  1. LOL perhaps. Although I think I'd know if I had a basement that housed farm animals.

I got to thinking...maybe she said "gold seller"? (as in RMT?)
  2. Thank you all.

Well, I spoke to Vivian on the phone and she said something about a "ghost seller"? or "go seller"? Our connection wasn't the best to it was hard to make out. I guess my accounts had been compromised so they closed it.

Oddly, she said none of my game accounts were accessed... so I guess I'll change my password and hope for the best.

Thank you all for taking the time to help out a fellow Paragon citizen.

    Thanks for responding, Sharker.

Yes, there's a phone number I just found. Seems I have to wait until 12 PM central to call them.

It's just frustrating... an email would have been nice.
  4. Hello all,

My second account (not this one) was suspended. I tried to log onto the forums and was told it has been permanently blocked.

I've submitted a ticket asking the reason it was blocked, but I'm thinking it may be a few days before they even get back to me.

Wouldn't it be professional courtesy to send an email to the address connected to the account explaining the situation?

Is there a phone number I can call to speak to a live person?

Thanks for any information you can provide. I appreciate it.

It was. The removed the bug that allowed male heroes access to the female costume bits.

Hot Feet is already buffable. It's not a summon...

    Awesome...thanks for answering.

First...I confirm that we're working on right now (as in pohsyb in the next room) to add CoV costume parts into CoH if you own both games....

Then we repeal the hated stealth nerf. The reason why: many well reasoned posts. It's that simple. You guys pointed out the problems.

AND now...we're changing the way Archvillains spawn. A ton of forum goers disliked adding so many AV's into missions a while back...so we've come up with a solution. If the team size and mission difficulty are ABOVE a certain level, an Archvillain spawns. Below that, players will face only an Elite Boss. If the mission is set on the first two levels of difficulty, it takes 4 heroes or more to spawn an Arch Villain. On the third level, 3 heroes or more. On the fourth level, 2 heroes. On the highest (Invincible), a solo hero will spawn an AV. Note this works in BOTH City of Heroes and Villains.

In order to incentivize larger teams, Positron is going to add a bonus to AV rewards!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks, States... it's MUCH appreciated!

I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the costumes or the AV changes.

We're tweaking with toggle dropping...mostly decreasing its overall effect.

We just received tech that will allow players to pass buffs onto certain powers (such as Blizzard).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would this also be true with a power like Hot Feet?

(Or is that already buffable? sorry for asking...new to the fire/* controller set....and loving Hot Feet. )
  10. [ QUOTE ]

    This is a nerf, folks.

It disheartens me to see those of you who play primarily meleers actually celebrating that another AT is getting nerfed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Welcome to PvP.

If you tone down toggle dropping to make it to an extreme like 1 toggle 50%, and please buff electrics end drain and their primaries damage. And replace Voltiac Sentinal with something good!

    Much appreciated.

  16. Love the program... quick question:

How do I set it up so that the Map doesn't show up after I teleport somewhere? Not sure exactly what setting I need to do?

Thanks for making this great program!
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Great, great article. Really top notch. It had the feel of a real news report, raised my interest for the event, and even had a little foreshadowing to think about. Reminded me of the I2 and original zone event articles. Best news article in months! Five stars for Gil and company.

Wish we could see the editorial section of the next days paper, though. I'm sure a lot of citizens are going to comment on the lack of fire department funds even though there was plenty of money to build new arenas!

*laugh* Or people in Steel Canyon shouting, "Hey! Why can't this be happening in Kings Row?! That area can USE a facelift!"
  18. Hmmm... I click on "Click here to begin show" and I get "Loading (19MB)" and not much happens then.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Or do I just need to wait a while?

Same can be said about those who complain about PLers "messing up their game."

    [ QUOTE ]
Well..it's much better than before..but STOP TRYING TO STOP POWERLEVELERS! umm..please Don't get me wrong this is much better..but nobody really cares about powerlevelers..

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't recall anyone voting you spokesperson for everyone. Nor do I recall anyone putting out a survey. As a matter of fact, most of the comments I hear in-game regarding powerlevellers are negative about them. People -DO- care about powerlevellers, all your blatant fabricated "facts" aside.

In fact, these changes are being made BECAUSE OF complaints about powerlevellers. Every time the topic of PLing comes up, it creates contraversy. This alone should be enough to tell anyone that your "nobody cares about powerelevelling" tripe is a flat-out lie.

Frankly, powerlevelling is cheating. Advancing in a game with no risk or even effort is cheating.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I agree it's cheating. And the player is cheating him/herself of some great story content.

They pay their $15/month to do this.

So how does it negatively affect others? And before I hear the "I don't want to team with somebody who PL's!", then an idea is... "Don't." When you see a person obviously has been PL'd (and they're not hard to see usually)... you could say, "Sorry...I have to go." Click the blue QUIT button...and life goes on.

The $15/month they pay is theirs to pay. If they want to use it by piddling away the story content... so be it.

It's like saying, "I don't like teaming with people who always say 'd00d' and 'dam u pwnz th@t!!' "... that doesn't mean I demand those words to automatically be filtered! Or people penalized for talking like that. I simply don't team with them.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I think all this effort into curbing powerlevelers is a waste of resources. Plvlers will find out how to do whatever they want with the tools at hand. This hampers a few plvling techniques, but exacts a tangible cost to players in terms of freedom to play how they want. Overall, I don't think this will have any real effect on plvling. They'll go do their outdoor mission maps, and players doing content will have to do their "Kill 150 Crey" hunt missions in a big group because you wanted to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

I don't buy the plvling hurts the game argument because what it really comes down to is "Is the content interesting enough to curb Plvling?" For a lot of players it is. For some players, it doesn't matter, they'll always plvl. For some, they have half a dozen toons over lvl 40, and they've done every mission, badge, story arc, TF, trial, etc. 3-4 times, and they just want to play with a new AT/build.

You're trying to tell people how to play the game, even though they're playing well within the confines of your world. If its not griefing, and doesn't violate the CoC/ToS, either leave it alone, or make it an exploit. To me, tram plvlers are like RP'ers in Galaxy. Its not how I chose to play the game, but it doesn't bother me one bit. Some people are going to do only missions for their xp (until mid 30's when you start running out) because it makes them feel heroic. Some are gonna roll up a Taxi Bot and recall people all day. Some will host a play in Perez Park, and some will sit all day while getting plvled by a friend or 2nd account.

Lastly, a quick question: How does this effect badge credit? I NEVER do hunt badges within 300 yds of my teammates, often a mile or more away. Like many players, I've put a lot of time into collecting my hunt badges, solo and in teams. I currently have all of them (except for isolator, which I did not have the option of getting). If I had to stay close to teamates to get badge credit however, I definitely wouldn't have bothered with many of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Awesome post...thank you for posting it!

It boggles my mind why people are upset about PLvLing... I can somewhat understand these arguments... but have responses (they aren't flames...just possible suggestions):

"I don't want to team with somebody who doesn't know how to use her powers."

    My response: Don't.

"When I see people standing at the tram being power leveled, it really bothers me!"

My response: Similar to the old joke, "Doctor... it hurts when I bend my arm like this. Doctor: Don't bend it like that." If a person is bothered by seeing people gain levels just standing there.... move to another area.

"Powerleveling encourages people to just AFK and thus causes lag."

My response: AFK timer now put in place.

I know powerleveling happens. I know it bothers people. Kill stealing happens...and it bothers people. Powerleveling honestly doesn't ruin my fun as much as kill stealing.

However, if power leveling and kill stealing ruined my fun enough to where I didn't want to play CoH... you know what? I'd stop paying $15/month.

If you can't stand the heat...........

And for about $5 I am going to get the bumpersticker. I wish it had the CoH logo, but I don't want any lawsuits coming my way... so it'll just have the saying. (as far as I know that's not copyrighted! )

It's a pretty fun site...check it out... free shipping/handling, too. No minimum order.

I want to make this very, very clear...these changes are due to not only the "data", but the well reasoned posts on these boards.

I really do read & really do listen! The "devs" aren't cooped up in an ivory tower; we love this game just like you do! In the end, we're all players. I have the privilege of being the lead designer. I want to do what's BEST for the game.
