Sorry if this is covered somewhere else, but I cant find it:

I recently learned how to save and load my binds across characters. What a time saver! I have chronic altitis, so this is the worst part of rolling up a new 'me'...redoing all my binds.

Except...my chat binds wont load. I even tried saving them from an existing character, and loading onto the same character, and all 3 fail, saying too many arguments.

The chat line im using is as follows:
/bind [ beginchat /send "channel" [$name-$level-$archetype]

and it works fine, but wont load. any suggestions would be appreciated.

This allows you to show your character, level, server, whatever at the start of any global chat you type in. Helpful to badge & monster channels to sort out servers and character names for invitations. Helpful for SG coalitions to see what level someone is running.

This is how it looks in my bind file:

SHIFT+J beginchat /send "Justice Badge" [$name, lvl $level $Archetype]

I figured it out. When I saved my binds, I didnt realize it added quotes around the line.

so instead of [ beginchat /send "channel" [whatever]
it was giving me [ "beginchat /send "channel" [whatever]"

the extra set of quotes was messing it up. I took them out, and now it works great!

Thats a good thing to know about the extra quotes.

ok the old bind to use "afk" talk to tell some on your typing has a bad effect now that if you havea AFK message up it will tell it to all that try to "tell" you something, is there a new idea of a bind to use that will still tell others your typing , but not keep spawning messenges to those writing to you?

Posted

I've noticed this my self. It only happens why you are chatting with someone (ie your enter key or backspace key has been depressed so the AFK message goes up above your head), or you actually go AFK. I'm not sure there is a workaround for this. the way the new reply seems to be functioning is if you have the AFK message up it will reply with that AFK message. Sorry I can offer no help. If anyone knows anything I would like to hear your ideas.

On one of my characters to tell someone that I was typing something I used the laptop command.

I thought when i7 was release, that I had read something about the new AFK Autoreply/Away as a new feature. That as default it is enabled and that an option to disable. I just haven't found that yet if there is a disable option.

Hi folks. I know there has been a lot of questions about costume binds already. However i need to ask one more. What i am trying to do is have the costume change during the middle of a flip. I have tried a few different things that i can thing of to slow down the costume change, but to no avail so far. I was hoping someone might be able to help me or at least let me know it is impossible so that i can forget about it and move on. Thanks for your time.

You cannot change in the middle of an animation. you can change before after is tricky, but not during.

Bear with me. it's been a while since I did this.

you will need two files your original bind file and another one.

F11 "+local SHAZAM!!$$powexec_name X$$bind_load_file c:\[file location]\Shazam1.txt"

F11 "+$$CC 01$$bind_load_file c:\[file location]\CAPTAINMARVEL.txt"

not sure what power you wanted to use. Hope I got it right.

if you don't name your pets something completly different you have to use their whole name in your bind. Also when doing pet binds, while you can take shortcuts within the bind when your just starting out binding your pets its safer to enter the entier bind command rather then the shortened version of it.

and Slodeine as far as I know, no you can't do that. thats what you have the power icon for.

Blame Stateman then it's his quote. He said it in the tanker forums some time back. I read it as buff Resistance.

Coming soon to the bind school, I am going to revamp the whole thing so it's even easier to use for referencing this guide.

It'll be much easier for you to find questions to cross-reference and the answers you are most likly looking for.

Till the plans are complete, sit back, relax and enjoy the up-coming issue and veteran rewards.

Happy heroing and vile villaining.

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have a chat bind that will work in what ever the active channle is?

I have tried /bind say blah blah blah, but i also want it to match the bubble colors of my toons. So after a bit of thought, I tried /bind "say <bgcolor #xxxxxx50><color xxx>Blah Blah blah"
So when I go and use the bind, it pops up in the error tab saying I gave to many arguments... Any way around this?

This example worked for me just now: /bind decimal "say <color = #000000><bgcolor = #ffffff>Blah blah"

Ok, I'll try it again, but what is this decimal thing you have?

He probably means the decimal on the numpad. that would be my guess.

Posted

Yeah, it was the numpad decimal. I picked that because I knew my current character didn't have anything useful bound to that key.

Posted

oh, that's what you bound it to...

Hi there. First, let me say Welcome back to Winza (I noticed you were not around for quite a few posts and I was wondering if you ran away to bind other things.) I just read the entire forum. All 20 pages of it. Wow.

I just created my first Mastermind and I was hoping to make binds to have dialog between henchmen and my character.

But my character is strange. I would like him not to talk. Is there a way to talk in thought bubbles (telepathic conversations)? I will sacrifice that if I need to.

The real question is this: I have 10 or so characters. If I use a bind file (and I know other people asked this, but no clear answer was given, at least that I found) for Baroness Ana, will Baroness Pyre also have the same file associated with her?

The other question is: Whenever I make a new character, I have to spend 20 minutes resetting all of my keys. Is there a way to save the current keymaps that i have already set up- for one character and set them for another? And if you switch keybing files, will all of the keys change to default or will only the ones that are in the new file change?

In an attempt to be more clear (or confuse the subject): I have let's say 9 keys redefined. I want to use one of the scrolling conversations that Winsa has mentioned. When I load the next bind file I assume that the other 8 keys will retain their properties and the one that will change is defined in the new file is the only one that changes.

Is that correct?
