Or something personal against Synapse?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, being that Synapse is a Blaster with just Super Speed as a defense, Manticore just figured he was already at the debt cap, so it didn't really matter if Synapse got trashed while scouting.

You see, one thing that was omitted from the trailer was that States and Manticore were on teamspeak when he told Synapse to head in on the regular team chat. States wanted to see how Defiance worked for a blaster (which we saw the results of that test) and Manticore was just surprised that Synapse fell for it.

Very pragmatic, that Manticore. I like him.

I'm sending you the bill from my doctor -- I think I pulled a muscle laughing at that!

wow, look at that! the poster child for Natural heroes has a travel power AND a natural explanation for it! I think I'll remember this post for when people insist on roleplaying to a fault ;-)

Have you ever tried playing an all-natural hero? Sprint and Swift are nice, and Hurdle helps, but damn is it a [censored]. I played my angry 5th Column loyalist through Striga like that and it was one of the toughest things I'd ever done in this game.

Greetings all,

Originally Manticore tapped into the Emergency Network to get his teleport ability. The fire of Prometheus allows him to teleport his arrows and perhaps one or two more tricks not yet revealed.

As far as teleporting before firing the arrow in the trailer, the point of that move was to get himself between the bad guys and the Crystal. He wanted to delay Captain Mako and Black Scorpion, grab the Crystal and teleport out. Mako's quick recovery prevented that.

HA! Then I was correct with my quote!

Exactly my point. Why tie your hands like that? There are ways to take a travel power and still be All Natural.

Alternately, you can take the powers as a necessity and pretend you don't have them. Superspeed is a whip-pan camera shot to the next scene. Teleport can be a game mechanic version of that narrative box that just says "Later..."

Why is superspeed less believable as a "natural" super power than the fact you can take hits from missiles, get slashed from claws from juiced up supervillians and shrug it off and beat robots to a pulp with your bare hands? My "natural" tanker is unnaturally tough and strong, and she's also unnaturally fast all because of her strict workout regimens.

Well in my opinion the only real problem with the natural toon using powers is the animations. While SJ is crazy for a natural it is just a jump animation. SuperSpeed though can be seen as just a fast guy but the animation shows light coming from your feet. Even fly, you can imagine technology giving that ability because the animations arent drastic.

If they let us turn off animations (at least in PvE) and/or change the colors of powers it would help alot

Thats jsut what I've been thinking. It would be nice to have your animations for ss turned off or the color of hasten turned to pink. AWESOME!

On another note...obviously Synapse being taken out is a result of that whole super speed turning off for a few seconds like in game. He must have run into a bug or something...that counted as an attack....he got slowed, then owned.

Nah. He was a blaster. Obviously he saw one of the villians, launched off his sniper blast and did not realise they were all AV's around the corner and never survived the resulting Alpha Strikes. Happens ALL the time beleive me...
