  1. I do have terrify slotted for dmg, and it is pretty sweet. My current AoE is generally sleet, terrify, then consume. But thats just not enough.

    But if ice storm+sleet does ok i think ill try that out. Im really not a fan of fire breath. I just find the cone isnt wide enough.

    Brutes doesnt do much more damage than Tankers... unless they are buffed and end up doing almost as good as a scrapper. (slightly more sheer damage at cap +dmg, crit pushes Scrappers abit forward).

    Now on small team or solo the scrapper will do MUCH more damage and the tanker will be WAY tougher.
    This is COMPLETE bull. First off, you don’t seem to understand what tanking it. It’s not just about how survivable you are. It's about the ability to protect your allies and make sure everything is attacking you. Most scrappers simply can’t do that, no matter how tough they are, brutes can.

    In the current state of the game brutes are better than tanks...by a lot...at everything. My /fire yes FIRE, the LEAST survivable of ALL the armor sets has tanked the hardest things in the game. And a brute does A LOT, and i mean A LOT more dmg than a tank with the same powers. (of course the fire tank will do more dmg than a granite brute) I think it takes about...5% fury to pass a tank in dmg.

    Then again, a single tank can bring with them 20% -res. So against AVs that helps everyone do more dmg. Too bad it doesnt stack though.
  3. Well, I've had this dom for a while. He was in fact created with the sole purpose of doing a solo LRSF. Of course, while putting him together and playing him i found out that he was ******* fun and quickly became my favorite toon. But after i20 hit he fell behind my SS/fire as my favorite toon, mostly because of his lack of AoE, so he went into sleep mode for a few months while i started punching people while lighting them on fire. But now i want to dust him off and get back to confusing people while lighting them on fire.

    Anyway, i can’t quite figure out how i want to get more AoE on him without sacrificing too much STdps and my ability to kill AVs *quickly.* Because my first thought would be to get pyre, so i can get fire ball and rain...but i dont want to lose sleet. Yet i am worried if ice storm offers good AoE. Then i noticed combustion, which looks pretty good but that long animation has me worried. Of course, reactive will be more affective in combustion that a rain power...currently anyway.



    So here is build one, mind/fire/pyre. It has combustion now, but if rain is better i would get that. Its not soft capped to s/l either but with the growing amount of nrg dmg im just tried to get 20 s/l/e/n.

  4. I very rarely see someone ask for somethign specific unless it's an Mo or speed run. Then i tend to see people asking for debuffs.

    On MOs i tend to see "need granite tank" but to me that is like someone asking for a healer, just know thats gonna fail. But i have a deep seeded hatred of granite tanks.

    I really cant stand it when people ask for any specific powerset, it just couldnt be any farther from what they REALLY need... a decent player.

  8. It isnt THAT bad, and elec/ will do just fine.

    One of the really good things about elec is that thunderstrike can take the FF+rech proc. (LR can as well but it not that useful) Right now that is the biggest reason SS is better than fire. But the problem with thunderstrike is that it will rarely hit 10 targets, even in AE, and its AoE dmg is even less than FS. To top that all off its got an animation that is almost 30% longer. Jacobs ladder isnt even worth getting.

  10. No one said that DM/fire/mu sucked. They said that it was the fire/mu that makes it good. After that the primary doesnt even matter that much, fire/mu gets you 3 AoEs, a dmg aura, and the SINGLE BEST POWER IN THE GAME FOR INCREASING DMG...FE.

    After that the primary is just filler to get you a full attack chain.

    One of the problem with elec though is that it doesnt have that one really good AoE attack. While fire has FSC, and claws has spin. But thuderstrike is nothing more than a glorified cone and ends up being even WORSE than most cones, for AoE its really ****. And then LR gives you an amazing 10 dps. So unlike almost any powerset elec does an awful job of giving you a good attack chain.

    This, x1000. This stuff is designed to kill tanks, so it also kills everyone else (even tho it DOESNT kill the good tanks). The only way they could do that, would be to have insanely high base dmg and tohit, hell...i would think ticks 9999 dmg wouldnt even be enough for the toughest tanks if they have enough support backing them up. But that sure would ******* pwn everyone else.

    I have to say, i love it when people complain about something but i just think how easy that was, i guess im just epic. :P
  12. you are slotted for positional def, a big no when it comes to invul. So you only soft cap when 10 critters are within range of invul, that is very rare. And you are nowhere near 59% the soft cap in the itrials

    Once you hit defs I really dont enjoy playing any of those ATs. Only hating WSs with a passion.

    Brutes and doms (a perma dom at least) win out by quite a bit totally the most fun ATs in the game for me.
  13. I dont have a problem with it, infact i rather enjoy it. With the huge size of leagues people will be running at the softcap almost the entire time. Hell, they might even have their res capped. Still getting hit for something is nice, makes it hard.

    I dont even have a problem with keyes, my main is able to survive thru it just fine thanks you healing flames. But i can see why someone wouldnt like it for sure,

    I laugh at anyone that complains about nova fist, blue and green patchs and the like. Hell, i NEVER run away from nova fist and still survive at least 90% of the time. Nova hits for roughly 20 dmg less than your max hp

    Nope, its anyone near you. So if you and your league are stupid that could infact be the entire league. Thats why people with 2 rings tend to run out of melee.

  17. No one ever said you "need" purples and a well rounded build is possible. Any content build will generally be pretty damn awesome at farming, of course a farming build will suck at content.
    Infact, if you are making an SS/fire i would always recommend you make a content build so you can get iPowers easily, unless you are way crazy about getting your time down there is really no need to make yourself useless in content.

    But "good" is relative.
  18. 32.5% s/l 50% +rech (from sets) is what you want what you wanna try and shoot for.
    On the more expensive builds you can soft cap and get to 50% or so +rech or get more +rech and keep 32.5% def
  19. I'm not too good with claws but you got a lot of slots in there that arent doing you any good. Health and stamina both have pretty bad slotting, 5 slotted kin combat, 6 posi, etc
  20. Get ion and reactive.

    Reactive is THE best hands down for interface.
    Ion is only slightly better than the other judges, its more epic too imo because you get get those orange words and it just looks awesome.


    But some changes that are on beta right now (hopefully they are supposed to make it to live) have made it so even if the target dies Ion still does its stuff.
  21. I'd me more worried about the lack of barrier for an MoITF, unless you use a bunch of insp than the soft cap. The hardest hitting thing in the TF i ran into was the dmg aura nictus before you kill rommie the first time. This was the only time i died, or even came close to it, first time i solo'd an ITF. But if you bring a support pet with you should easily be able to do it. I didnt even have darkest night when i did mine, but you do, also.


    At this point in the game a solo ITF is my benchmark for "good" when it comes to a toon...
