I'm serious, you know. They've only been talking about it for years.

Seconded. Thankfully though, with all the suggestions here it sounds like it'd end up being more like the Hollows than like Faultline. i.e., having a story arc and a reason to be there.

Also, inspired by an earlier post... temp MMU pack power? ::evil grin:: I'm liking this. Maybe earn it as an effect of some "Moon Task Force Member" badge, like the big extinguisher from Fire Chief?

followed by a discovery of an ancient alien base Filled with a new race of aliens that have been here for a while with a nice book entitled “How to serve Man”. This new race has been kidnapping people from the earth using Teleportation for hundreds of years.

[/ QUOTE ]

What sort of aliens? Rikti seem likely to be present, along with the 5th (I'd use only the 'tech' based 5th, with WarWolf leaders, but none of the Vampyrs, and tie it into the 5th AV on the moon, a WarWolf with Dark powers and a circle of Dark mystics who serve her, who hates the vampyrs) and radioactive Moon Igneous, and perhaps even some CoT, exploring an Oranbegan 'moon temple.'

And then there's the plants. Some sort of Devouring Earth variations, or completely new? Fields of these plants could lie between the starting areas and certain mission objectives, and barring travel powers, the heroes / villains may have to 'tunnel' their way through hostile plant critters to reach the downed shuttle or whatever.

There could even be a few Aberrant Lost, the remnants of the original Alpha Base crew (and a major nuisance for the villains currently occupying said base). The Rikti base could be near the villain-occupied Alpha Base, and villain-based missions could involve them.

But the TF aliens would ideally be something new. I'd love to see a race of what looks like seven foot tall, skeletally thin big-headed large-black-eyed 'grey' aliens, but instead of using Psionics (like the Rikti), they use advanced Shapechanging powers. Upon aggroing, the lower-ranks transform into monstrous creatures, all crab-like exoskeleton and big claws (bulky, like a WarWolf, with one huge left claw, and one smaller piercing claw, using Lunge / Swipe like attacks). The mid-ranks stand back and transform also into ranged combatants, spewing cones of acid (Toxic attack) and / or throwing spines at foes engaged with the front ranks. The higher ranks would be a mixture of both, close in tanks with chitinous armor, a toxic spew and dangerous spined attacks that inflict both lethal and toxic damage. The leaders might be surrounded with a close range toxic version of the Spines PBAoE effect, representing their acid blood spewing out over close-in attackers.

Some specialized servant creatures might float into the midst of battle and just explode (like Embalmed, but using a Rularuu-like graphic) in a toxic explosion of acid and venom, while others would sit in one place (some rooted the ground, others rooted to the walls, or even hanging down from the ceiling!) and spit toxin-coated Spine attacks at intruders, a living defense turret of sorts.

Right now I am more leaning toward a normal zone with a PvP area. while I don't care for PvP I'm thinking it might be a good Idea to have part of the Moon a PvP Zone not a Hazard Zone. It would add some 50 content in for Heroes and Villains.

There isn't any evidence that the Rikti have extraterrestrial craft, and there is evidence that we found them and not the other way around. So if there's an alien base on the moon, it's probably not a Rikti one.

Besides, who wants to recycle the same enemies over and over?

How about a Rikti Mother Ship as a Giant Monster Spawn... Could either do that or a construction thing like Paladin... You've stopped the 5th column from completeing the doomsday device

I was actually thinking that there should be another zone attached to the moon via teleporter. A space station. One of the Ideas is to have a a Rikti Mother Ship / Hami type Giant Monster Spawn outside of the space station.

I really don't want the Rikti on the moon. they are everywhere now. that's why I wanted a new alien race. Something different. (that's also why I put the dangerous Foliage up there).

I love the idea of stopping the 5th column from completeing the doomsday device. I might have to work on that and add it to the zone.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I would also like to thank everyone for the great Ideas and all the support for this Idea. I'm hoping that it will happen.

So would this be a PvP zone too? With the villains at the original base and the heroes at the new one?

What's the difference between a hazard zone and a non hazard zone? Just the level restriction? If thats the case make it a PvP zone instead. If not make it a normal zone. How about 2 zones? one for PvP and one normal?

In regards to this Moon Hazard/PVP zone, I have an idea for a "new" alien race, a new villain group and AV, and a new situational pet type. Let me know how it sounds.

Commonly known as the "Greys" this race has been based on the Moon for nearly 100 years. In the early 1950s, the US government made a treaty with them. The Greys had travelled to Earth many times in the past 10000 years, feeding the youthful human race certain tidbits of knowledge and assisting in the development of basic tools. They disappeared after 200 AD--not too long after the fall of the Roman empire and the beginning of the Dark Ages for Europe--only to return at the turn of the century in 1900. The new Greys began to experiment with the human race, seeing as we had not evolved much in the last 10000 years. Trying to usher in a new age of evolution, they began abducting people and using them in their experiments. Some of the first Supers were created in this method. This continued until the most well-known incident to conspiracy theorists--Roswell. After the Area 51/Roswell incident, the US government made a pact with the Greys. If they swore not to abduct random people anymore, the US would provide a list of coordinates for the decendents of ever Super. That way the purity of the human gene pool would remain, while the impurities of the Supers could possibly dilute or be exterminated. This was a time of great turmoil and strife for a Super. Even the great Statesman suffered in these times.

Another part of the treaty was to allow the Greys to set up a permanent base on the Moon. When the Fifth Column and the Council collided recently, the Fifth fled to Moonbase Luna, an abandoned US installation set to monitor and retaliate against the Greys should they ever choose to defy the treaty. They inhabited it and began to recruit some of the "failed" experiments of the Greys.

Then one day, one of the Greys' experiments escaped. Destroying half of the lab section in the process, this mysterious figure fled across the lunar surface. Recruiting heavily from other mutated humans trapped on the Moon, the Remnant was established. This group of Supers fought both the Greys and the Fifth for control over the resources of the Moon. Losing the battle they retreated into the caves, where they found Igneous. They have lived there ever since.

In the last couple of years, Recluse has discovered old plans from the Fifth Column that detail weapons that could annihilate key parts of the world, changing landscapes, causing disasters, overall adversely affecting the Earth. He has recently built a space station that orbits closely around the Moon and has called on his destined to take control of the doomsday weapons for him. A mole however, hopes to foil this plan and has alerted Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx of the danger. Thus there is now a Longbow space station orbiting the Moon as well.

When control of the doomsday devices rests in the hands of Arachnos, they are used as terrorizing weapons. And they awaken some of the most powerful beings that exist: the Elemental Spirits. These Spirits are similar to the nymphs, sprites, and other elementals of ancient mythology; Each class containing its own specific powers.

***Note: These spirits act as pets that can be found throughout the more natural areas of paragon (Perez Park, the northern walls of Talos, on the tops of some of the mountains, deep in the Troll infested tunnels of the Hollows, and the volcanic area around Striga). Each Spirit (and Spirit type) is only available while Arachnos holds the Doomsday devices. Pets are available for both sides, but villains can only get them through mayhem missions (where they enter Paragon).***

From the SciFi Series "Stargate SG1" based on the movie Stargate. It's a small gun that can "zap" someone. One hit will knock them out. Two will kill, three will disintegrate the target.

But of course you knew that...

Doesn't everyone?

First off I love this idea.
A few things though, Someone described an alien race called "Greys". I like the concept but the name has to be changed as "Grey" is an existing entity in game.(Look at the Magic SO's).

Rikti came up, and they do have a ship capable of space travel it's in the Rikti Crash Site that no one goes to. I'd rather not see Rikti on the moon personally. I also don't want to see CoT on the moon either. Even with the explanation I don't think they have a reason to be up there.

While there IS a huge flying saucer in the Rikti Crash Site, I have yet to see any evidence that it is capable of space flight. It is quite possible that it is just a hovering version of an airplane, and is no more possible of space travel than the latter.
