The Official Guardian Hamidon Raid Thread
I was one of those first timers. I had a FF defender, and I think I ended up on the catch all team as the guy I was told to follow wasn't on that team. Wasn't exactly sure what was going on all the time, but I had fun.
I was a bit curious, as while that defender is my only 50 for now, I do have a few more approaching that level.
Are there any particular build or powerset necessities for tanks aside from having taunt? Does taunt itself have to be slotted any particular way? I know that the hamidon damage ignores normal resistance and defense, so is a self heal a must? Is normal tanker mez protection sufficient, or are breakfrees needed? I've got a shield tank coming up through the 40s, and now that I know these raids exist I'm wondering if she'd be useful.
For other ATs, I imagine scrapper and blaster roles are pretty straightforward. From what I saw, emp and rad seem to be desirable support sets for auras and AM. What about other support sets, are there any that bring anything especially useful?

This is what it means to be a tank!

Yes, you ended up on the "catch-all" team so you'd have buffs going in and a tp/rezzer, if needed. Normally if you arrive a little earlier, we'll get you on a team that is led by the person you would target through.
For this strat, any tanker will work as long as it has two things: taunt and at least mag 10 KB protection. That may mean IOs and/or Acrobatics for some primary powersets, but nothing that's not fairly easy to attain.
Taunt ideally should have at least one level 50 range IO in it. This allows you to stay as far as possible from the mito you're taunting, preventing the splash damage from hitting the scrapper team when they come through, lessening the amount of blue mito aggro you get, and making it easier for the empaths to move around without having to enter the cyto.
Self heals are always helpful, but will sometimes be ineffective. This is because there is a -heal debuff that you can get on you--specifically when taunting Hami. This shouldn't be an issue taunting the yellow mitos, however. Also, that -heal debuff does not affect powers that increase your total HP, such as Dull Pain, so those powers are very nice to have. In addition, any powers that provide +regen are of significant help, since you will occasionally get green mito shots that carry a -regen debuff.
As for mez protection, your normal amount likely won't be enough if you start getting hit by blue mitos, as many powersets don't have fear protection at all. For this reason, the aggro team always has empaths on it to stack Clear Minds on you. So, again, any of the standard tanker mez protection powers will do.
Your Shield Tanker would, indeed, be a viable toon for the aggro team. You would want Active Defense and True Grit specifically, since one provides your mez protection and the other gives both +HP and +resistance to toxic damage (which is the only kind of typed damage in Hami at this point). If you're looking to build it specifically for using at Hami, get as much +HP in True Grit as you can.
As for other ATs and powersets that are uesful, you noted the main ones. Scrappers and blasters, as you mentioned, provide the raw melee and ranged damge that are needed to take down the yellow and blue mitos, respectively.
As for support toons, emps and rads will always be the most highly desireable, due to the nature and power of their buffs and debuffs. After those two, it is a bit of a dropoff to the next tier. Darks and Sonics and FFs are okay, since they each have an AoE toggle that provides some team mez protection, in addition to single target buffs or debuffs that can likewise be useful. And no one should ever complain about having a kin on the team. Most of the rest of them, specifically including stormers, traps, and trick arrows, don't really contribute except with their other powerset (whether holds or ranged damage).
I hope that helps. If you have any specific questions, feel free to drop me a PM.

Is there any chance of one of these Raids being run Villian side?
I appreciate blue is more busy but there are players redside. If the event is advertised in advance, pretty sure we could get one together.*
You guys seem very good at organizing these things so how about it? Red jello for a change?

There is a possibility that Going Rogue will potentially take some of our heroes down a darker path. If that happens, and I think we have enough to run an efficient redside raid, then our guild will be glad to do so--potentially even back-to-back with blueside on Wednesday nights. But for now, it's going to have to be someone else who takes the lead. Incidentally, the strat that we use for the public raids on the Pinnacle server (raids in 40 min or so from entry to exit) is posted on those forums, so anyone who wants to use it, feel free.

Congratulations to everyone who came out to raid tonight. We were able to get started right on time, had a quick spawn, and then shattered the public non-nuke raid record (formerly 28 minutes) with an amazing 25-minute raid. Kudos to everyone who participated!
As always, special thanks to the support folks on my team, in addition to my team leaders: Saint Andrew, Grim Maligne, Kiddygrade, Danger Close, and Sausage Toes. You guys rock!
For those first-timers out there, you got to be a part of history, and I hope you'll return. If you missed out, maybe you can be a part of the next history-making event. So I hope to see you all next week!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. We managed to pull off Guardian's first public no-exit strategy raid, and did so in just 26 minutes. Very nicely done by all present!
As always, special thanks to the support folks on my team, as well as to my team leaders: DESTROIKA, Grim Maligne, Nuclear Target, Rotting Omen, Ariel', and Kiddygrade. Outstanding work, as always!
If there is a raid next week, it will happen without the Twilight Avengers, as we are going to be doing things as a guild during the Going Rogue launch. If someone else wants to step up and lead the raid, by all means do so, and feel free to catch me in-game for the macros I use (if you want them).
We will be back to lead again in two weeks. Hope to see you then!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the raid this evening. We had such a quick spawn that we didn't really have the EoEs to do the "no reset" strat. Despite this, however, we still managed to take Hami down in a crisp 28 minutes--just two minutes over our first no-reset raid two weeks back.
Special thanks, as always, to the support folks on my team, as well as to my team leaders: Street Stalker, Clan Nurse, Celtic Apparition, Grim Maligne, and Kiddygrade. Outstanding work, as usual!
Hope to see you there next week!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night for the raid. We had a reasonably quick spawn time, followed by a record-breaking raid. Thanks, in part, to the "no reset" strategy changes, and the heads up play by everyone involved, we managed to beat our own record for a public raid (without nukes or temps of any kind) with a 23-minute raid.
Thanks as always to the support folks on my team, along with my team leaders: Nuclear Target, Vorador, Kiddygrade, Grim Maligne, and Saint Andrew. You guys were great!
Hope to see everyone next week!

And the record just keeps on dropping! We had a reasonable spawn time last night, and then shattered the record yet again with a 19-minute raid!
Special thanks, as always, to the support folks on my team, as well as to my team leaders: Grim Maligne, Kiddygrade, New Corpsman, Rotting Omen, Nuclear Target, and Clan Nurse. Outstanding work by you all!

I'd like to thank Wulf and the other Team Leaders for a great raid. It was the first one for me on the "new" Hami in a long time. Very enjoyable experience.

Yep I'd never Hami'd before but this mornings raid was a lot of fun. Kudos to the organization and instructions; even clueless me wasn't lost.
Thank you. *cuddles my first REAL HO*

Glad you guys enjoyed it. We do it every week unless otherwise posted here, so hope we'll see you there more frequently.
And, of course, if you're interested in doing that kind of raid on a regular basis (except on both redside and blueside and a little faster), you could always check out our guild at www.twilightavengers.com. We're always looking for high quality people who love to raid.

Thanks again to everyone who came out for the raid tonight. We didn't have the best of team setups, but were still able to manage a 26-minute, no-reset raid.

Thanks to everyone who came out this evening! Not only was the Hive full early, but we had a quick spawn, and then shattered the record for a no-temp public raid with a flat 15-minute raid!!
Special kudos as always to the support folks on my team, as well as to my team leaders: Angelfyre, Snausegez, Immortal XIII, Celtic Apparition, Street Stalker, and Saint Andrew. You guys were absolutely amazing tonight!

Thanks and congratulations to everyone who came out last night for the raid. We cut that record down to 14 minutes, after a reasonable spawn time. And believe it or not, I'm convinced we can shave another minute or two from that time.
A special thanks, as always, to the support folks on my team, along with my team leaders: Rotting Omen, Grim Maligne, Lyger Zero, Angelfyre, and Fake 'n Bake. You guys did outstanding work!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the raid tonight. We had a full zone and were able to get started a little early, which is a good thing, since we had a longer spawn. Still, once Hami showed up, we were able to take him down in 18 min or so despite having a LOT of damage (two full teams of scrappers) and significantly less debuff toons than normal.
Special thanks, as always, to the support folks on my team, along with my team leaders: Lyger Zero, Yukon Jello, Street Stalker, Vorador, Angelfyre, and Grim Maligne.

Was there a Hamidon run last week?
There is usually a little blurb with how quickly you all took down Hamidon,
Also, will there be one this week? Seeing that it's the day before Thanksgiving, I just wanted to make sure it was still on so I can update the Facebook page.
Thank you.

That was a fun first Hami, Thanks WULF.
Thanks also to Street Stalker, my team leader, for the excellent job & invite.
Glad you enjoyed it, Auntie!
It was easy to enjoy this run...we had a quick spawn (only 5 DE went down before Hami appeared), and then followed that with a flat 15-minute raid. We were chatting and the Hive was mostly empty 25 minutes after the scheduled start time. Nice work by everyone involved.
As always, a special 'thank you' to the support folks on my team, along with my team leaders: Grim Maligne, Kiddygrade, Street Stalker, Celtic Apparition, and Ariel'. Outstanding work!
As of right now, I AM planning to raid next Wednesday even if i19 drops on Tuesday. After all, the Hamidon raid awards 4 incarnate shards, and I have a feeling that everyone is going to want to participate. If that plan changes, I'll post it here.
Hope to see you there!

As always a well-organized and executed Raid. Many thanks for TA and Wulf.
I admit these runs are really late for me and I am often in bed but when I do get to them, they're always quick and easy.
Will you be running multiple runs back-to-back after i19? So everyone can pick up a HO, the merits and the shards on consecutive runs?

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the raid tonight. It was a pretty quick spawn, followed by a 34 minute raid. I know that, once again, we had a number of first-timers along for the ride, and the zone filled up quickly, so I hope everyone is planning ahead for next week.
