And boy is that clock speeding along...
I'm having the same invisible cursor issue. I've tried the target change and it works, however it doesn't look like it should. Is there another change to driver or other so that it will look like it should.
My os is vista 32-bit with a Nvidia Geforce 7900 gs any fixes that would help i would be extremely greatful, i've been trying to get this fixed for the past two weeks, for just about as long as i've had the computer

I have INVIDIA Geforce 6150 LE running.
I'm not sure if this will help, but I'm also running AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ CPU.

You dont have a real graphics card, onboard video is very bad for this game especially with Vista. You best bet is to get another graphics card. Even if this card worked you would get the worst performance with it.

Nope, that's the way it looks. The only way this is gonna get fixed is when nVidia decides to release a decent set of Vista drivers.

I'm also having a cursor problem (used the fix, and now I have a cursor... BUT...) my scroller on my mouse (touchpad since it's a laptop) doesn't zoom in or out. Do you have a fix for this one?

okay i have vista home premium and am running a PC that could easily run CoH before. Nvdia graphics card. My cursor is sometimes there and sometimes not but my big problem is not the curosr, its my graphics. everything looks really bright and weird, how do i fix this?

For MOST Nvidia graphics issues there IS NO FIX as the current and beta drivers are NOT fully optimized, and in some cases, barely compatible with Vista as it is.
About the only thing I can say is keep trying the newest drivers until you find one that gives you the performance that you're looking for, or at the very least, allows you to play the game without crashing.

Are you using software from the manufacturer of the mouse? Just curious. My zoom works in Vista for both my mouse and my touchpad. The touchpad, I did install software for(Synaptics controller software), but the mouse is a Logitech V220 wireless mouse, and I didn't install anything for it, other than what Vista autoinstalled for it.
Does your zoom/scroll work outside of the game? I know, stupid question, but I just want to make sure we are looking into the correct problem.

CoX runs beautifully with my 8800's in SLI... I had concerns but the beta drivers for my X-FI seem to be working beautifully.

Thanks so much for posting these fixes. Everyone of them was usefull and worked. Especially missing pointers bug, and low framerates. I've been playin for a while on xp on my not so good pc. Then I just recently bought a brand new gaming laptop and all my games ran great except this one. I have geforce 7900gs, 2 gigs ddr2 ram, and intel core 2 duo. Should be able to run game fine but for some reason I was getting really low framerates till I tried the fix. Now i'm gettin a steady 60fps +.
Here is a link to Vista Hotfixes that are not publicly available to all people via windows update. There are quite a few hot fixes that are specifically for home premium or ultimate vista systems so you guys may want to check these out. A couple of these fixes are driver related. What I would do is go to microsofts support site and type in the kb number of the file and search for that. Like for instance vista has issues with copying files over the network and kb931770 fixes this issue.

OK, you are now my hero. You have no idea how often I KNOW what hotfix I need, but having to go through the hassle of calling Microsoft to get it is ridiculous. This site is fantastic.

One other fix I want to add. I know some folks hate the User Access Control. There is a way to stop it on CoX without actually turning it all the way off. Just copy your current city of heroes folder to another location. Delete the old folder. Do a regular install using the cd/dvds for any of the city of games. Instead of repatching everything just copy the contents of your city of heroes folder back to its original location and overwrite all the files there. This fix is for the people that used the updater to install the game instead of the cd/dvds.

The scroller on the mouse works fine in all programs, except CoX. It is a microsoft mouse, with the most updated Microsoft drivers for Vista. Thanks.

Very odd. I don't have any ideas on that one yet. I only have 2 vista machines right now with the game on them, and they are identical machines, so I can't duplicate the problem. I have more machines I can test out tomorrow though, and will see if I can figure something out. Is your mouse just a regular 3 button with scrollwheel Microsoft mouse, or is it a fancy one with multiple buttons? Just trying to make sure I have the right info to try and duplicate this.

Any BSOD's out there for you ATI Catalyst 7.3 users on Vista?

Workaround if you are:
1 - Invoke the RUN command (either by clicking Start and Run, if you have Run enabled in the Start Menu, or by holding the Windows key and pressing R).
2 - Type SERVICES.MSC and hit Enter.
3 - Locate the service called ATI External Event Utility
4 - Right-click it and select Properties
5 - Under Startup type, pull the menu down and select Disabled.
6 - Click Apply and OK.
7 - Reboot. The computer should start up normally.
ok heres my vista problem
so I upgrade from XP to vista home premium. only needed to change the drivers on my sound card and everything works perfect.
I fire up coh and wasnt too surprized to find that it had issues with vista. I had been keeping up with the forums so I knew what to expect.
I am running a quad SLI set up (two Nvidia GeForce 7800 GT)
Pentium D 950
mobo is the P5 N32 SLI-DELUXE
I have 2 gigs of sys ram in stripe set
and vista is running on a SATA RAID 1
the coh bugs I got was no sound (although I could have had my settings in the game turned all the way down)
most notably is some wierd graphic stair step trailing effect and a white wash of light.
so I go to Nvidia's web site and look for the drivers and all they have listed is
GeForce and TNT2
GeForce 8800 series
GeForce Go 7 series
Quadro
RIVA 128 /128ZX
so I have no idea where to find the drivers for my card.
I tried googling it and came up with everything but what I need.
help me please.

Update to my previous post.
I found out that there was an updated driver dated a few days ago (March 28th). I loaded this one up and it seemed to take care of the problem.

Not to be rude, but you're probably doing something wrong.
Right click the shortcut for CoV and select Properties. Now copy and paste the contents of the Target box into a post so I can see what it says, just to make sure you got it right.
Oh, and what version video driver are you using?
