A nice little piece about one of the I5 events.

Always remember, we were Heroes.

Oh, ya let it burn, wont'cha wont'cha let it burn

Doesn't that suck? The buildings aren't even in Steel Canyon yet and people are already lighting 'em on fire.

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire....

That fills me with confidence.

"Chief Hopkins" eh? I smell a Crey conspiracy! Well that and burning stuff...

I thought the Chief's name was Williams?

Hopkins. He's new...

Glad to see that Jackson still has it! Or not. Loved or hated, the guy keeps on typing.

Hi everyone!

Good article, Gil, but where's page two? Is the Times trying to modernize with hip, snappy articles that cater to the shortened attention span of toda---

I'm hungry. Let's go ride bikes!

Well, you know that short, concise writing is

Are we using Eighties power-speech?

Yo, G, lemme TAYAM (talk at ya' a minute).

Well, if the Paragon Fire Department is anything like the Paragon Police Department, the firefighters run screaming from fires the way the cops run screaming from mobs (except in the Hollows, where they seem to have stationed the few cops with backbones and firearms training). No wonder they need heroic support.

Great, great article. Really top notch. It had the feel of a real news report, raised my interest for the event, and even had a little foreshadowing to think about. Reminded me of the I2 and original zone event articles. Best news article in months! Five stars for Gil and company.

Wish we could see the editorial section of the next days paper, though. I'm sure a lot of citizens are going to comment on the lack of fire department funds even though there was plenty of money to build new arenas!

LOL im still trying to figure out why Paragon's S.W.A.T. isnt very S.W.A.T.-like. Everyone knows big city S.W.A.T. teams almost always have snipers on roof tops and such. And why the heck do they always get stuck by themselves in the hollows in the middle of the gulch, by their lonesome surrounded by trolls and outcasts..... Dont they know without a travel power Hollows = doom?

I know the article said no details could be divulged about the investigation, but what clued them in that the hellions were involved?

Could it be the groups of hellions standing around every burning building doing their little 'woot' dance?

Hmmm.... I wish I get ahold of that investigation folder...

Perhaps the fire chief's first name is Sherlock..

Posted

actually , the fire chief's assistant is named watson.. and he really figured it out.. But ponly cause the Skulls told him.

It's all a conspiracy!!!!!!! The Skulls and the Family are really behind it framing the poor innocent Hellions..... Ok.. maybe not..

*laugh* Or people in Steel Canyon shouting, "Hey! Why can't this be happening in Kings Row?! That area can USE a facelift!"

Well, due to budget reductions, Paragon City government has contracted those duties normally provided by S.W.A.T. snipers to enterprising independent contractors. Feel free to observe these contractors at work in such city zones as Founders' Falls, Crey's Folly and Peregrine Island. Only the finest trained snipers have been contracted from Crey Enterprises and Paragon City's government has assured us that they will serve a valuable role in reducing crime . . . scrrrrtzz . . . breaking news . . . this just in: It appears that Crey snipers have been mistakenly shooting heroes flying through these city zones while on patrol. News Chopper 6 reports that these snipers have even taken potshots at those reporting on these events. Oh my . . . Mayor Morales, this is another fine mess you've gotten us into!

When Issue 5 goes live (supposedly some time this month), there will be zone events included. One of those events is that the Hellions are setting fire to buildings in Steel Canyon (the other has to do with Troll raves in Skyway City). Heroes will act to put out these fires.

Hey Balance, I loved those Brust books as much (or more) than the regular series... By The Horse, I love that dialect

#1: Patchworks, your avatar creeps me out! That's gold, baby...

#2: We finally have have the title for Issue 6: Impeach Mayor Morales! Not only is her police force infeffective, but she can't even keep the city safe from fire! Can she really hold office much longer?

#3: Awesome article Gil! Great to have you back. I've been missing the regular Wednesday delivery of the Paragon Times. Hope that you get back on the regular schedule... it really helps to brighten the week!

So....I wonder what will we be putting out the fire with....
