Everyone screws around with poor Manticore
His team respects him like the JLA respects Batman. He's an [censored], but he gets the job done.
The reason he can teleport now, and subsequently teleport his arrows through people, is because Prometheus' fire gave him special powers. Just like it gave Positron an energy blast attack.
Actually, he DID gain a superpower when the flame of Prometheus was releshed upon him...
..and if you were going for sarcasm...yeah, I failed to see it.
Good theory.
I know how he got the power to "teleport" his arrow. There is no indication that he can do that to himself. Also, that would be a really cool graphic to have projectiles phase through or teleport past things.
Who said Manticore can control the TPing 100%?
Also, the move he did in the CoV trailer *did* have merit.
Basically, his two positions are kind of like comparing a sniper position with then sliding on your knees up to near-point blank range on your opponent.
Anyway, if any physics/bow people are handy: Would being closer to the target give his arrows more impact force?

Actually, it was later learned that it wasn't Promotheus's fire that did that. It was the Chili Cookoff with James Coco.

It's not a theory if you can prove it.
And this is why I'm called a Manticore fan.

Here's to hoping that Positron's armor has to follow emissions standards.

And you can learn more about how big a Manticore fan Celtic is, his connection to Statesman, and Statesmans origins in the upcoming book "The Web of Arachnos" written by Robert Weinburg!

First off I am referring to the comic book and the CoV movies so don't read if you think something may be spoiled for you.
Ok so first off, in the CoV movie they show Manticore who teleports all of about 2 feet and then fires his bow.
In the new comic it says that Manticore has no super powers. In issue 3 he is able to shoot through/past Statesman without even realizing he could. He is then congratulated on his first super power.
Ok, so putting 2 and 2 together there is only one conclusion. Everyone screws with Manticore. He is a guy with no super powers and the comic shows that he gets absolutely no respect from his team.
How did he teleport? Someone on his team with teleport friend did it to him as a little joke. Why else would he teleport a couple feet to shoot a bow which is a RANGED weapon? It makes no sense at all unless he was being picked on.
I for one was on a TF when the leader picked up team teleport. The guy kept moving us all over the place against our wishes; even during battle. It got so bad that we all had to quit the TF with only one mission left.
So sad that there is an annoying player on that SUPER team of heroes. For shame!
[/ QUOTE ]
There was no reason to quit the TF you are describing. Just turn on prompt to teleport. In fact turn in on even if you don't have someone griefing you.
Doesn't Manticore say that he has messed with the same teleportation thing which allows hospitals to TP heroes around, which is how he is able to teleport himself?
*Ahem*
Am I the only one who reads the comic?

...and I can cobble together an arrowhead if I have to. I prefer to buy them though. Speaking of wise purchases, life has certainly gotten more interesting since I bought into the ability to tap the Emergency Network. Being able to teleport myself and my arrows has really opened up my options in combat.

Ah, I knew I had read something about that somewhere. I just didn't feel like digging through my comic collection for all the details.

That's who I said.
...Yup, like that the entire time.

Well I am a bow person and moving a foot or two up really will not do anything big for you. He could have easily fired off an arrow and knocked another in the time it took to teleport. That would have done much more for him.
Also, kneeling down is in no way a good way to fire a bow. So the sniper thing is out.
And boy am I worried about this group of people. Everything is taken so seriously that it is frightening. First off everyone (especially Celtic) has to cool it a little...learn to have fun with odd things you see.
I thought that this post might have people do a little joking around and have some fun. With all the hell that has broken loose with I5, people could really use a break. Instead I am really shocked to see that it is just impossible in these boards.
Yeesh guys...step away from the computer and have some fun. Then come back...you will be missed.

Chalk it up to the rather fast-paced writing of the comic then?
When Synapse says "Congrats on your first super-power." it appeared that Manticore had indeed been granted teleportation powers period.
However, going on Manti's previous post along with the interview, this is instead supposed to be his teleportation system getting a strangely manifested upgrade.
Meh.

Umm, taken too seriously? Pot, meet kettle!
Maybe we just have a different sense of humor, but I see plenty of levity sprinkled throughout this thread.
Oh an Celtic you say:
"It's not a theory if you can prove it"
Well that really is wrong. Nothing can be proven without a doubt. If you are talking scientifically then it is and will always be a "theory."
That is the end of my taking anything in this post seriously.

I think I rushed my explanation for what I was trying to say.
What I meant was: In terms of cinematic direction, Manticore slid on his knees with two loaded pistols and got into near-point blank range and fired, as opposed to staying in the back, far away, and sniping. While the latter is more proper in terms of archery, the former is much more action orriented.

So then it's just a theory that the earth revolves around the sun, and not a scientifically proven fact?

Doesn't work against Team Teleport.
Exactly Liquid, it is a theory that the earth revolves around the sun. It is a really good and sound theory. Nice example
