Live Feedback: Issue 12: Costumes & The Creator!
I really like the presets to help make characters faster.

Nice pics of the capes finally. I saw patterns and thought of body stuff, but never thought that meant capes, until I actually got in the costume creator and played around during beta. Not sure about everyone else since wings and trenchcoats and so on replace capes... but I for one think the 4 new capes might be the best piece of i12 art (since roman sets were *in* the game months ago, just not *in* it ).
QR: Er...I rather thought certain of those Roman sets were NOT available to characters. You're saying that they are now?
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Female bane/crab spider costumes look ridiculous.
Of the Roman NPCs listed, the face mask and cape of #2 is Statesman's face mask and cape, and it not available to player characters.
The same for the face mask of #5 who is a signature NPC in Cimerora and like most (all?) sig NPCs, has a sig costume piece not available to players.
Everything else pictured is available to players, once unlocked by the Imperius Task/Strike force in Cimerora.

Yup, sorry for any confusion over the image. We've changed it to reflect the costume items that players have access to.

Anyone else having problems with costume colours?
Here's picture of my problem. The smaller picture on the left is my costume as it looks in the creator and "choose costume" window. On the right you can see how it actually looks, with the blue missing from the chest detail and wrong colour gloves.

Bug with the costume creator:
If you have costume tokens, it defaults to using those. Except that it doesn't. It says it will, but it will take the price out of your influence or infamy, not out of your costume tokens. If you don't have enough inf, it will let you click the button to make the change, but it won't make the change.
Steps to duplicate:
Take a character with little or no inf, but with at least one costume token, to the tailor. Make enough changes to be more than you have in inf. Click the button to save changes. Observe that nothing happens.
Work-around:
On the tailor screen, before you make any changes, click the "pay with inf" button once to turn it on, then click it back ("pay with token") to set it to costume token. Now it will work normally.
From this, I surmise that the flag to pay with costume tokens is not being set to match the user interface setting when you first bring up the editing window.
Hey, that's so awesome that you figured this out, it was driving me insane last night.
I kept making a Roman costume for my main and every time I clicked "Accept", nothing happened.
Please note that the current situation permits a nifty workaround for the "one uniform per VEAT" situation. If you want more than one type of Arachnos Uniform on your VEAT, all you need to do is prior to unlocking your next slot, edit your first slot to what you want the new slot to be.
When you unlock a new slot, it will duplicate the first slot. Then you simply need to go back and revert the first slot to what it used to be and voila! Two (or three, or four, or five) different uniforms!

Should Wolf Spiders be able to access the Crab and Bane options from the start? I don't usually want less choice, but it seems wrong in this case, and hamstrings the potential awesomeness of when you actually get to level 24.
Where did the various Bell options go for the chest details?
There used to be at least two and now they're both gone.

JLove loses sexy points for making the female Widow boots a clunky heel rather than a stiletto. Bad JLove. Bad.
The new patterns are nice though.
The Roman styles are worthless, as far as I'm concerned, since they're tucked into the back of a TF. No sexy points there.

That's a known bug.
Also: Jay is sexy, regardless of how much I rib him over jet packs and other stupid stuff

Also, as noted in previous issues, Jay designs costumes, but doesn't handle how they're given to players.
Please don't penalize the Jay Sexiness Points based on costume rewards

If you wanna pick nits, you actually can blame Jay for the Roman stuff being a TF reward. The costumes were made and put into the game's files quite a while ago. When Posi saw how great they turned out, he decided that they were too good to either add to the costume creator or make a vet reward. He wanted them to be a reward for having done something great in-game. When the ITF came along, he decided that was it.
So if Jay's work wasn't so incredibly sexy, we'd have been able to make our bland costume-wearing Romans right from the start, a long time ago.

I dunno about you guys but I think the VEATS costumes fail in a big way. They look great and all but the generic look and everyone having that look was just silly. If you were on last night you saw nothing but VEATS running around Mercy. They all look alike! We're all generic looking...we all look like NPCs. It's really sad. It's a shame we can't combine some of those cool costume pieces of the VEATS with the regular stuff. Instead we have almost zero flexibility with the costume and it looks ridiculous. I can't wait to level to 10 so I can get some better threads.
The new regular costume patterns are decent. I am really looking forward to the next costume pack where I hope there are some significant upgrades to the costumes.
The Roman gear looks good but I can't see myself doing that TF more than once. It is just too lengthy. I think having to unlock that gear for each toon is a bad, bad idea but c'est la vie. I hope this never happens again because not all of us have those many hours to spend on each toon
Good job by the DEVS on i12 and these are my only concerns. Nothing too huge but it is troubling when a vast majority ask for things and are ignored (mixing VEAT uniforms and numerous costume suggestions). Anyway, I know it's not easy for the DEVS and I know they're doing a good job!
VEAT lady models need Stiletto's like the mobs have in game.
Nuff Said.

OTOH, they are still much better than Kheldian Nova and Dwarf forms that, being powers that overwrite your avatar, have zero customization options. At least VEATs can change their costume's colors
Issue 12: Midnight Hour brought us a few changes to our wardrobe and organized the closet a bit, the two main features to discuss are:
NEW ARMOR COSTUMES
Through their accomplishments, players unlock the new Roman and Greek inspired armor costume set.
Improved Character Creator
Players may now select a costume set theme from the new Costume Sets drop down menu in the Character creation process and the Tailor (for Heroes) or Facemaker (for Villains).
The Costume Sets revolve around existing and new Costume sets. Some Costume Sets are unlocked through gameplay achievements, Veteran Rewards (i.e. the Boxer set) or by Costume Pack purchase (i.e. the Good Versus Evil Justice and Sinister costumes or the Wedding Pack).
