I agree the sets way to busy visually. It's a disaster with so many of those life giving spores, I can only imagine on a league of them. I really wish we could have an option to really turn down other player effects dramatically not just for this set.
Personally I find it more fun to actually see what Im doing when playing on a team but when everyone's effects start to overlap so much that its just a blur I might aswell not be playing.
So I solo a lot to rectify this but I do miss playing on smaller teams. This seems to be a common issue in mmos these days eventually effects just mesh up so much from so many players. Even newer games cant seem to avoid it, though Im really looking forward to this weekend. -
I really want a support/melee or melee/support AT. A balance between blaster secondaries or dominator secondaries with the support sets.

This isn't always the case though, as sometimes... someone forgets to use the correct modifier.
But overall, Defenders offer much more support to their allies and are much sturdier themselves because of higher debuff values and self buff values.
Sidenote not really related to the conversation: It always bugs me when the Defender AT description in articles or reviews includes "best healing" since the difference between their healing and other ATs' healing is much smaller than the difference between everything else listed above compared to the other ATs. -

Why do defenders -regen powers have the same value as the other ATs? Controllers and corrs have the same number. Shouldn't defenders be better at debuffs? I'd think thatd make them stand out abit more.

With issue 23's announcement on another new zone "night ward?" something like that I just have to give a huge *sigh. It so unfortunate that many zones already that are extremely cool like:
First Ward
The Pretoria area
All the hazard zones blueside specially the shadow shard
Faultline
and many more are almost completely barren of actual players. I am not much for thinking of ways to help this if it needs to be helped, but I feel like it is such a shame that such cool looking zones go unused by the majority of the playerbase.
Why do you think that is? Will this new zone become more wasted space? What would you do to bring in more players to these areas if you think we should be even bothering to go to them?
I'll be honest though I've never read any of the npc text boxes fully in my whole time playing cox, tl;dr lol for the most part cause it doesn't really have incentive for me. Maybe that has something to do with it, being part of the player base that's like me and not caring for the story they give us. Though I do appreciate a cool looking zone that clearly says its story almost just by looking at it. -
Would it be possible for male characters to get a edited version of the bolero magic witch tops the girls get?
That dynasty pack coat is so cool I really wish I could use it with the weird sleeve thing it has instead of the fur.
Oh and butt capes. -
I know right!! Sometimes I couldnt get the healing abilities to heal teammates in time cause I had the gun out on and off and that slight delay meant "oops" for them lol. I love that character so much too T_T the beam/pain. But it's really one or the other when it comes to playing him, I definatly cant be using the gun as often cause of that reason.

I'm sure this has been brought up time and time again but I was wondering if they had any plans at all to change up how powersets with weapons redraw constantly whenever you use a power that isn't from that weapon?
It drives me nutty and actully has put me off a bunch of powerset combos cause I feel that little lag between changing powers. I really started to feel it on my corr beam/pain at higher levels so much swapping >_<
I can't really suggest how to fix it I don't know how the mechanics of it work actully. Something about dps? I don't know but I'd love to not have to put the weapon away every other second and not have that delay when I bring it back out and try to attack with it. -
Yeah me too, depends how long its multiplayer keeps me hooked. The main game is probably going to keep me away for a decent while too.
Did they fix gravities propel though? I heard it had the truely terrible idea of making it a AoE KB power with a control set that doesnt even prevent knockback on its own AoE immobilize.(The AoE hold doesnt count its recharge is to long) -

Something like this for the rocket launcher...
...complete with quad rocket firing. Engine permitting, each rocket could have its own to-hit check. I'd see it as a lethal/fire targeted AoE that has a huge radius, but deals the most damage closer to the point of impact. Side effects could include stuns, terror, knockdown, or knockup(one per each rocket, incapacitating a mob during its firing period).
And the minigun is obvious, the temp power from Praetoria already in the game.
It could be a (relatively) narrow cone, with armor piercing rounds that ignore half of the enemies' lethal resistance. Other effects could potentially be a major speed debuff or S/L res debuffs.
I play mostly military-themed characters, and the current judgements barely fit their concept at all. Vorpal makes the most sense, but still asks that you submit your character into being a martial arts expert/super speed maniac. You can bet your bottom dollar I'd spend way more time playing level 50 with that mad hardware.
And speaking of concept, you can just say that the Well granted you the power to carry the weapons/ammo for this.
I'd love an earth style one too, use the earth costume change emote power on a huuuge scale or somthing thatd be awsome. -

If the points were seperated from real money they technically don't lose anything and the player gets to clear up some space in their inventory. I'm mostly thinking for the non tradeable IO sets, sometimes I just buy a set and one of the IOs in the set isn't useful to me, my fault but whatever.
The devs could surprise me again with some sort of work around. It could even tie into the reward tokens since some people don't really use them for the repeatable rewards too. -
So I noticed that sometimes I end up buying sets of IOs or content that sometimes I don't really need anymore, or have used but find I don't use them anymore for whatever reason. I know it was my choice and purchases are final I don't mind but I've seen other F2P games have a function of a seperate "tab" in their online shops for a sell back sorta deal.
Basically you could sell back certain digital purchases for sell back points. Sell back points can then be used to buy other things from the store(sometimes unique items only bought with sell back points).
These points were seperate from your main points (real money) and many of items you could sell weren't really worth very much but it was a way to get some use out of some purchases that you didnt find useful anymore.
Maybe CoX could find a way to implement such a thing, giving all items in the shop a "purchase with Paragon Points (real money) or a buy with Sell Back Points.
Or to even simplify the whole thing just have the sell back points go as minor Paragon points. Like normal selling, its not worth very much after you bought it but itd be nice for over spenders like myself lol. I dont think this is probably a big deal for most people but Im gonna toss this out there. -
Here's hoping males get a version of the bolero witch top. I'd love some more equality. Dynamic animated pieces should get special attention.

Just going on the record again to make sure its noted. I seriously hope that males get a variation of the animated bolera coats that females get. That dynasty pack coat that only girl characters get is so cool its a shame Ill never get to use it (definatly not purchasing) as I like to play male characters most of the time.

I'm very annoyed with this sort of update only because of one thing. Females already have more options for dynamic animated clothing options which in turn are 100% better then anything the males get. Yet the female characters still want the "lower" options that males have.
Dynamic animated clothes exclusive to females are
*Magic bolero tops (looks 10x nicer then trench coats)includes a new coat in the dynasty pack, animated.
*Gunslinger pack gives them a animated butt cape
*Butt capes for widows.
*The wedding packs head veil.
It's sooo not fair! T_T I'd be more then happy for equality if the males got to have such epic options too, but no we stay static. Why have trench coats not gotten any attention? could use more variations there anything animated honestly. *sob* -
I have to agree with %100 of everything TonyV has laid out about the topic.
If I were to put it in my own words though it'd be something rather snarky and mean like "Those desperatly fighting so hard for 100% solo content need to go play a offline game, end of story. That way you never have to interact with people like me. Trust me you'll be happier for it, and so will I." Heck many offline games can offer even better options to gameplay and freedom then CoX could with better graphics.
Pro team player all the way in this MMO setting and in life in general. Positive teamwork and helping hands has always been way more fun. -
I don't mind when players rush ahead and start fighting groups of enemies if they can handle it BUT OMG BUT! DO NOT this aggreivates me sooo much DO NOT jump to the next group when you still have bosses left behind to defeat!!! Arrrg Some of my squishy characters get clobbered by bosses and none of the other enemies, its no feat to beat up minions and LTs its the bosses that cause the most trouble imo.
Why does scraplock have to extend to "Oh noes someones taking my mobs here I better rush to the next one because I want to finish off the group by myself befor they get here even though Im not done here with this mob".

I've been so excited for this set I had to share my findings! This set is beautiful, specially the confuse power O.O
Im not sure what happened but darkness control showed up in my game on beta servers. So I took advantage of the moment and recorded it and put it on my youtube page. Enjoy!

Okay I suppose I should warn about spoilers but I don't think that's the biggest concern right now.
So it seems on beta we have got a power set for masterminds called
"Beast Mastery" With all the powers definitions and some of the powers being unfinished and what not its in its very early stages of development. Now the thing is I thought things like new powersets the developers always had to keep extremly hush hush, I mean the tier 9 of darkness control set alone was a big mystery.
So Im guessing this is a HUGE blunder on someones part in the studio. Marketing department would be going nuts right? Me personally am just extremly dissapointed cause I was really looking forward to seeing dark control but I'll have to wait and I guess it's not that big a deal to us the players anyway.
It's also possible maybe dark control was causing system crashes or something last minute and instead of releasing nothing they put a set that wasn't finished but at least not causing a huge problem so we could stay happy? lol I don't know Im just curious as to whats happening in the studio now with such a mistake reveal of a power set.
