Moon Hazard Zone

The one in the crash sight cannot fly, because it crashed maybe? But I agree it is a Flying Saucer so by default it is a space craft.

I'd want to see Rikti *and* other aliens (like the ones I proposed in my first post, the spiny toxic shapshifters with organic technology). Add 5th, radioactive 'moon igneous' and Circle of Thorns, and it would make for a nice mix of enemy types.
some Rikti would be ok I guess. but there are way too many of them out there now. HEY! how about a nice battle up there where the Rikti are fighting the New Aliens for domination?

I love all the ideas you've presented save for the travel suppression. If anything, on the moon you should be able to jump higher and travel faster due to the reduced gravity.
I've never really liked the need to spend too much time travelling in the game. I hate it even more when I'm the first one at the mission and I'd have to wait for everyone else. That's just me though.

A lot of people don't like that. How many zones have you fully explored with your travel powers? I'm betting that most people just Fly/Jump/Zoom/Teleport right past everything once you get your travel power. and the last zone that was truely explored was the hollows. (I still know the hollows like the back of my hand).
How about this then the Travel power suppression is actually saving the lives of Heroes / villains.
Super Jump - you could jump out of the atmosphereic bubble and sufficate.
Super Speed - same thing, you could run up a hill too fast and zoom off into space
Fly - the lower gravity causes you to travel upward much faster and you zoom into space.
Teleport - the lower gravity disorients you slightly and you teleport out of the atmosphere.
(I got several PM's on this and two people came up with these Ideas).
you would still have a mini SJ so travel would still be faster than on earth. if that helps

New Story Arc
With thanks to Weisse_Sturm for giving me the idea Really, I don't see anyone better to build a giant planet-threatening laser than the 5th. Freaking Nazis, always doing stuff like that. - Weisse_Sturm Story-Arc: Starts out small something like defeat 50 Nazis to gather information. You discover they have been working on a top secret project for years, but are unable to find out where they are working on it. But you do discover the location of a cave of Moon Igneous. After defeating all Igneous in the cave (By the way these Igneous are upgraded. They can climb cave walls and ceilings, and drop onto unwary visitors) you discover the remnants of a Nazi research station. Your contact is able to tell you that it appears that the Nazis were doing Laser research. Take down another 50 Nazis, and you are directed toward another research outpost. This time you must travel deep within the pit the most dangerous jungle in the Sea of Vapors. Fight your way through the jungle to the old Research Station. Find all the clues left behind by the staff when it was abandoned. You discover the location of the laser. Its being built in a side cavern along the wall of the Sea of Vapors. Find it and destroy it. Its defended by guards and pill boxes, take them out and then take out the Laser.
Laser Badge you have destroyed a giant planet-threatening laser (awarded upon completion of the Laser Story Arc)

Why limit Space to only the surface of the moon? And just one Zone no less! I'd like to see more than one space zone, perhaps a few moon zones and a Space Platform or two.
Really, there should at least be zones for Heroes and Villains, and maybe a PVP area.

LOL ok. I used the Roleplay forums to get some Ideas as to how the Moon Zone would be if it were PvP. and to flesh out some of the zone ideas. Some of them went on total tangents to what I would have thought of, and expanded into whole new area. That was good. I have hopes that this is what they are working on. (something similar anyway). cuppa was a little cryptic on the subject.

Lower Gravity Everyone has a temporary power that allows you to jump much higher than on the earth.
[/ QUOTE ]
YES! But, all movement is slowed and you have a tendency to "coast". (Think Frostfire or Oilslicks)
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sorry, but the idea that "movement is slowed" in micro gravity is a Hollywood fallacy. Films of astronauts during the moon landings which showed them moving "slowly" actually showed no such thing; they were wearing exrtremely cumbersome suits with very limited mobility. Watch as they "hop" from task to task on the Moon's surface and you will see no loss of speed, only downward momentum, since nothing has happened to their mass, only their weight.
Astronuats and cosmonauts appearing to move "slowly" in the micro gravity aboard space stations and inside capsules is another misconception; fish-eye lenses were used for years in filming aboard space stations to increase the illusion of the cramped quarters being larger than they actually were. And astronauts generally make slower, calculated movements in micro-gravity because they are trained to do so, for safety reasons.
Seven or eight whacks of an elbow or skull into a hatch rim and you'll learn to start moving slower, too!
We've had enough of Travel Power Suppression in the earthly game, don't spoil this otherwise wonderful vision by imposing that nonsense on the Moon, too.
Here's an alternative: Leave Travel Powers alone; make the players learn to use them safely in the Moon's one-sixth-Earth-gravity environment.
If Super Jump or Flight takes you out of the Life Support Zone, all your toggles drop and you start taking damage as you begin falling back toward a breathable atmosphere... but you do it one-sixth as fast as you would on Earth.
Super Speed? This one is suicidal! There used to be a Science Class mnemonic that a Swift rifle bullet fired on the Moon would achieve lunar orbital velocity:
"Fire a bullet in the absence of an atmosphere at just the right speed and it can fall at the same rate that the surface of the spherical earth falls away. This bullet is then in orbit. A Swift rifle can fire a bullet with a high enough velocity to orbit the moon and hit the shooter in the back of the head."
Source: http://www.exo.net/~pauld/workshops/orbits.html
Whether you agree or disagree, and if you want to ignore the "speed cap" on heroes with Super Speed (I know I do), running to fast and too far at Super Speed could send such an irresponsible hero directly to the orbital Hospital.
Otherwise, this is a terrific job of Zone design; well done!!!

(I have in mind something like an Ancient Alien artifact that Causes the Mare Vaporum to have a livable environment) Discover the secrets of the Mare Vaporum
[/ QUOTE ]
You could craft an incremental mission arc into the lifeless area of the moon, opening up a special subzone only to those who have completed the first mission and gotten a sample of the Mare Vaporum-sustaining technology. This ancient base could only be explored by those heroes who bring their own atmosphere generator with them. Basically it would create an in-game reason why the Task Force area wouldn't be accessible until the first missions are completed.
Unfortunately, the return of breathable atmosphere to the base would cause the hibernating creatures within it to awaken as well, hungry for food after their long slumber...

From the Paragon City History
[ QUOTE ]
And so it went across the city. The aliens outnumbered the heroes at least one hundred to one, maybe more. It was impossible to get accurate numbers as the portals had allowed them access to the entire city at once. The fighting raged on through the rest of the night. After six hours, the heroes had managed to clear the skies of the large attack craft, some of which had retreated either up into space or out over the ocean (none of the aliens ever went back through the portals). By the dawn of the 24th, Paragon City had been effectively divided into a patchwork of human and alien controlled neighborhoods, with constant combat raging at every border. Both sides began to erect walls and other static defenses to secure their territory. Many of these border defenses eventually became the walls that currently divide Paragon City into its many neighborhoods.
