Was anyone explicitly complaining about lack of a new zone?

Most of us have been calling for Hazard Zone renervations instead of new zones.

[/ QUOTE ]

HERE HERE! Renovate Faultline, Boomstown and Perez Park! Make new trials and taskforces for them!

[/ QUOTE ]

First improvement they can make in Perez Park is to chop down all those trees

Well, I don't want new zones. I'm in the camp that what we have no needs revamping with dynamic content to make the city feel alive.

But what would I have liked to see in Issue 7?

-Newspaperesque Missions for CoH.
-PvP Instanced missions that had CTF-style objectives. Imagine of those Mayhem missions were able to be joined by heroes for a big showdown with destructible things?
-New story arcs around the city that catered to your security level. I like King's Row, but once you outlevel the area, there's nothing there. The city's threats shouldn't be so linear, I feel.

I don't think that's too much to ask for.

I see your squeaky wheel and .... Wait a second! This wheel is covered in grease! The sound is coming from the mouse that accidentally got itself stuck in the wagon! Silly mouse. If you hadn't got yourself stuck in there you wouldn't need to squeak!

Issue 6: 3 new pvp zones.... and I can't think of other CoH stuff. =0_o= Much complaining is done for, well, the same reason (sure, if you bought CoV, then you've got lots to do, but those who didn't, but still have to download that monster...).

[/ QUOTE ]

You forgot much complaining about ED but overall a good list.

As a villain, my response to hero complaints regarding the upcoming issue would have to be summed up as follows:

BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

Maniacal laughter doesn't really carry across in text very well.

I said this in the thread on the training room board, but I'll repeat it here:

It might have been wiser for the devs to call these I1 and I2 for CoV, and not "combined" issues. There would have been less expectations on the CoH side. Then, we could have had I8.

Hindsight is 20/20 though.

I figured from the beginning that CoH was getting shortchanged in i7. It made sense, really. CoV's endgame is filled with brand new stuff, and brand new stuff takes quite a bit of time. Stuff like

Is pretty unrealistic for i7, I think. The dev's have to pull out CoV's endgame to even put it on the same level as CoH. Then, after that, they can begin adding content for both.

I just hope Ghost Widow's patron power gives soul storm.

That makes a lot of sense, except during beta they said there wouldn't be seperate issues, they would be combined. Truth be told, my villains love what's been announced so far, my heroes are hoping some stuff hasn't been announced.

Yeah, I know, optimist. Oh well. I just don't see the point to getting all worked up until the exact and complete contents of i7 are known. I learned that lesson during the great controller debacle.

Trying to intice us to use the PvP zones more, are you?

As primarily a defender player, I can't say I have alot of experience with unannouced suprises like that...

Did you get your primary power's duration cut in half with recharge times doubled? Man, was I <bleeped>. And I posted a very angry bit to States.

Then I logged onto test...

Then I apologized.

Yeah...and that may have been a mistake on their part, PR wise. Looking at it now, it may have been better for them to say:

"After we catch CoV up with CoH, which should take about two issues, we'll do "combined" issues. But, not to worry, because CoH will have things patched in between now and I8"

But, like I said, that's hindsight.

And yeah, I'm in the same boat. Villain-wise, I'm rarin' to go....but my hero might need to take a short breather....

Unless there's an event out there somewhere.

I'm just waiting for the nerf list...THEN I can decide if I'm going to enjoy I7 or if I'm going to throw a tantrum, cry DOOOOOOMMMM (then go and enjoy I7 anyway)

What?

Did you have this idea back in beta? Because if you did, I'm going to pm States asking them to hire you!

Clearly, it seems they have written off CoH players for the most part, and are totaly focused on the new cash cow of CoV.

You see, they won't be giving new quality-of-life stuff to CoH until sales of CoV fall off significantly, otherwise there is no reason to buy CoV, and we can't have that now can we?

Perfectly logical, and from a buisness viewpoint, it makes perfect sense, but from a CoH fan standpoint, it sucks because many quality of life problems that have been fixed in CoV that would make life more fun and interesting (i.e. "better") in CoH cannot be given to CoH players without forfeiting sales of CoV.

Seriously, look where they put access to the PvP zones in Heroes vs Villans. In Villans they are easily accessible and within very close reach to merchants, whereas in Heroes they put them in remote locations well off the beaten track that takes 10 minutes just to get to. Seriously why is access to Warburg in Kings Row? How many level 35-40 folks hang out in Kings' Row and how many merchant stores are there????? You see my point? They are doing everything in their power to get you to switch to Villans by making it a superior product and make things in CoH as annoying as possible so when you get to the easy and convienent side you stay there. Quite frankly I am surprised they didn't put the access to Bloody Bay in faultline so folks would have to visit that zone.....

I can agree with no new CoH zones.

[/ QUOTE ]

Come on.. can't everyone name the 28 zones of CoH off the top of their heads?

Personally I don't want many new zones... but adding content to existing zones...

Mayhem Missions (Villains only)
Other New Missions (Villains only)

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh right... I hope that's not absolute...

What's so hard about playing CoV, anyway? You can't really blame the dev's for your refusal to play it, really...

"Expanshalone"

"Combined Issues"

I certainly hope that your thinking isn't the devs thinking. If their plan behind releasing issues is "you should have bought CoV in order to get the good stuff", then they misled us prior to CoV's release. And that's something I wouldn't take lightly.

I'm confident that your opinion never was, is not now, and will never be, the developers thinking.

No complaints here.

I'm excited.

Any major update with new content to an online game where I don't have to go out the store and shell out $20-$40 makes me glow.

I love this game.

---------
Ellen Akres / 31 / Pure Emp Defender
Voodoo Girl / 31/ Pure Evil Dominator
Boobi McNipples / 6 / Dark Corruptor waiting to be nerfed.

I'll say the same thing I said in the other thread mostly because I think I should defend myself here.

I hate that word. It's garbage. Sure, you can play CoH/V by itself, but you're really missing out on quite a bit of content, that you don't even have to pay an extra monthly fee for.

And combined issues? They need to finish CoV first. I think that is the dev's line of thought. Finish CoV, then start on Combined Issues.

Nope! Well... we did have our holds reduced and recharges on them lengthened at that time...

Then I logged onto test...

Well.. I'm still waiting for some defender love.
