What the heck is Wacky Races?

Not as good as some people are selling it.

But nice catch to the OP.

Ditto! I was already creating her with the tophat. . .and with the trench. . I mean leather jacket and buttcape. . .hmm. .

Wow, nice catch! Wish I'd made the connection. It may say something about the mean age of the CoX population since it took this long for someone to finally notice and say something about it. I'll overlook the fact that the OP seemed to actually be remembering The Perils of Penelope Pitstop. *heh*

I agree that this info should go into the Did you know? thread and/or the Inside Jokes and Obscure References thread.

Oh, and thanks a heap for putting that stupid Flying Machines theme song back into my head after all these years!

Nab him! Grab him! Stab him! Jab him! Stop that pigeon, NOW!

If you get the "Saturday Morning Cartoons" music CD, they have a remixed version of that song combined with the Johnny Quest theme. They also have a bunch of other good song remixes, such as Gigantor, H.R. Puffnstuff, Underdog, and Speed Racer.

Blasphemy!

It was even better then the Laff-a-lympics.

Also, Dick Dastardly has always been in my top ten of favorite villains.

Him and Snidely Whiplash are tied for my top villain of all time slot.

Oh sure they aren't *GOOD* at being villains.

But hell if they aren't classic <,<

It's thanks to Snidely Whiplash and Dick Dastardly that I have such a love of Handlebar mustaches.

IIRC, "Perils of Penelope Pitstop" preceded the wonderment of the way-out "Wacky Races".

Hmm. Yes. Proof that playing whilst sick and ill is not good for you. Both still wear glasses though. Perhaps that's what I cottoned on to.

And how'd I miss Slag, Blubber, and Ant??

Oh, yea. Born in '89....

Still, I've seen most of that series, best friend's dad has 'em all on tape (now dvd) and watches them while we play.. err... DnD. Also, Hong Kong Phooey has inspired many a monk, while Underdog definently has some paladin followers... and bards.

Then I remembered it was over 11 years it came out, and now I feel so very, very old...

You can't go wrong with the right Reverend. And the fact that the Ramones are on that CD, too, makes it even cooler. And, by extension, everyone who owns a copy.

ps. my fav track on that cd is face to face's cover of popeye...man that number kicks it (even just a little more than helmet's cover of gigantor, one of my fav bands).

Hah! I think this CD came up in one of those cool 'do a random mix of ALL your music playlist' thread things that was up in the games board a year or so ago...

I love that cd. Hard to pick favorite tracks...Hong Kong Phooey & Groovy Ghoulies are 2 favs off the top of my head. The liner notes are pretty cool too.

Random trivia...who was on that cd that's now appearing in "The L Word"....life is weird!
