I'll try and give this one a shot. Although I'm in the same boat, not all that great at costume design, much less ones that have that really slick villainous look.
Cant' hurt to try though.

Female Cenobite
EDIT: Here's my shot at making Frank.
It's difficult to make it look like he has no skin, cause its hard to do recreate tendons (white parts) but hopefully this is okay.
Here are some Cenobites I made.
You'll have to explain to him that there's a greater variety than these, and that you can significantly change the body types. I just used two of my characters as templates, so there's not a huge variation in their sizes. But this will help give him an idea of the possibilities, especially of the faces and extra details. I meant to do one with blast goggles, but forgot.

General Cenobite costume.
I also took a stab at making Frank, as well.
As far as powers go, the new Pain Domination set should fit perfectly for a Cenobite, whether they summon their tormented victims to serve them (Necro Mastermind), or they just blast their foes with the energies of The Leviathan/Hell (pretty much any Corr set would work RP wise)

There are some nice ones.
Weird sidenote, the female with the head peeled open (next to the skinless wonder on the left) - there was a girl at one year's Comic Con who did that costume. Perfectly. She won their award that basically stuck her in one of the movies as an extra, but also I'm pretty sure got a job in the industry for that.
And where's the one with the CD sticking in it? o.0 or am I thinking of something else?

Cenobite - I just used full masks, bio-organic head to foot, a medium red base shade and the far right red for the bio-organic texture. Crystal crown thing (bones?), surgeons mask, and Clavicle accents, chain, and ring belt.
I have a toon already named Screaming Meatsack, who looks rather like this guy, only he's got the exposed brain head.

Thought I'd give it a go. Kind of shied away from the black that cenobites seem to prefer, though.

I was talking with some friends in game yesterday, and I mentioned this concept to them. I had an idea that this would make for a really kick-butt VG, with a cool theme for the characters.

I'll try and unravel the mysteries of the Lament Configuration before I try..... gurk!
After so many stabs at poor Frank, I decided to leave him in peace and try my hand at a female cenobite.
Harder than it looks... since COV is lacking in gorish items. However with the right face and some facial decor in dark red, one manages amazingly scary results, methinks. I tried to make it look as if her claws (Stalker, Claws\Regen) were actually part of her, like stuck into her flesh or something....
EDIT 1: I give in, I wanted to take a stab at Frank too!
And here it is.
Hands and claws are very nice. Very well done.

We haven't made it yet, so I'd be willing to have it on any given server if enough people would be interested and we could get some sort of concensus. I don't picture this as being anyone's *main* by any stretch, but just a group to hit occasionally and maybe do a few special events on Halloween or Friday the 13th's or something.

I work with him and will be showing him this thread early tomorrow morning. If it doesn't convince him to play, we'll have peace of mind that this game was truly not for him.
Ether, may I suggest Justice? It's a selfish request, but my favorite lowbie villains are on Justice, and I was thinking if this Schrodinger's villain we call my friend takes this game, it would be cool for him to have your Villain Group and my tutelage on the same server.

I thought I would take a stab at this to see what I could come up with.

BTW, all, I did make a villain over on Justice and will work up towards getting a VG formed for the name. If anyone's interested, feel free to look me up online. Just kinda going by the usual Cenobite traits - check out them online if you're not overly familiar with the look and the names.
And if anyone has Justice inf to traded for Pinnacle inf, let me know, too.

A coworker of mine is addicted to WoW. Frequently do I try to persuade him to join City of Villains (Villains preferably, as he has a very dark side). He has been hesitant to give the game a try, but after he and I talked more, his obsession and love for the movie Hellraiser came into play. The topics intertwined, and he gave me a challenge:

Anyone else hear the gauntlet hit the floor?
Here's what I ask: Please, for the sake of a truly awesome person joining the City, make a City of Villains homage character for the Cenobites of the Hellraiser series, listing powers. You can delete it right after you take pictures, or run crazy with it. I just need some photos proving that it can be done, so that this guy will look the way of City of villains.
I hope this sounds like a fun way to whittle away at time. Thanks! ^-^

P.S. Yes, I am trying to make one, too. Unfortunately, my sense of costume design is wretched.
P.P.S. Edit: Image is gory and possibly inappropriate for those that dislike such things. Here is a picture of the Cenobites, collectively. His favorites are Butterball (Near the center, with black, circular glasses) and Frank (Though technically not a Cenobite, the skinless fellow on the right in the fancy suit).
