Official Thread: Issue 8 Costume Pieces

Hopefully I am not alone in this. Could we have the option to choose the "skin" color option for wings much like ears have? My shirtless characters would appreciate it.

Another thing I found is in the hats menu. There are 2 different hats called "stocking cap" one is a short, round cap that hugs the head and the other is the Santa hat from a past winter event. (the Santa hat only appears if that particular character has unlocked it)

And as always my biggest costume request: Large Afros for male characters!

They are in, for Huge at least.

The 'fixes' to capes broke some that were working just fine...

*grumbles*

Please fix this. It looks awful.

As always I spoke before I actually checked

Thank you Zombra for pionting that out. Regular sized male characters also have Large Afros.

Also, has something been done to the geometry of female faces? I was tinkering around with hairstyles and all the short haircuts made my character look like a drag queen. She used to have a soft, round face. Now, no matter what I do, her face looks incredibly broad/square. Even the Thin scaling looks masculine!

[/ QUOTE ]

I've noticed this as well. There is definitely something wrong with the scaling and proportion of the faces that no amount of fiddling with the sliders seems to fix. There used to be quite a number of the female faces that were quite attractive but now only one or two look 'decent' but even after adjusting them they are still too angular.

And count my vote in for adding the old hair styles back in. I haven't really taken a good look at the new ones yet but I just don't understand why it was thought they needed to be changed in the first place. They looked fine like they were and there certainly wasn't any complaints about them that I ever saw. If there were, they were definitely no comparison to the complaints about the new ones.

My thoughts too.

Just add me to the list of people horribly disappointed with the floppy waist cape 'trenchcoat'.

I like the trenchcoats myself. They are sort of Gambit style. I do think they should be a little less animated when standing still but otherwise, I dig em.

Maybe they can add a more billowy version later on (like in Sin City) and maybe they can add a cloth version as well with the back flap and all, but I definitely think they should keep the ones they have as well.

Just what was fixed about the new hair styles, I really want to know? Some look worse now than they did before, and many still clip with various costume pieces particularly new pieces such as the government glasses.

Please bring back the original wedge, straight, and other hairstyles either as options or simply revert them back to the originals.

Thankyou,

(Head – Ears): Floppy, Bunny, Cat, Rat, Teddy, Wildcat

Okay way this is posted, one can presume it's for both male & female. It isn't.
Males have rat, lion, & cat tails but as for the ears, none of the above.
WE want our ears too. Least the ones to match the tails like rat and cat.

The clipping on the trenchcoats is not only with tails but also with certain builds like Ice Armor.
It also clips off the mantle or collar part if you have a full body aura. From the back, you look like you're wearing a window shade with curtain rod.

mentioned this in the wrong thread but the samurai armor chest piece doesn't show up outside of the costume selection screen. weird..

Were you in supergroup mode perhaps? If so you need to check "Hide supergroup emblem" to be able to see the samurai chest pieces.

Check under the Ears selection for the Head. All the new ears are there. Checked with my Were-Tiger toon yesterday. They are all there, though they (like Cat Ears) look more like hairclip costume pieces and not like realistic animal ears.

Really, for animalistic looks, we need more monstrous heads.

Under "Masks With Hair" I use the face combination:

Full Mask 1
Mask 6

My character looks fine when I log in, but when I go into Icon the Full Mask 1 is replaced with Face 1 and the 1690 inf is charged. What I find strange is that the set up I had originally is still available, but no matter what I do the additional 1690 charge is there.

It doesn't really bother me, my main costume slot isn't going to change and I was likely going to change things up a bit for my other costumes, but I wanted to report it.

I think there is a "W shield" for helmets. I just tried it out and I think there is a bit of space between the shield and the helmet. That means you can "see" a bit of flesh. It makes it look less clean.

Should it look this way?

I have noticed several things with the new I8 costume pieces.

In the pictures that I see promoting the Justice Armor here on the official website it shows that we can change the color on the chest decorations, however, when in character creation the whole Justice Armor chest piece stays one color.

Ears: To make the new cat, bunny, wild cat, ect... ears look like they are "real" ears and not part of the costume (Cat Woman from batman verses Thundercats) There should be an additional option to have no human ears. There would be 2 selection boxes under ears Detail 1 box would have

none
human
elf
vamp
etc...

Detail 2
Cat
Wild Cat
Bunny
etc...

By allowing us to have 2 boxes in ears we can choose not to have the human ears making toons that are more monsterous less human. I have a huge reptilian named Crockadilian and the human ears just ruin the whole reptile look. The same principle is applied when making a lion type or cat type figure.

Scroll to the end of the patterns options, and there should be one called Justice. That one lets you change the chest decoration color.

Some costume pieces show differently in the Costume Editor than in the usual 3-dimensional third-person view. These are just some examples from a 3-costumed villain.

None of the 3 costume slots ever wore a necktie. They were set to "t-shirt" not "dress shirt". When I look at my costumes in the usual game window they look unchanged in I8. If I go into the Costume Editor, though, slots 0 and 2 are now set to "dress shirt", and I'm being charged 200k infamy. If I click the little reset button to the right of chest options things revert to the T-Shirt, but I still have to pay 200k infamy for the change (even though nothing is really changing).

I am also seeing some "contamination" across costume slots. All 3 slots have "Head = Hats". Slots 0 and 2 have "Detail 1 = None"; slot 1 has "Detail 1 = Blast Goggles". When I edit slots 0 and 2 sometime I see and am being charged for goggles as if I just added them, other times I correctly don't have goggles.

This happens regardless of my SG Mode setting.

Similar issues are happening to me as well. The 3 different Heroes that I have attempted to make costume chages to are all having their faces reset to Face 1 and being charged for the modification. The reset button re-selects Face 1, it does not select the face option that I originally chose. Manually selecting the face I originally chose does not remove the influence charge for changing the face. These 3 Heroes all have different body types, one is Male Huge, the another is Female, and the third is Male, so it isn't body types specific.

That is the result of the reorganization of costume pieces... been there for awhile. It is why so many costume tokens were handed out.

Remember that the game basically keeps track of each costume part & color by some entry in a database. So, you may have had mask1 on the character, but w/ the additions it may be mask2 or something. So go by what you actually see in the costume creator/tailor, not what you see in the little snippet from the costume selection screen.

After playing tonight on my controller (she has a longer hairstyle, forget which)...

I agree. Unless there's some really damn good reason why the female hairstyles were changed, can they please be changed back? They look awful. The foreheads look all jacked up and the hair looks unnatural. Please give us the old styles back. All of them.

I hope I'm not repeating something else, but this was a bug I meantioned via /bug on the test server a couple weeks before issue 8 came out and after.

In any case, I have a male character. Using a Baggy shirt (Baggy 2) with Pattern 3, it causes many of the details (like the Skulls pictures) to have a graphical error. Where the edges of the detail should be turning transluscent to let the shirt be seen, it turns the whole costume translucent around the detail and I can see onto the other side of my character, through him, if I'm looking at his front.

Kind of awkward. Having a hole in you.
