I remember that post b/c it was mine. That was about Fire/Lethal doing 10x the damage to DE Bladegrass instead of double. It's been long deleted now b/c of either content or age.

I was being sarcastic in knowing how quickly and effectively exploits (I personally don't exploit/pwrlvl) are taken advantage of and are soon seen as part of the game.

Holy necrothread Batman!

My highest level hero is a TPer. I have no problem with this fix. Want to know why? Because it was obviously a bug/exploit! I do think TP needs some serious loving but come on... whining about a bug fix serves no purpose other than flame bait.

It's a bug fix- but maybe a bit too limited. As it stands, it really does do some damage to the regular teleporters not being able to zoom back far enough to get a full-distance teleport off.

Apprently you missed the point of the post entirely. I have no problem with them fixing the camera distance so that it can no longer be used as an exploit. The problem I have with this is two-fold.

1) They didn't fix it, they just broke it the other damned way. The camera distances needed to actually pull off the exploit people were using were EXTREMELY high (well over a million yards). It isn't possible to perform this exploit at a million yards, let alone a thousand (which had been recommended to the devs as an appropriate fix btw). I personally would be more than happy with it set to 700 or so, as this is still useful and also fixes their initial problem. Hell, I'd happily compromise if they set it to 300-400 yards, at least I can see some point to CHANGING my camdist then. At 120 yards, I'm really no better off than I am at the max default mouse-scroll distance.

2) From what I have been able to glean reading the various threads that touch upon this topic, the camdist fix was intended to stop people from exploiting a hole to get underneath the map (which was possible in almost every map ingame btw). While I suppose this fix (overkill or not) does take care of the majority of the problem, there are still a rather large number of places in-game where people can STILL get under the map, over the war-wall, and that's AFTER they nerfed the camera down.

Essentially (and not for the first time this update), they've overkilled something that was usefull to a number of legitimate players in order to stop a few bad apples from doing things they shouldn't have been. Once again, they have pretty well failed to do much more than harm those legitimate players. Those few people who are wandering outside the maps to get hassle-free kills still can, just like the powerleveling goobers in the world will still be able to powerlevel like mad (PLing will be even better, some have gone so far as to say) after the Chapter 4 updates.

No no no no no. Teleport's range is just fine as it is. If they increased the cast time, you'd fall on yr butt. If you want to increase the range, add a range modifier onto it. IIRC you can teleport up to 240 yds if its slotted up. Teleport as it stands is still the fastest travel power in the game.
