The whole pointof that TP bind is to not see the reticle
Do this /bind lshift "powexecname teleport"
Hitting shift will turn the reticle on and off.
You will probably need to do this also /bind lshift+lbutton nop
Otherwise you may be trying to TP twice and it will cancel itself.

I use a gamepad to play COH and I'm wondering if you can bind commands to joystick button.

What I am trying to do is use two buttons to activate a power. For example,
/bind joystickbutton5+joystickbutton1 "powexec_name Entangling Arrow" but it doesn't work.

Can anyone let me know if this is even possible?

After a year's absence, I've returned to play CoH. I did a lot of binds back then, and discovered they had been saved on the server even after reinstalling CoH. The problem is, I don't have a clean default keybinds.txt file anymore (I had changed and saved an altered version to replace the default one), and I need to know the bind command for readjusting the camera angle to the center (i.e., not looking up or looking down) . I vaguely remember it was bound to the Page Up or Page Down key or something or other. Would someone please copy that command line for me? I'm so rusty with this and only managed to do binds before thanks to others' expert advice. /grin Thanks in advance!

[/ QUOTE ]

YOu should be able to export a default keybind file if you roll a new toon, and then type /bind_save as soon as you hit Outbreak. It'll be saved to keybinds.txt . Once saved, you can edit it or rename it, and load it with ANY character by typing /bind_load (for default keybinds.txt file) or /bind_load_file (filename) for a renamed bindfile. NOTEPAD FTW!!

As for the key to recenter - it's PgDn. Hold PgUP (or middle mouse button/scrollwheel) to move camera around your character.

PAGEDOWN "camreset"
PAGEUP "+camrotate"

I have to agree this FAQ is AWESOME. I have been away for a couple of months, and my working knowledge of binds and macros is rusty. I am trying to make a macro that does the following
1) says in local "Activate Holographic Imager"
2) does the emote drat
3) changes costume
I can't seem to get the costume change to work. Does anybody have any suggestions. The bind i tried was
/bind p, "emote drat$$local Activate Holographic Imager$$cc"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quick question, how do you bind a macro to a key? What's the command?

Posted

You'll have to retype the macro but you just change "macro" to "bind"...

ei. /macro Hi "say hi"
/bind g "say hi"

Your bind is good you just need to tell it which costume to change to...they are in order 0, 1, 2, 3 so.../cc 1 will change it to the second costume slot.

New question, I'm looking for a bind or macro combination for my Warshade that will return me to human form out of both Dwarf and Nova form. So I can press one button to put me back into human form. I know I saw this somewhere before, but I can't find it now.

OK. Here's a question.

Is it legal to put a /bind command INTO another bind command?

Here's the issue:

Currently my "follow" command has an added text string that indicates that I'm following, and names the target. However, Follow is a toggle. So I want to have a different message for when Follow is turned off.

i COULD load in a 1-line Bind file that reloads the F key...

but why not just re-bind the key directly?

Thoughts? Yes it sounds wacky.

Well, you can certainly do a toggle-bind that will execute follow and load the 'stop following' toggle on one press, then execute 'stop follow' and load 'follow' on a subsequent press. But, there is one big problem. Toggles like these can get out of sych with your state. If you're following someone, and you press any movement key, you will stop following, but you're bind won't cycle to the new bind, unless you tie all the move keys in with that bind. This can be done but get's difficult.

But, you can get around this by having a 'reset' key to easily reset to a specific mode, or just manually re-set by activating follow via the menue and re-setting using your follow key.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but you can't rebind the same key as you are using. So, you could use the S key to rebind the F key, but you can't use the F key to rebind itself. Also, even if it was possible, you couldn't use this to toggle between states, since you would need to bind a bind command which binds a bind command which binds a bind command...and so on.

Also, you can't nest quotes, which limits the complexity of the bound bind.

I've got a Logitech Wireless Click! Optical mouse. The scroll wheel is cool because it clicks left & right (as well as down), and there is also an additional button behind the wheel. However, I can't get COH to recognize either the side-to-side on the click wheel or the 4th button. "button4" is not recognized. Does anyone else have this mouse? Anyone know how to make it work? Thank you!

Try going to the options screen and selecting an option that you don't use. Click on the button, and see what name CoH assigns to it. Use that name for your bind.

I wish it were that simple! when i go to options/controls and click to assign the button, it does not replace it with anything. it seems to not recognize it exists at all! :-(

Hmm. Then it may be that CoH indeed does not recognize that button on your mouse.
(It's the only thing I can think of.)

Posted

it's likely I missed this.. there are different versions of "/em dance" each of these Dances should have their own names, yes? If so, is there a list of them about?

Posted

Last I checked, the different dances were random. :/

I think your correct. It would be nice if we had a /em dance01 - 06 I would use it (I hate that monkey dance).
