I just couldn't get /INV to work for me - even on the Cim wall the Romans cut through the Def bonuses from lots of mobs. Really curious how your numbers are looking.
Thx.

Nihilii's build is sitting at 36.5 s/l and 33 f/c/n/e with one foe in range.
That puts it at the soft cap for s/l and ~43 f/c/n/e with 10 foes.

[/ QUOTE ]
That unfortunately is where you went wrong... the +HP does nothing for you really.
The recharge is needed however to get a nice attack chain and perma DP.
Basically, you want at least 41% defense to all s/l/f/c/n/e, with 43+ being preferable.
You also want upwards of 60% global recharge on top of hasten so you can chain smite/MG/smite/SL.
Nihilii has well over 300% regen in that build as well, but thats not quite as important for DM because of siphon life.
You will still want ~80-85% heal enhance in SL and 280-300 passive regen.
Add on top of that soul drain with less than 10 seconds downtime and some decent endurance control and you can lay some serious smack down with DM/invuln.
Just dont expect it to be cheap (although it will be cheaper than werners builds by a good margin).
Oh, a quick note.
DM doesnt need aid self. Siphon life makes it redundant.
Also, to get the levels of defense I mentioned above is actually relatively easy to obtain... 4 sets of 4 reactive armor, 1 set of 4 kinetic combat, 2 sets of 3 aegis and 1 set of 3 eradication stacked on top of the steadfast IO, weave and manuvers will get you above 41%.
Add in say combat jumping or hover, or few set bonuses and your set for defense.
There are other ways to get there, but thats probably the most cost effective way.
Hope that helps.
Oh, and grats on the uber RWZ challenge Nihilii... Ive only done it with 2 chief soldiers so far.
Granted I was impatient and pulled two spawns so had about 12 conscripts as well, but we both know the bosses are the dangerous ones

Not sure i believe that. Having +HP is actually very important when you fight an AV. I havent at all worked IOs for my HP, and dont have any accolades, and one of my scrapper's HP count is 1420 hp, her's is like 2400, she has about 3/2 as many HP as me. It's like having a 33% resistance to all, that's a huge difference. Also, since she worked on her regeneration too, she regenerates a lot more HP a lot faster as well, those 2 can really help on your green bar in fights.

The problem with +maxhp is it becomes redundant. Accolades + DP will hp cap you (~2409, iirc) causing +maxhp bonuses to go to waste. They help when DP is down, but with enough recharge, it can be made permanent circumventing even that tiny bonus.
Invuln really doesn't get much out of +maxhp. Better to go for +def, +rech, and/or +regen.
Eh... Shields is definitely a tight build, thats for sure.
But AAO gives so much damage potential its not even funny, and since your defense doesnt change like with invince you might as well cherry pick some harmless minions and use them as extra damage buffs.
On a side note, I might just have to try playing with Ebil Rommy with my DM/invuln. The council mobs sitting around dont have -defense like the cimoreans do, and wolves especially make great soul drain bait.
Biggest problem is that the auto hit fluffy is pure negative damage I believe, and thats the lowest resist value I have.
