Trying to ease back into PvP....
merc traps can be ok, but just ok.
plant/emp as pure support would work.
like barrier said but the MM is hard to play effectively.
Also the arch/em is you best overall pvper in the list above
The Kat/SR can be really fun with swift+hurdle+sprint+quickness+ninja run+Gift of the ancients
With elude it hits around 90.
Without elude the speed is a little slower then super speed, although i never notice unless i'm running beside someone. But the control you gain is amazing. There are a lot of movement techniques i cannot pull off with my other characters using super speed.

anyone with consistent -def or +to hit will destroy you.
Defense can be good, and i always prefer a challenge like SR

Your best bets are Arch/Energy Blaster for offense, or Plant/Empathy Controller if you want to play support. I wouldn't bother with the others.
The problem with defense is that it relies on luck and is directly countered by powers almost everyone has access to. Sure, when you're in a tier 9 you might notice people missing more, but defense isn't reliable enough for serious PvP. When my Elec/WP Stalker pops Shadow Meld, the 95% hit rolls against me drop into the 60-70% range which I guess is okay but when there's a lot of stuff coming at me that means 2/3 to 3/4 of it will hit me, and that's all keeping me from getting back into hide.
Regarding the OP's question:
* Plant/Emp if spec'd as a support build since Plant is mostly bad in PvP
* Arch/EM can be decent - certainly not top-tier... more middle-of-the-road but still decent since it's got a heavy hitter at 80 feet and the inherent acc bonus basically negates elusivity
* The Crab would be a decent anti-Stalker toon for arena matches but pretty terrible in zones. You could always forego the concept and make his second build into a Bane, since they're a bit more useful in open PvP.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
wrong..../ea on stalker is pretty beastly. If they raise elustivty from 10% to about 20%.....it will be a whole new ball game.

i have a fully purpled and pvp io'd elec/ea stalker.
outside of overload, it's like not having a secondary.
also, elusivity got lowered from 20% to 10%, the nerf isn't getting reversed. at most, expect a halfway point between those two numbers.
lol i never quit against you barrier. If your saying that cargo was advantage then whatever. Musey has beat my rad there tons of times. Just admit that you live up to your name bad barrier. I beat you end of story. No way should a rad beat a mind/fire dom, regardless of map.

after we ran the cargo and yeah, i lost to your bad rad, we ran perez. please remind me of what happened there?
as i remember it i wrecked you about 4 times in the first 5 mins, you started crying about mind doms (wow, divine crying, how weird huh?) and quit 6 mins in.
still, my favorite match is still that 8-0 against the new fotm: archery blasters.
way to let the downs show, divine.
selective amnesia eh?

...you made a rain of arrows build just to deal with masterminds, taunted it in ac, asked me to duel, and as soon as i agreed, you bolted the other way.
Demon Slayer. status.

LMAO......i made that cause everybody was messing with me when i was pveing with it to get the accolades why i did not take rain of arrows......so i made a second pve build. As for fighting thermal mm in arena on a blaster with no accolades no thanks. I heard your MM did great against dexs scrapper though. NO WAI MY MM LOSES TO A SCRAPPER. I heard it got pretty ugly..and im not talking about for dex. lol
Back before i13 I used to run around Sirens Call, Warburg and RV stomping with my Energy/Energy blaster. I've tried to get back into PvP with new characters since then, but I just don't have the drive to level any more characters. I just want to see which of my 50's have the most PvP potential so I can set up a seperate build for them.
Here's what I have at or near 50.
Energy/Energy Blaster
Elec/Elec Brute
Crab Spider (he's slotted for tanking, and for concept reasons cannot have a bane build)
Katana/Reflexes Scrapper
Kinetics/Psychic Defender
Plant/Empathy Controller
Arch/Energy Blaster
Mercs/Traps Mastermind
If none of these have PvP potential I'll ditch it all together and stick to PvE, im just plain sick of constant leveling and farming.
