Another great video Michelle, you do great work. I look forward to seeing your name in the credits on a bigger screen someday

Dear NCsoft, if you go through with this shutdown you've guaranteed you'll not see another dime from me on any project you put out, ever.

Quick amusing story about the voice acting from the guys... I recorded @Dust Raven first, so that John (my husband) would know the timing against which he'd have to say "We've become gods, Marcus." So DR sits next to me at the computer, puts on the headset/mike, I cue him to tell him to start, and he does a take of, "My God..."

John, sitting at HIS computer (and playing COH with the sound off while we're working), without looking up, immediately follows that with, "... it's full of stars!"

And all three of us promptly lose it laughing, thus ruining the take.

She's one of the front runners in that contest, for sure.

And that video had me frozen to my seat. Some kind of freaky awesome right there.

We do actually have some... however, we've agreed that we're saving the outtakes for our next major GROUP project (not the Machinima contest thing, but our delightful little endeavour called... "CoVideo Hell").

That project, by the way, will be a series of roughly 10-minute non-stop hilarity segments chock full of CoX goodness (and badness).

Yep! And we've currently got enough material for "CoVideo Hell", "CoVideo Hell Version 2.0", and "Revenge of CoVideo Hell". Should be quite amusing. Even got my own website for it (COVIDEOHELL.COM) - although that's still in the construction phase.

I suggest using a watermark. Something a little transparent and unobtrusive (probably a symbol instead of words so the viewer isn't tempted to read it), but it's THERE and would be a LOT harder to remove without butchering the video.

[/ QUOTE ]

A very interesting suggestion - way back when I first started doing videos, I didn't have a logo. Now I do. If I can figure out how to insert one in such a fashion that it doesn't obviously distract, I will certainly give it a go. I will also see about revamping my end credits (I still intend to keep them there, but I promise, I will see if I can tool them down).

The opening credits however (NCSoft's, Cryptic, and especially mine) are staying as-is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm...

Well, if you could get some original music and background imagery, you wouldn't have to credit Shogun: Total war, and that would shave off probably ten seconds off of the ending credits. Maybe go with a smaller font so you can fit more words on the screen (though tbh, i think the size of the letters now helps preserve what they say at small resolutions, so it's probably best to keep them that size).

Ah well, I'm sure you'll come up with something. Looking forward to your next project =)

FWIW, I've been tinkering with the end credits, and while still using their original source, I've got them down in length by half (from 39 seconds to 21). As for composing my own credits music, I don't quite have the resource material for doing that yet, although if I can scrounge the extra money, picking up the World Music soundscape stuff for AcidPro might be a good place to start.

Sadly, no, not to the best of our knowledge. Partly why we (mostly she ) WENT with this concept was to... encourage development in this area.

MOSTLY, it was to give a nod to the anniversary of the in-story event, but we're not averse to "plugging" our little game-related wish-list in the process.

Of course, she doesn't relate MY side of this little anecdote...

She's providing DR with direction (emote, inflection, etc), and they're going through several "rehearsal" takes. So... I'm hearing "My god!.." 3 or 4 times from the other side of my computer. I don't HEAR her say that "This one's for real", and didn't know that was their first attempt at a "live" take.

At least I do a really good Dave Bowman...

She also doesn't mention something that DR said when she first broached the idea of getting us to voice-act Marcus and Stephan, the general intended "feel" of the video, the serious (as opposed to humorous) tone.

Dust_Raven: "So... I shouldn't sound like Space Ghost?" (a voice HE does really well )

And as for doing a short film, possibly of one of the TFs, we've discussed re-telling the Citadel TF as something OTHER than:

"Go."

"Hunt."

"Kil Council."

Sorry... personal peeve of mine showing.

Something people didnt seem to talk about alot so far in this thread was the voice acting. I just want to give a quick props to that cause it's one of the things that really came out and "got me". The interaction between Stephan and Marcus was spot on, and their voices just sounded great, what I would imagine LR and States would sound like.

[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it! I sure as heck had fun doing it, and for that matter PLANNING it... went back and listened to all the game trailers in which LR actually said anything of consequence, kinda looking for the feel, I guess.

One thing that's been mentioned elsewhere in this thread - all five of us have played PnP RPGs for decades, and have run our own games for others extensively, as well. Made it natural for all of us to "get into" a role, however short, make it "live".

Not surprising that my own "specialty" (so to speak) has always been villains... they're the characters that most motivate the heroes to do great things. Nobody feels righteous anger toward a hurricane. I feel I owe it to my players to give them "villains they LOVE to hate", and wanted to bring that with me, here.
