It was't until that moment that Ocho realized he'd gotten a job at the Paragon City Prance Club, not the Paragon City Dance Club.

Quote:Its a new laptop, never noticed it being especially hot. Has been on all day, so it maybe warmer then normal. Running very quietly.Having odd colors in your game's textures is also a sign of imminent video card failure. When's the last time you took a can of air to the dust inside? I don't know ATI cards, is that a stand-alone card or a chip on the motherboard? Are all your fans spinning (especially the one on your card if it is stand-alone)?
EDIT: Ooh. Just saw that it's an Inspiron. That's a laptop, right? Forget the canned air... you'll be hard-pressed to get in there if you're not techy. Umm. The 'sign of failure' comment is still valid, though. Does it do this only after it's been in use for a while (meaning hot), or even when the laptop is cold after resting? -
Quote:No not hugely recently, I'll verify now. Thank you.My guess is a corrupted texture, perhaps more than one, especially if you're only seeing it on a couple pieces and very recently.
i'd suggest clicking the "Verify All Files" button on the updater the next time you go to run it and seeing if it fixes anything.
Possibly related: did you update your display drivers recently? -

I've applied the ATI hot fix. Dunno if its enough though. -
I took this picture, and its a new development. Only the last couple missions has this weird color pattern appeared, its also on Lost Television Hats. Any ideas?

Quote:Thanks, the Hotfix solved my problem =)The 8.63 driver is going to be about 5 months old since the current driver is 8.68... so no, you're drivers are most certainly not-up-to-date... and knowing most Laptop vendors has had the OpenGL support stripped out so you are running in a software rendering mode.
Since the first 2010 driver isn't out yet, you can find the Catalyst 9.12 driver hotfix here: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...912Hotfix.aspx
To install the driver you will need to go here: http://www.techbeta.org/hardware/ati-mobility-modder/ -

Quote:I think so, the laptop arrived 5 days ago, and I haven't downloaded new drivers, so possibly not.Are you running the latest video drivers?
Might as well post a CoH Helper log as well to give us details on your specific hardware. -
I just got a new Inspiron 15 laptop, it has an ATI video card, and Windows 7. I've never played City of Heroes on either of these things before and I don't know where the problem lies. My problem is that on the user interface, the corners have become lines, NPC dialogue popup windows are blue and unreadable, my health and fury and end are a dark blue as is the inside of badge boxes in the badge tab. Many other small details are off like the close buttons being replaced by a blue box, but the world itself looks beautiful.

Hah! Faster typer then you suckahs =P

Quote:Yes, that's the option, I understand your hesitation, but every one of those options (Server Transfer, Character Slots, Respecs, and Renames) have several back up points before any money is actually spent.Either you have a different game client than I do, or you're saying there is in fact something I'm missing because there is no "Characer Transfer" option anywhere I see. There's a "Buy Server Transfer" button and I'm not doing that unless somebody tells me that's the one we're talking about 'cuz $10 is $10 and it's not worth risking it.
Know what I mean?
Please keep in mind I've never done a character transfer before. Never felt the need to spend $10 to do something so trivial. For free, however, it's gonna get used and used again! Yee-haw, even.
I hope that didn't come off as snide. I certainly mean no disrespect and I appreciate your help. I just don't know if you're looking at what I'm seeing or you are very familiar with this process and just using some kind of shorthand or whatever. Thanks again for any help.

Quote:Exactly as I intended ^_^Now now Vivace, some of us have kids... mine are old enough to see this thread. But ya never know - thus the 2 Click rule, which ummm CR already violated on page 2, and didn't get trolled about. But heck, I think everything Implicit Bookcarrier even talks about is a 2 Clicker... lololol. This thread has merit if not for the ridiculous title, it might even get respect.
Though after reading Dark Forgiven's post, I am highly tempted to sketch up a page of bewbs...
Edit: make pin ups? you mean muscle poses? -

Quote:Tempers are high on this thread at the moment, please don't take it personally. I can understand the confusion. Yes the color of dark itself is customizable, I've seen screenshots from hero con, Dark looks sexy in red. What call was there to be nasty about it? Have I offended you in some way that I'm not aware of? I'm certainly sorry if I have.
I didn't feel that the summary explained to my satisfaction whether or not the animations themselves were customizable, and I thought I'd ask about it. I didn't realize I would anger people with my inquiry, I'll just go back into obscurity where I belong. -

Training room is down to get fix for only closed beta testers being able to log in to character creator working. -
Quote:I understand the reasoning, but as we've been able to see it before, and BABs made it sound like we could get on, its frustrating.<shocked>
Seeing as this issue is 99% about customizing the powers, which one could see from the Character Creation page, then it is SHOCKING that a) they would want the testers to actually, um, TEST the interface before allowing *anyone* to see it, and it is also SHOCKING that b) they might not want to let Everyone see it immediately. I am SHOCKED, really, just SHOCKED.

"Relax, Francis." We'll all get our turn, kiddies. -
