Others have said that this was the case, but no one has ever found any links of any dev stating so. I think it's just as likely that many of us heard HDR effects and automatically equated it to shader3.0 due to the plethora of articles discussing those two items being used together.

Something else that doesn't make sense about these numbers:
How can Fire and Cold defense be the same as Energy defense? You get F/C/E/N defense in Power Shield, and you get an additional amount of E defense in Kinetic Shield. So unless Power Shield gives more F/C defense than it does E defense (which would make another thing that is completely contrary to what was widely believed), E defense should be higher than all of them.

I posted this earlier in the thread but I haven't seen anyone address it. Anyone have any idea what the deal is?
Castle stated that he was only talking about the max value per shield. He didn't take stacking into account. He also didn't tell us WHAT the value of the energy defense in kinetic shield was. I'm beginning to wonder if it exists at all.

The last best guess on this was an additional 2.25% DEF to Energy in Kinetic Shield. But maybe _Castle_ confirmed a value in a PM to S_F?

The RES passives have been quoted as 7.5%.

Wraith PMed me that Cryptic does not use shader 3.0 for the HDR effects, or for anything else for that matter. And I am still very greatful that he did, because it allowed to me more properly understand and explain what's been going down.
