I'll say, are you people just plain bored, or what? You won't be paying two fees, it's been said a million times already that Statesman has made this bit of information known.

Hang on, I thought that you pay for the NCSoft account and that I thought that was all you needed to do for any NCSoft game. Is that not true?

Not true what statesman said was If it was up to him or criptic you would only pay one monthly fee for both games, and he would be fighting for just that. Then he said However, cryptic does not set priceing for the game or suppscription that NCsoft owned the marketing and destrabution and therefor NCsoft dicides on pricing issues, he would use his inflence in the hope of having only one monthly charge for both games but it was not up to him or criptic it's up to NCsoft.
My advice for cryptic fight dirty. 
Truly Intergrate the options.
If you have CoH you have 8 character slots
you can make a hero in each of your slots
If you have CoV You have 8 character slots
you can make a villian in each of you slots
If you got both then you have 8 character slots
they can either be a villian or hero
When you select create a character when you have both
it will ask if you want to create a hero or a villian
no matter if you launched from a CoH or CoV
If you have CoH when selecting your costume you
get ther hero side only
If you have Cov then you get the villian side only
If you have both you can mix and match.
Later on when cryptic starts feeling guilty they can have a character archive update and give more slots.
Do everything else you can to have both a little reduntant for
paying two subscrptions.
You can always make updates later

Yes, he has REPEATEDLY said that's what he wants to do.
Oddly, I never heard this "That's what I want and I'll be fighting for it" line, what I heard him say in the interview was that There was going to be one fee. In fact, I've never, ever seen a DEV suggest otherwise. I've only seen people in this thread LEAP to the conclusion that there were going to be seperate fees.
I'm not trying to put anybody down here, but consider the source. When a player says "I hope they don't have two fees", that doesn't mean that a dev ever said "there might be two fees", it just means a player was worried about the possibility.
I would be VERY suprised if there were two fees, given the number of times I've heard the devs suggest otherwise.

Well i am glad to hear that it is unlikely that a Dual payment plan will be in effect.
I play two accounts as it is for 30.00$ a month. Well actually less than that as i paid in advance, but point is made. 60.00 per month would stretch my resorces to very impractical. Forceing me to look elsewhere for my "No life" entertainment.
Hmmm, this is a confuesing thread, why hasn't anyone gotten a definate answer yet! I don't want to pay another monthly fee.

Because there IS no definitive answer. Nobody knows yet, not even the developers.

Ok i had to add my 2cents in and also laugh at the way so many people are stressing over this..
This is most likely how it will work and.
If you are a current CoH owner and going to continue playing only CoH, your payment will be 14.95 a month
If you are new to the game and pick up either CoH or CoV not both you will get one free month and be pay 14.95/month.
If you are a current subscriber to CoH and go out and pick up your copy of CoV for 50.00 you will add it to your current account and most likely have an extra 3.00 to 5.00 a month I dont see you getting a free month.. No expansion of any game has given you a free month that I have seen.
I have however seen expansions come out and the price for the game be upped monthly FOR EVERYONE! Not just the people who had the expansion EQ1 is a prime example I remember way back when it first launched it was like 4.00 less a month to play than it is now.
Before this happens please and i do mean PLEASE.. i ask you politly not to cry, whine and flame about how its not fair that they upped the monthly price. With constant inflation and with all the extra work they have done into the game with all the extra content they have added at no extra charge we should count ourselves lucky. If you are upset over a few extra bucks a month for having HOURS no make that DAYS AND WEEKS AND MONTHS of fun then might kindly ask you to take your upset BLEEP elsewhere

um, UO has had a number of expansions, don't they charge the same price that everyone else on the market does?
eq has had half a dozen + expansions, don't think they charge more than other mmo's out there, do they?
superbases for superheroes are only available if you buy cov right? same for these hero vs villain zones right?
so, since those are expanding upon the coh world, is it incorrect to state that cov is an expansion to coh that can be played independantly of coh?
if that is incorrect, please elaborate.

I agree totally...I think most people do as well. Its just not worth that much money.
I'd really like to order the CoV preorder, but I really can't justify it until this question is answered. I pay quarterly for CoH, and love it probably the most out of any game I've played in the past decade (playing since week one, and have loved the entire time).
But I am on a budget (as most people are). I can justify the one game I pay monthly for, but I'm really not going to run two full subscriptions at the same time. And I would hate to shell out $50 for a game that I only get to play for 32 days (not including beta).
Some official final response would be helpful.
PS - Great work guys. Regardless of how CoV goes, you've got a customer for quite some time in CoH.
The dev's have already stated that charging full price for both is not an option for them. They have said that it will be anywhere from $1-$5 extra.

Could you point me to that specific thread please? I've been looking for this specific information and cannot find it. I know that several devs have stated what they would LIKE to do, but I can't find any instances where it is stated what WILL be done.

Although, there is also the fact that there will have to be a CoH update/new content team, and a separate CoV update/new content team. That, plus server maintainance, is where the monthly fees go.
Granted, if they share servers, it doesn't factor into the cost so much.
I could see a separate monthly fee for both, say $15 for one (CoV or CoH), or $22-25 for both. The cost of the CoV box alone won't cover development and continuous updates, and I don't imagine they'll stop updating CoH with Issue 3 or 4...
I personally will plan for 2 fees. If it's only one at the current price, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I want to be rich too. And let's be honest - by the time CoV comes out, I'll have done everything there is to do in CoH many times over. I'll be happy to drop it if there is an additional fee, even 3-5 bucks.
