Official Thread: Pocket D Changes
I did a cage match with a friend and after the match ended (he won) the game immediately crashed. Not only that, but I cannot log back into that character. I get to the Pocket D load screen and the game crashes again. I have tried about 5 times and cannot log back into the game at all on that character. What should I do now?
Hi In the test server I got a Big Time badge explaining the monkey fight club situation, and I was wondering how I got it?I cant find the badge in any sites or books or I didnt nose around in here enough TNX!
The arena matches with Hero vs. Villian now available is awesome! This may be the answer to make PVP extremely popular. I think most people want to do PvP in fair fight. Not worry about getting ganked or having every possible mob dragged into the fight. I would like to see the MM pets auto spawned at the start of a cage match or at least be able to summon during the count down. That way players start out on even ground.
What would further improve arena would be being able to select a critter type. Especially signature critters like Statesman. Have the player be able to select the critter, level and whether it is a boss, eb, hero or av. The level min would be an even level mob. You could then work up to the level 53 Statesman. No xp or kills counting toward badges to prevent farming, but just a way to hone skill towards difficult critters.

There are two new badges one by the couch and one in the center of the cage requiring you to be in a duel or observing one.

You could always do Hero v. Villain matches in the Arena, just now you can both go to the same Arena station to do it.
Dominators don't need mitigation from their secondaries. Even if they did, there's ice (slows), psi (-recharge), and fire and elec (death).

now that there are explore badges in Pocket D, can we get a Teleporter Beacon there?

I like that idea, but I'm pretty sure that it wont go.
Sorry to rain on your parade.

Didn't know. It is much more fun to take/make the challenge in person and answer questions like does a L50 PB have any chance against a L40 Poison.

By the way the answer is no (8-0)

Don't think that will happen, because of the VIP gold card from GvE.

A Pocket D teleport beacon would help alot. It would be like 4 beacons in 1 in a way. Pocket D and the 3 doors to the hero and villain zones. It wouldn't be too bad in my opinion.
OMG...MORE EXPLORATION BADGES!!! I HAVE TO GO ON ASAP!(mega badge hunter...but i still stink at it)
I got gassed by a monkey while watching the monkey fights, I should sue DJ Zero for damages
OK. now that we have so many people with the GvsE pass...
can we relocate the 'spawn point' for the VIP teleport to someplace other than the STAGE?
Cos, yanno, we might actually want to use this as a venue for an event (costume contest, pun contest, etc etc etc)... and having people spawning on the stage kinda messes with that in a rather intrusive way.
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
Many truly great ideas are an act of simple clarity! Professor that is a wonderful idea I hope the Dev's act on this.

ummm, when I spawn in Pocket D, I end up in the Gold VIP room. I haven't ever landed next to DJ Zero on the stage.
but you spawn in pocket D on the Stage in the Vip Tiki Room
BTW nice Touch on the Test server having a Banished Pantheon Mask as a bartender

Some of things I'd like to see added to the place to keep me coming? "XP events" / XP rewards for interaction, but im not sure how it could be implimented without someone trying to find a way to abuse it. Like XP for different Toons that you entered "carousal mode" with, not much and with a max cap per person talked to on that mode. Maybe even more if the characters converge near the bar & more so on the dance floor. Another suggestion would be to blanket wipe all Player names in Pocket D & names/identities & levels only being given out if said player accepted. this could add an air of mystery, & get more people talking. I can also see the aspect of trash talking coming about with this. "wha?! You talking to my lady?! Lets step out to the kiosk! And for added pleasure, have some of these matches displayed on a big screen for people in the club to see. You could flash a big "Winner and Loser" across the screen afterwards like they do badges.
Yeah i know, it'll never happen, but thought these would be hysterical options.

I do not like the fact that the 'monkey fight arena' (a "den of iniquity" type of thing if ever I have seen it) is located on the HERO side of the bar. My heroes do not approve of such a thing, and having it on their side makes the place even more disreputable to them. Put all of the shady and questionable things red-side. If i'm in the blue side bar I want to be surrounded by virtuous things.
A no attack "Group-Friendly" Defender is like a "Team Friendly" basketball player who won't dribble, run, or shoot, under any circumstances. "I'm a PASSER."
wow...you obviously never read many X-men comics. Wolverine was...
A. a Gambler.
B. a Drinker.
C. a Womanizer.
D. a patron of many a gentlemens club.
Being a hero doesn't mean you can't have a realistic view on life and only think pure thoughts. It means you do what is right no matter the cost to yourself. Pocket D is a RAVE club. It isn't a church. Therefore, there may be a few "disreputable" things in there....deal.
I'd like to see Pocket D become a bit of a hub. Make mishes for varying levels from there. I'd like to see those people(and tiki masks) in green do more than just spout off. More portals to other zones. Hell, a base portal to there would be cool even.
edit...Ideas for possible changes....
Base teleporter beacon.
You talk to DJ Zero and he says..
"Hey (character name)! Having a good time? Could I ask you for help with something? Seems that a pair of Cornelius and Joe's Rikti monkeys managed to mate. The offspring got down into the maintenance room and are tearing things up! Could you go down there and take care of them? I'll make it worth your while."
This gives you a mission to defeat all Rikti monkeys in the Maintenance room. Upon completion you return to DJ zero where he gives you his thanks and a badge...I dunno..I suck at naming things. I doubt Monkey Spanker will fly. The badge is the needed component for creating a beacon for the teleporter to Pocket D.
As far as competing with the VIP card..no it doesn't. The VIP card can be used ANYWHERE by anyone, where this requires you to have a base and a teleporter as well as do a mish to get the beacon. On top of that, you have to be in your base to use it.

And that's perfectly fine, as nothing prevents Wolverine from moseying over to the red side for some shady dealing, and to check on the monkey fights with a catgirl on his lap. But not every hero is like Wolverine. For every 'realistic' shady anti-hero, there's a virtuous and upstanding hero who would want his or her social scene to be reasonably upstanding and innocent.

But keeping it on the hero side makes it easier for the good guys to monitor whats going on in there. Put it on the other side and the place will go straight to heck.
Personally, I'd like to see a tailor put into Pocket D. That way we don't have to leave Pocket D after earning event costume pieces.
Just because its on the 'blue' side of the bar and near the hero portals doesn't mean that's a "heros only" section of the bar. I've often seen villains on that side, PC and NPC. And while you may find issue with watching Rikti Monkeys fight as far as I can tell its a legitimate business run fairly. Its also where you can find the Pocket D arena for heroes and/or villains to fight each other. Not everyone views betting, gambling, or monkey fights as something disreputable, illegal, illicit, or bad. It's not like the club isn't segregated off and clearly not part of the main dance floor or blue side bar. Should they remove the bars from the blue-side as well since if you look they have bottles of alcohol and they don't ID! My 17yo heroes could just as easily get something from the bartender as a 50yo villain. Pocket D is a neutral ground free of the rules of BOTH sides. Sure it has a blue and red side that are themed to go with the zones that connect off those regions but I don't think that any area that can be gotten two by both heroes or villains is classifiable as a 'hero side' or 'villain side' of things. And why should the red-side get both the VIP lounge and the arena?

Then you shouldn't go to Pocket D.
Let's face it, the DJ is playing both sides, and it's his establishment. By frequenting Pocket D, you are filling the coffers of a man completely lacking any sense of morality or loyalty.
He's might be a true neutral, but seeing how he's built the club, it appears he's even closer to full out chaotic neutral.
By going there at all, you are going against the lawful good mentality.
Be well, people of CoH.
Wow...a total flash back to my D&D days...wait is this my outside voice...I never played "that" game...

Issue 8 Patch Notes
Arena Kiosks: These Kiosks will allow Heroes and Villains to fight against each other more easily if they want to settle personal issues.
In front of the bars are two arena officials, an "Arena Information Operator", who will provide information on how to use the kiosks; and a "Games Information Operator", who will provide detailed information on each of the game types of the arena.
Rikti Monkey Fight Club: Due to a combination of the Family cutting in to the RMFC profits in Sharkhead, and an offer from DJ Zero to expand their enterprise, Joe Young and Cornelius have moved their "entertainment concern" on up to the Pocket D. They have set up a new "Lounge" on the hero side of the club. Its a lot classier than the old place, says Joe Young.
Its loud in Pocket D! Local chat in Pocket D will only be heard by players within 50ft of each other now.
