Purchsed Items Sell back Points

So I noticed that sometimes I end up buying sets of IOs or content that sometimes I don't really need anymore, or have used but find I don't use them anymore for whatever reason. I know it was my choice and purchases are final I don't mind but I've seen other F2P games have a function of a seperate "tab" in their online shops for a sell back sorta deal.

Basically you could sell back certain digital purchases for sell back points. Sell back points can then be used to buy other things from the store(sometimes unique items only bought with sell back points).

These points were seperate from your main points (real money) and many of items you could sell weren't really worth very much but it was a way to get some use out of some purchases that you didnt find useful anymore.

Maybe CoX could find a way to implement such a thing, giving all items in the shop a "purchase with Paragon Points (real money) or a buy with Sell Back Points.

Or to even simplify the whole thing just have the sell back points go as minor Paragon points. Like normal selling, its not worth very much after you bought it but itd be nice for over spenders like myself lol. I dont think this is probably a big deal for most people but Im gonna toss this out there.

its an interesting idea but theres actually not much it could be used for

the only real stuff it could be used for is the attuned IO sets since almost everything else is either a consumable or something permanent such as powersets, storage increasers, or costume sets

personally i would never spend real money on the IOs anyway since i can get them for free (in game currency only)

Yeah it's interesting but I don't ever see this happening.

If they institute this, it would be the very first case of virtual used goods sales in recorded history, or at the very least that I'm aware of.

Uhm the record of your account purchases. Besides I'm pretty sure that if they were crazy enough to add this feature they'd restrict it to items that are bound to either your account or character. They'd also probably wouldn't allow items you got from the super packs.

I'd like to be able to trade in the crap i never claim from Reward Tokens for something I'd actually use. Not the same, but still, I never claim the prestige sprints or the minipets, except by accident.

Given that this "hybrid model" is still in the business of making money, this is highly unlikely.

Thats what so many people on the fourms said when I suggested if we could have a way to transfer items and influence between our own characters. Somthing like this could be created down the line, much more polished of course.

If the points were seperated from real money they technically don't lose anything and the player gets to clear up some space in their inventory. I'm mostly thinking for the non tradeable IO sets, sometimes I just buy a set and one of the IOs in the set isn't useful to me, my fault but whatever.

The devs could surprise me again with some sort of work around. It could even tie into the reward tokens since some people don't really use them for the repeatable rewards too.

No they didn't. The game didn't switch to a hybrid business model until a year after that feature was added to the game.

Players were suggesting that feature for several years, and no one ever said that the reason email transfers hadn't or shouldn't be added was because the company wanted to make money.

I'm gonna have to ask for links to that thread cuz I'd love to see who said that if it was indeed said.

I don't have any links to those exact words sorry. I miss phrased what I said, I should have only quoted the part about it not really having a chance and only recalling how some players felt my idea was not really helpful but it happened in its own sorta way.

I need to carefully pick out my wording next time befor going on my memory and posting on a idea forum.

It was fleshed out into a much better and simplified version to what I wanted basically *Thank you devs!!!*. Big omg yes moment when it did, I totally needed it.

This thread http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=137269.

Sorta like this idea. The point is it could happen in some shape and would be a cute quality of life for big lazy spenders like me.

Not a problem. We've all miss phrased or could have quoted things better by accident. But I have also seen some outrageous arguments get made that are pure entertainment gold. Like the guy in November that tried to claim he couldn't afford things on the market because he only made 70k a year. (the thread ended up getting modsmacked into deletion), or the guy that argued that the Super Tailor feature in the Science booster was going to promote real life cross dressing in children.

My favorite tho was the guy that wanted the sub fee lowered because he couldn't afford a subscription here on top of what he paid monthly for (and he took the time to post a detailed list with how much he paid) a dozen other online games, maid service, gambling, adult entertainment, alcohol, restaurants, 4 types of insurance, video rentals, electronics, movie theatres, and groceries. He also implied that he's paying monthly on furniture and computer.

And when we suggested he simply cut back on what he spent on booze, adult entertainment, and gambling. Or he skip one movie or one meal at a restaurant he got mad and called everyone rich spoiled brats. (roflmao)

I wouldn't mind being able to do this. I bought dual pistols and demon summoning, and can't see myself ever using them.

As I recall you bought the Going Rogue expansion, not the individual Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning Power sets that are currently on the market. The original expansion was never for sale on the paragon market, but if it were you'd be selling back everything you got with the original GR expansion.
