Quote:when i hit domination my dom turns into a purple dinosaurI've not followed the subject, if it's even been brought up before, but have there been any requests or Dev comments on maybe one day customizing the actual Domination visual effect? I know they plan to let us customize power pools, patron powers, etc. and would love to be able to change the rainbow sparkle effect of Domination buildup and activation. At the very least change the colors. At the very best change the theme - fire, elec, etc. similar to Aim variations.

Quote:that massive heal every 10seconds seems pretty solid to me. its the endurance that sucksIt seems to me, and many here, that FA is still by far one of (if not the) worst secondary for brutes AND scrappers.
It has no, none, zero defense to speak of and its resistance is not buffed to compensate for it. It does have a heal but that heal in no way makes up for the other glaring weaknesses.
I have a brute at lvl 45 and have finally given up on him....he just can not survive like all the other brute or even scrappers. I find it disturbing that NC Soft would let this very iconic power set still sit there and struggle.
I have to take so many other powers just to come close to the survivability of other scrappers/brutes it is ridiculous. Guess that is why you don't see many /FA running around unless they take SS......for the foot stomp mitigation. -
i think its because khelds have so much to choose from as it is. with 3 forms that you can play at any given time and so many powers at your disposal, APPs would just cause craziness. i think* thats what the devs have said before

and this'll be my brother's account i'll be playing on.

I have a fully IO'd and accoladed ill/emp troller and a non-accoladed emp/sonic defender with 3 IO sets. I must tell u that my endurance is alot better on the defender simply because of vigilance. We don't need another copy cat with the whole mezz thing. Blasters can already attack with their teir1 and teir2 powers while mezzed and doms have domination. We dont need another copy
And dont rely on those "High", "Medium", and "Low" marks on the character creation screen. Those are way off. Blasters have medium health, not low health. That's just rediculous considering their HP is just slightly under scrapper base.
I do believe Frosticus made a comparison btw corrs and fenders and fenders came out on top. And no, scourge is not as reliable as you think it is. -

Quote:wow seriuosly? heroes have had hibernate for much much longer than villains. villains just got hibernate in i13. yes i13. took 13 issues. so deal with it. heroes have hibernate and have had it for a while. and yes, there were changes. hibernate can be activated a minimum of 2mins. that means it cant be activated any sooner, no matter how much recharge you have. back in the day there were alot of blaster who could hibernate every 60seconds or less and could still phase right after their hibernate and the villains had no answer to that. so get over itVillian Hibernate has become very popular. It's used prodigiously on Protector in RV. From my experience due to it's fast activation times (.5 sec) it can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in most situations, dare I say practically all. IMO its effectiveness should be reduced mildly in some way. A few suggestions off the top of my head (pick only one): Increase the recharge time. Increase the cast or activation time. Allow a phased player to attack someone in Hibernate. Add a significant travel suppression when the toggle drops (that would also be consistent with having just come out of deep-freeze). Apply a short interruptability to it.

does the singularity have its own mezz suppression timer or does its base 2second hold mess up the dom's/troller's base 4second hold? does the dom's/troller's hold overide the singularity's hold?

Quote:i really dont understand why the brute values are much lower. brute base damage is so much lower than scrapper base. at .75 right? and scrappers are at 1.25%?? thats huge. even with fully fury, a scrapper would outpace him before crits come into play. i remember the DPS numbers you posted for scrappers and brutes Billz. i think scrappers had 214DPS and brutes were at 208? refresh my memory plzThere's been some confusion, caused by me I'm betting, regarding the endurance and recharge discounts for claws and how they've been altered by the DPS tweak claws received during the last animation overhaul.
The old rule was simple: Take 20% off of the calculated endurance and recharge.
Here are the current discounts for scrappers and brutes:
Scrap Endurance Discounts:
Swipe: 26.5%
Strike: 26%
Slash: 20.3%
Focus: 5.3%
Spin: 49.4%
Evisc: 34.3%
Shock: 16.1%
Brute Endurance Discounts:
Swipe: 19.5%
Strike: 15%
Slash: 11.2%
Focus: -3.5%
Spin: 39.4%
Evisc: 25.3%
Shock: 9.5%
Scrap Recharge Discounts:
Swipe: 32.4%
Strike: 29%
Slash: 20.4%
Focus: .1%
Spin: 52.8%
Evisc: 36.6%
Shock: 15.5%
Brute Recharge Discounts:
Swipe: 19.2%
Strike: 13%
Slash: 8.3%
Focus: -10.9%
Spin: 41.2%
Evisc: 26%
Shock: 8% -
Quote:well the devs take your words in more than others right? knock some sense into them. because you are correct- the only other end-game content IS PVP. you can make toon after toon after toon and it WILL get boring. playing against actual players is much more dynamic than pve has to offerDR is intended to even the playing field and make pvp more accessible to a wider array of players. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Those players that were now supposed to be included in the new demographic never showed up and DR just pisses on pretty much anyone that spends time actually focusing on their build. I think it is asinine at best to introduce character tweaking as pretty much the only end-game content and then effectively disable that feature for the only other end-game content: pvp.
You gotta wonder what is going on in their heads. I mean I get why they did it, but it really should have been a non-starter when brought up in the current implementation. Basically ya, setting off a nuke will demolish the building your looking to take down, but that should be the last resort, not the go to plan A. -
Quote:i actually wondered WHY the hell was diminished returns implemented? well, i finally found out why. the other day i was on my hero sg and the member who was in RV with me said she wished that IOs were turned off in pvp. i was like wtf?? she further explained to me that she doesnt have the time to get all the goodies and she tought it was 'unfair' that others were IOd out... but she was on her husband's toon... so i thought to myself, well instead of going along with altitis they should have worked to together to IO out their regen scrapper (which ofcourse are the best scrappers) instead of being freaking LAZY...don't bother, of course most of you know this, most of you would have told me this had I asked anyone about it, but I was just wondering how much defense I could muster in PvP and if it would matter at all.
It doesn't.
In PvP it translated to 48.8% or something like that. I was a little dissapointed having reworked my entire build and had really only gained 5% more than I had at the start.
But I thought to myself, hey, that's still a good number, maybe I can be elusive to heroes.
I wasn't.
Obviously buildup + aim was going to make that a joke, but here was what was really aggravating to me. When a blaster attacked me without aim or buildup, they still somehow had a 55% chance to succeed at range (with LAZERBAEMS!). I can't even imagine how it worked out to that. Maybe some sort of emp buff? (sorry a little noobish on heroside stuff).
Moral of the story?
Give up, give up nao.
Edit, edited the title to be more clear. It's not a melee char, I can't just user stalker tactics.
so in short, DR was implemented for the lazy because they dont wana spend the TIME to make their toons good. they cried and cried to the devs to have IOs turned off in pvp and the devs returned with a 'compromise'. which to me is just stupid. just like in real life, you gotta work to get anywhere. and i hate DR. -

Quote:and the change to Energy Transfer doesnt make fury drop too?Bill speaks the truth. I tested this. Hibernate = -100% damage (for the lols). oh and your fury would slowly drain while hibernating. infact, it would drain faster, just like it does while you rest.
Hibernate = Bad for Brutes
who cares if hibernate drops fury. other things drop fury. just gives us what we want- Ice Armor. and the regen set would be nice too -
Quote:oh its not Reptilian Armor. its Dinosaur Armor! What sets this idea apart from anything else that already exists? Where is there anything unique that will make me want to roll something as limiting in concept as Reptilian Armor?
what's unique is that brutes dont get ice armor or the regen set. why not sort of mesh the regen with ice armor? sounds good to me -
Quote:i thought of going for something more unique, but i wanted to get ice armor on brutes. since the devs frown upon that idea, i thought maybe they could give us something along the lines of what i've put downI don't see anyone bashing the idea. This is a forum and we are here to exchange ideas. Things would be fairly stale if we all just agreed about everything ever posted.
On that note, I am not sure if the OP is serious or kidding, but I think the storm armor set or rad armor seems more likely and interesting than this. -

In the beginning, the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Through unknown/unproven forces, they went extinct.. or so we thought. Now with a ripple in time, a new era of supers have arrived. Whether the cause was from a mutation, techonological advancement, or through the use of science, certain supers have aquired the feared Dinosaur Armor.
1. Scales (auto): Your body is naturally covered in scales, giving you defense to smashing, lethal, energy, and negative
2. Thick Skin (toggle): After years of evolution, your skin has grown deeper and become highly resistant to cold and fire, and you are more resistant to slows and -recharge.
3. Lizard regeneration- like the lizards of today, you are able to completely regenerate full body parts. effect lasts 30 seconds with an unenhancable regen rate of 800% and base recharge of 240 seconds.
4. Dinosaur vertebrae (toggle)- dinosaurs were huge. They often had a huge ego. With the ego comes the strength to resist fear as well as protection against hold, sleep, knockback/knockup, stuns, and even taunts.
5. Hunters instinct (taunt toggle): The more enemies in sight, the more you begin to rage adding to your damage and acc. The first enemy you see gives you the greatest bonus, with bonus range up to 10.
6. Enhanced recovery (auto)- the dinosaur has incredible endurance, able to live longer than several decades. His endurance is due to an enhanced recovery rate. They even have minimal resistance to recovery debuffs and drains
7. Pea brain (toggle)- dinosaurs have small brains. Their thinking capacity was just enough for them to survive. Their minimal mental footprint has left them with a nice defense and resistance to psionic attacks. they also have an inherint increased perception
8. Armor plating(toggle): Over the years, you have adapted to your environment and evolved sturdy back armor plates increasing your defense to smashing, lethal, energy, and negative.
9. Fossel- after watching several of their brethren become fossilized by the earth itself, the dinosaurs have found the secret to surviving anything. Through a quick physical mutation, the dinosaur can instantly turn into a fossel, making him invulnerable for a short time but he cannot do anything.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
since you devs dont want to give us brutes ice armor, give us Dinosaur Armor!! -
i wish you could also change the animation to brawl like the other powers. I'd like to use 'pimp slap'
-
-
"NRG Aura" doesnt hold a candle to ice armor. hoarfrost and hibernate makes ice last so much longer than energy drain.. and that Overload makes you run for cover when or before it drops.
-
Quote:Energy transfer slows fury....Ice slows enemy attack rates down and so is not much good for fury building.
Claws is a pretty quick set and is probably going to be really good for fury.
i think if the player wants ice/ or /ice they should be able to. every set has its drawbacks. why not let a brute choose a set he wants to play as a brute? tankers and scrappers both get elec...
i'd really like to see regen on a brute though -
