So does anyone here know how long the aoe immobs for brute last? Recharge is 32 seconds, what's the duration?
[ QUOTE ]
Been trying to at least try out Scirocco's story arc, but I crash every time I try to enter his first mission. Crashed at least 6 times trying to enter. This has only happened to me trying to run his mission, I have run numerous other door missions, paper missions, and mayhem missions just fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
hate ro ruin people's want for hard numbers, but I'm having the same problem. I was able to get in. died cause i wasn't watching my health. and now i can't get in. What gives?! How about i just use Scirocco sword and pry the door open and keep it open, just to shake things up alittle and not crash.
[ QUOTE ]
it does look like the PPPs are at least no worse than comparable EPPs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would agree. In most case (4 coh toons above 40 I have), there really wasn't any more than one power I really wanted from the EPP's. The rest were duds, or hardly worth mentioning. Similar in a way to the regular power pools.
I always viewed it as time to just have fun (a tanker with an Aoe blast for instance), as well as a chance to pick up one or two more primaries that I couldn't fit in to my pre-40 builds. Perhaps even a second travel power, etc.
I don't see these as any different. For my squishies, I'll take the sheilds, and that's about it. Even enhanced 15% resists is better than a sharp pointy stick in the eye. That leaves two more "fun" choices...
I guess a lot of people were imagining more primary powers
If only we had something like LRM or Power build up for our Corruptors.
The EPPs rocked cause the different sets actually served an almost completely different experience. Not so much with PPPs...But I can't really judge until I get my hands on everything and six slot it. BACK TO THE GRRRRIIIINDD!!!
That's funny! It's the LRM that I was thinking the most of, as a useless power. It had an abysmal recharge rate, and very small splash damage radius. I was already a blaster with some good AoE's. The LRM was a waste. I respec'ed out of that and picked up superspeed (already had fly). Man, that became a lot of fun...
Point is, these are pool powers, after all. Not really a third power set so to speak...
Yea, LRM isn't that great, Force of Nature on the other hand, woulda been fun to have.
jesus these powers are so friggin weak
20 dmg every 20 seconds? my lvl 1 attack does more dmg than that!
aside from concept i don't see patron pools really worthwhile. The blasts are about the same as the scrapper pools damage-wise(I am a stalker). What Stalkers and brutes are lacking is a good utility power. Scrappers and tankers get FA and what do we get? a lame pet? Does anyone know if they can be controlled like MM pets? I do like the snipe power though. enhanced and with a crit I am looking at about 220ish damage. not too bad. Pity my comp crashes when i try to enter the 1st mission in the story arc.
PPP's look like 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag, thats what I think.
the snipes actually do 90% of blaster's snipes WITH a crit, fyi
and our pets will be like dominator pets (not controllable)

And they make us jump through hoops to get them. What is with all the damn Elite Bosses in these arcs?
I've read through most of the thread up to this point, and see that most people that are posting seem to think the powers aren't that great. I can't really say, seeing as I haven't gotten any of them yet.
I am not a number cruncher. As long as a power works, deals damage and looks fairly decent, I'm happy. What I wanted to comment on was the story-line for Sirocco's arc.
Kudos to writers. Seriously, this is one of the most engaging and interesting arcs I've done since the arc in Mercy where you learn Ghost Widow's origin. The in-fighting between the factions, the talks with Arbiter Daos (sp?) that show even the 4 signature villains aren't trusted and the characterization of Sirocco are all excellently done. Oh, and running into a few of the Korean signature heroes was an unexpected and very cool addition.
All in all, I am enjoying the story immensely and however the actual powers work, I will not feel it was a waste of time getting them. Once again, great job writers/devs. Great job.
Since I opted out of my Brute having Taunt, I am just glad to have a ranged attack to pull a little with. The first Lightning attack, even with one Acc. Enh., with no Fury running does ( I think) 34 dmg. and with full Fury does in the 90's. This is at level 41. Plus the attack gives me back a little endurance so I won't pre-judge as much as I would have upon intially reading the descriptions except to say that the whole 4 minute pet retention... I'll be skipping that. I'm not wasting slots on something I can have maybe twice inside of 15 minutes. I'd rather take Conserve Power...lol.

more like pet peeve powers
Sounds good, which Korean Heroes do you fight? What are the missions like? Feel free to give Spoiler warnings oif people don't want to know.
So does ANYBODY have durations yet on the aoe immobs?
Glad to hear the storys/missions are interesting. If CoV had one thing over CoH, it would be missions/story. I have two level 36 heroes which all their missions from all their contacts are "The Crey are up to no good. Go teach them a lesson (anywhere, in Brickstown, in Crey's Folly)" or "The Security Chief needs your help helping with the Crey issues we've been having. Tell him I sent ya and he'll have you fight more Crey!". Street patrolling would be interesting if it triggered events/encounters, but sadly, it does not.
I look forward to more CoV story content. I enjoy all the contact missions as they are all semi-unique, usually have an interesting story (often involving me doing 'hero work'). and now even the brooker/newspaper system is going to be spiced up with Mayham Missions. Super.
Speaking of missions though, CoV 41-50, do you get non-Patron contacts for missions? Once contacts run dry, is the end game going to be newspapers and mayham missions?
Also, if anyone has completed a Patron set, does the completion just allow you to select powers at the right levels? What if you already got to 50 without doing them? Does this make it impossible to 'spec in the powers as you already selected other powers? If they are so impossible to respec, does that mean they are on a completely different system from our regular powers (Different slots/enhancements/rules?)
Freeedom
H: Victra Defile (Rad/Dark) & Hot Hits (Fire/SD)
V: Spike Cream (NW) & Crescent Wind (Nin/Storm)
Sub Hero Inc ARC: 1541
--If you don't like what I have to say, it was probably a typo you are refering to.
I'm not sure why you think the powers would be impossible to respec. I'm pretty sure that if you respec, starting at level 41 you can start pulling powers from the patron pool you picked or from your primary/secondary/other pools.

Wow. The more I hear about the patron pets, the more I lose my enthusiasm. If they won't let us slot recharge duration then these need to be some UBER pets. If I bring one into PvP it better 3-4 shot any hero. Seriously there just seem to be too many restrcitions on these things: 15 minute recharge, 4 minute duration only and unable to slot recharge enhancements. I'm assuming we won't be getting the advanced pet controls like MMs, so that just makes these pets sound even worse. Fortunately my Dom will be getting a boss-level Mu Guardian, but it absolutely sux that people will be getting minion-level pets with thse same restrictions. Please devs think this over.

It also looks like the Mu Guardian won't heal ...it doesn't accept heal enhancements. That was really the only reason I was thinking about taking it.
Question on buffing:
If a Brute using Rage (the SS power, not Fury) and summoms a striker, with the new buffing of pets, does that mean the striker gets the benefits of Rage as well?
How about Firey Embrace? If the Brute used it and then summoned the striker, does the striker get the benefits of firey embrace for 10 seconds? Longer? At all?
Thanks.
Probably not... I pmed _Castle_ asking him if fury affected pets and he said he was pretty sure it didn't, so it's reasonable to assume nothing else affects pets either, espeically since self-damage boosts don't affect any other pets currently in the game.
But then again, the buffs affecting "pets" like burn change might change things for real pets too (maybe accidently) so I can't say for sure.
The BI should be relatively easy to calculate. Just find a level 40 smashing neutral enemy and pull any damage enhancements you have out of brawl and brawl the enemy. With that you'll know how much damage a level 40 character of your archetype does with an unslotted brawl. Divide the damage listed on the plaque by your tested value to get the brawl index. To verify your finding, divide the brawl index by 2.66666666667 to get the dev damage scale. If that number doesn't cleanly terminate after the hundredths place, then you've probably done something wrong.
The hardest part is finding a level 40 enemy that doesn't resist smashing damage (save for some robots that are weak to it).
