Invention Sets - Printable Spreadsheet

Greetings,

Longtime player/lurker and not really a forum participant. Just some guy that made a spreadsheet I thought I'd share.

A quick background.. When I9 was released, I basically ignored inventions for a while. Then I started accumulating all the loot and my storage slots kept filling up. I finally figured I might as well learn what to do with it all. Next came the information overload and the fact that it was in many different places. Much kudos to the fine contributors at ParagonWiki for distilling a bunch of it. However, I don't like to constantly look things up on websites to find the info I need. Give me a hardcopy to flip through on my desk and I'm set.

My goal here was just to have a handy checklist sort of thing with indications of where I would likely find the bits of the sets I wanted (other than the consignment market). To that end, what I've done is copy the information from the Invention Set tables on ParagonWiki into a 3-page spreadsheet, printable on 8.5"x11" pages (landscape). Oh, and you'll probably want to use a colour printer.

Features:
<ul type="square">[*] tables organized by category, set level, and rarity (I tried to coax some patterns out of the data which is why they don't exactly match the ones on PW)[*] colour-coded drop pools and relative set bonuses[*] no numbers! (because I don't have any interest (yet) in working out any stats)[/list]Link to the PDF version
Link to the spreadsheet itself (ODS format)

Hope that helps anyone looking for this sort of thing. Feedback is certainly welcome though I don't stop by here that often. I'll be attempting to keep it up to date as the grey boxes on the sheet get discovered.

Cheers!

nice work.

My feedback is something I just posted earlier today on the paragonwiki forums, which is, why have all the set bonuses listed and not have numbers next to them? If I want to compare what the sets offer and decide which I want to go for, that would be helpful.

I agree. Thank you for puting in the effort

Not to look a gift horse in house, but the % numbers would be a huge help.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you found it somewhat useful. Another reason I left out the numbers was that I didn't want to stretch the page out past letter-sized paper.

But what the heck, here's some new links... (not sure how to change the original post)

- Link to the letter-sized (8.5"x11") PDF with no numbers
- Link to the legal-sized (8.5"x14") PDF with numbers
- Link to the ODS spreadsheet

Hope that helps you out a bit more..

Cheers,

That is awsome, exactly what I have been looking for. I have been using the wiki one but this will look nice clipped to the wall over my puter, hehe. Great job..

Simply Awesome !!

PDFs scale down nicely.
I just printed it at 75% and it fit on 8 1/2 by 11 paper.

Hello folks,

I've updated the spreadsheets to include what's currently known about the new sets in Issue 11. I've also removed the one sheet that doesn't contain the % numbers to simplify the maintenance of it a bit.

Also note that most of the past links in this thread aren't valid any more (sorry!).. Please use these links:

- Invention Sets PDF
- The spreadsheet itself (ods format)

In addition to these, I've had this next one around for a little while, though I haven't posted about it before. It's a spreadsheet with information about the common IOs.

- Common Inventions PDF

Enjoy!

This is great information. I printed out the original version of this, made soon after I9 came out, and have it on my desk for constant reference.

The new version is very nice, but the colors on the pdf wreak havoc with my b&amp;w printers (at home and work). Specifically, the purples and greens don't translate well (i.e.-at all). Is there a way you could do an Excel version of this valuable reference guide so that we could change the colors/backgrounds ourselves in order to print it out as needed?

Thanks, and, again, great work. This is the best format for inventions and bonuses I've ever found.
