Role playing, what role playing??!!
Except, of course, for the thousands of other players that you could role-play with.
lol i laugh at his ignorance
Players, and i've been playing a while now, enough to get to 40 once, and then get a few alts in the late 20's, don't role play, unless of course, we meet another spider-man clone, or x-men or even bobbo the clown. the role-playing u seem to fathom is lacking and not needed. Shoot and move on, Shoot and move on, Shoot and up yours!
lol it dosent matter how long you play to get to the net level when you rp. Thats why you dont understand you just wanna be the best, i would rather enjoy myself and talk as my character, then when it comes time yea we will fight. You just dont listen and you just want to lvl up. We dont, i like lvlin up but as long as i have fun on the way.

The funny part is you could have eight characters at level 40 and it wouldn't increase your credibility in my mind. Roleplaying is entirely different and you could play and 'beat' mmorpgs your whole life without understanding it unless you tried. We don't feel the need to explain it unless you feel the need to learn it.
The roleplaying comes as a respite from the "shoot and move on" attitude. It's much more entertaining in some people's minds to findout whatmakes other people's characters tick and interact with them. You seem to be missing the point of roleplaying. To play a character other than you, which would be the gamer that just shoots and moves on.
The Elysienne; Magical controller
Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.
Aenigma Rebis: "Actually, Ely's more like Jean Grey. Only... smart."
but you could roleplay some one who just shoots and moves on, like a hardcore fighter who just wants to kill, and dosent talk much and dosent get real involved with the other tema members. SO YOU HAVE BEEN ROLE PLAYING THIS ENTIRE TIME AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I love RPing.... I want to RP... but I am cursed onto a very un-RPing server.. Liberty
yea freedom isnt that good either for rping
There are plenty of RPers on lIberty... We just need to increase our PR...
There is an RP roll call on the Liberty board... check it out...
((psst i got to 32/28/23 on Victory with three characters.
I came here for a weekend to make alts to check out the 'unofficial' RP server. By monday my entire SG and about a half dozen Roleplayers we knew on Victory all left, we re-rolled on Virtue and haven't looked back...make the leap friend, it's only levels and experience you'll lose.. your characters can come with you ... AND be appreciated.))

Uuummm, no role-playing is ever needed anywhere. People roleplay because they want to, because it can be fun.
Question: What is the best server for RPing? I heard it was Virtue but want to make sure before i move to that server
Yep, it's Virtue. There's a very strong community of RPers there.
Defiantly Virtue. For example I spent about 2 and a half hours just talking with a few other heroes about the problems they were experiencing, trying to talk them down and reassure them.
On Virtue you can spend months at level 1, just RP'ing your time away.
Then there was this one time, with Big Lou wouldn't turn his boom box off and...

WOW !
after reading this post i went home on my lunch break to role an alt on Virtue. i had about 15 minutes of actual play time. when i arrived in Galaxy City and saw the chat channel filled with authentic heroic banter i knew this was the place for me.
I'm called "The Iron Falcon" look me up!
To RP or Not to RP...
The reason I quick playing D&D or Heroes Unlimited was because my group didn't RP. One battle to the next... They still enjoy rpg's. I pass. I think its all about character developement. If its the same thing day in day out, it gets boring. But when you're "in character", it has the possiblity of something new. The closest to RP'n without being "in character" is doing the missions and actually reading them, to get a feel of a greater purpose. Not just this mission will give me a badge. That is what I'm doing with Abysmal (freedom doesn't seem to have much RP'n going on). I've done the hunting for XP with Antrho, and yea it still rocks, but after reading these posts i'm creating an alt on virtue to give it a shot.
Virtue is so where it's at in terms of RP and just avoiding the mindless BS about powerlevelling, where the best MOBs are, and other game mechanics nonsense.
This one dude hopped around for like ten minutes going "Someone SK me I wan't to powerlevel, HEY!!! SOMEONE SK ME!! Hey! Why won't anyone talk to me!!! Hey, this my new toon, I want to powerlevel him!"
I laughed, because he was just going off for ever and jumping all over this one group talking about the 5th column and I went over and said, "Isn't that little green guy annoying?" and they were like, "we're ignoring him". (as in put him on ignore, in case you were like me and didn't understand the reason for emphasising "ignore" right away)
Finally he ran up to me. His description said, "I steal influence from people". Personally, I won't even spit on you if you don't have a description, regardless of how on fire you are. If I see a hero with even a half hearted attempt at a description down someplace away from a hospital, I'll always lend a hand. Up to and including bringing in a medic char to raise him or giving away a precious awaken.
Though recently I've decided to run my solos on Victory, and I've found 1 RPer there. "She" is awesome.
I made a character on Virtue because I figured it would be easiest to remember having made a character on that server.
I didn't expect it to be an unofficial RP server.
It looks like those who do RP have a lot of fun with it.
I have had 8 heroes in Virtue and the only roleplay I have found consisted of me talking to myself. There may be alot of them out there playing on Virtue, but they are very well hidden and seem to prefer to do their roleplaying on private channels, quite oblivious to those around them who would be thrilled to jump in.
There are roleplayers and roleplaying groups on Champion as well. Feel free to look me up if you're on that server and are looking to meet some roleplayers.
i just started and i find that it helps to have a powerful personality. not annoying but powerful. say things that cannot be mistaken for anything but RPing. and talking to myself has worked well but only when i do it in ear shot of others.
like earlier i went to the gathering area around the trainer after hunting Outcast all day and muttered
"didn't even make a dent... How did the Outcast get such a strong foot hold...?"
not long before i got a reply "I blame television"
I replied "brillinat. you think this is funny?"
what insued was a serious discussion about legislation against law enforcement in Paragon and how it's crippled heroes and police officers. Theother guy's character was very intelligent and well versed ont eh subject while mine was a meat and potatoes guy who ended up starting alot of senteces with "well, all i know is..."
also earlier in that same area i saw a few toons having a boom box jam. i walk up to them and start clapping "nice little party you got going here"
one replied "thanks you wanna dance"
"oh not right now. hey do any of you happen to know who Tommy Bryant is" thankfully none of them did. I then proceeded to tell themt he story of how he was just an normal 18 year old kid who was crippled for life standing up to a troll. all to protect his girlfriend. i ended the story with "kind makes you wonder where all the heroes were when ths was going down doesn't it?" Everyone fell silent and the party broke up. i wasn't being a jerk it's just how my character is. He's veteran heroe out of retirement because he's discussed with the way the cities gone down the tubes. Him seeing a bunch of "heroes" dancing around after having dispatched 16 muggers and 20 car theives would tend to piss him off.
i live for this [censored].
I recommend we begin a campaign against these "non-roleplayers," since they are now challenging our territory. Removal of these individuals would help the Clockwork a great deal, since it would mean less heroes running the streets, albeit most of those removed will be of lesser intelligence.
I recommend if someone challenges your character, don't let them understand what you are tring to accomplish, because by an insult or whine they have already blocked themselves from a much more advanced way of seeing things. I recommend ignoring them or treating them like they are obviously ignorant and out of place.
Then once a sufficient amount of heroes are removed, the Clockwork can easily attack and disable the nuclear power plant at Terra Volta, therefore turning off the shield walls around the zones, and the heroes and Rikti will destroy each other in combat, leaving all the scrap for the Clockwork.
Whale finded bunches of peepuls to talk wif on dat Virchoo place. Mosterest of dems is da nice cept fer a few meenieheads.
(( On a side note, it is possible to be a Rper AND a Powergamer. They do not have to mutually exclusive ))
Just shoot, they're in front, move on to the next mob, they're in front shoot, move on, shoot, move on......
No RP aspect in this game yet, none, nada, ziltch!
