High end Night Widow build guide
I'd suggest you get Combat Jumping for the Defense and maneuverability it provides, add the Zephyr IO Set, and use the Raptor Pack for travel. Get one in the Atlas Mayhem, then drop 10k in Grandville every time you need to replace it.
Now I expect TopDoc to come point out how I'm wrong. But that's OK. I like when he does that. I usually learn something from it.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
As to Summon Widow, it doesn't really fit into my play style. I tend to move fast on my Widow, and pets aren't very good at keeping up. But on a high Recharge build, the patron pets are usually a very good idea. They're fairly strong, and massive recharge can make them perma. Plus the new Expedient Reinforcement set is sexy.
The temp Fly jetpacks are a bit on the slow side. I'd still take a real travel power, like SS or SJ.
As to CJ, I'd say take it if you need it for the IO sets you can slot in it. Personally I like the control it gives in combat, especially on melee chars. Super Speed with well slotted Hurdle and CJ really lets you get around both in and out of combat. And you can slot CJ with an LotG and a full set of Blessings. But if you don't need it for sets or movement, then feel free to skip it.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

just an fyi, but hurdle gives the same jump speed as SJ, just without the height. slot hurdle and CJ and you got a mini travel power w/o suppression. raptor pack gets you height if you need it.

Current Project: Hard Goodbye, StJ/Nin
Retired: Blitzwulf, Claws/Nin (50); Perdition's Blade, Night Widow (50)
Hurdle only gives half the speed of Super Jump, but that's still very respectable.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

The first build is so 2008. Even the second build is out of date. I've got a respec planned for tonight that includes PvP IOs and a few other minor tweaks. But this build has reached the points where it would take billions of Infamy under current market prices, so it no longer qualifies as "high end". It's reached ludicrous.

let's see the 2009 model.
For all the purple sets of 5, swap out the Dmg IO and replace with the Dmg/Rech and you lose only 7% Dmg but gain 29% rech.
Would that not be better?
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

Ahh yes, I see your point
Hi, just a noob question Im sure, but you refer to mental training in both builds on this thread, but no powers within widow are called mental training. can you clarify for me as am liking the build and considering making one to try out.
Thanks
Yes, there is a power named Mental Training. It is a part of the Widow Teamwork selection of powers, available to you after you have done the Level 24 Forced Respec. The power is available at Level 22.

Hi thanks for your help, will have another check
I know this Thread is a bit old just wondering if there is an up to date form of the build posted originally or up to date form of the 2nd build.
i am interested to see what the new inherants do to all the builds.
Casey is talking about I19 moving the Fitness Pool to Inherant Powers.

I am loving my widow..i love the cone, follow up, and the AoE it has, plus all the team friendly toggles and such. Its very scrapper and stalker-ish. Once fitness comes for free, i am wondering what one slot wonders will be good for this AT. Also, If you didnt use purples at all, what kind of build would we be looking at? I am basicly wanting to keep the high def and team friendly concept with having the ability to solo and kill things at an awesome pace.
all in all, i like this toon better than any scrapper or stalker I have played cause it has a little bit of everything. My only complaint? no self heal unless you get aid self, and not much in the name of resistance. (kinda like super reflexes i guess)
Whats awesome though is you get a few VEAT's on a team and we rock even more so!
I would love to see an updated i19 build for this. I have the 2nd version saved for when I get the inf saved to build it. what I have so far is impressive with most of the purples missing (filled in with orange sets currently)
I've been amassing inf across all 15 of my toons for this build
Thank you Topdoc for posting your builds and thoughts, I have been looking for build that was close to my play style. I modified yours for i19, and it turned out freaking awesome, I have my single target attacks, destroy mob attacks, and even a team helper. I mostly play melee ATs, and this is right up there with them now.

So... Issue 19.5 is out, and I was wondering if we might see that build, especially with the level shift for either attack rate or damage (accuracy seems pointless, and though endurance may drain some, 4 slots in interent stamina should offset that when slotted well).
Well, my interest was aroused by this build which had nice features either on global +RECH or +DEF. However, this build is no longer viable.
I allowed myself to have a go at 'translating' it for Issue 19. Unfortunatly, I failed to have the huge +RECH bonus but wanted nonetheless to let you see it and most importantly, know your c&c.
I am not a Mid's Hero designer pro, far from it actually so it is obvious that I missed some important points

Well one of your problems is that you are missing nearly 20% from slotting crushing impact. Your melee def is sky high, so dropping a slot in CT: Def would be good. Id move the Mask Presence hami's to TT:Maneuvers along with a 7.5% saving you other slots. Doctored wounds in Aid Self gives you another 5% recharge when you add another slot too it.
Just some thoughts.
In your build you use Soul Mastery which is what I am planning to take. I am wondering if you ever considered the Summon Widow power?
I thought of another question. I am a 60 month vet, which means I don't have to take the prelimary travel powers to get the travel power. I am planning to go with Super Jump, do you think I'd be ok with out combat jumping, since I don't have to take it.
