I have a bunch of characters waiting to be made when GR comes out. All have low-level placeholders keeping their names.
I'll be making:
Captain Blakstar - DP/Ice Blaster
We R Legion - Demon/Therm MM
Worker 7 - DB/?? Scrapper or Brute
Bengrim The Bold - Axe/WP Brute
Ran Chaos - NRG/NRG Blaster -
Quote:Recluse: He'd need to have an Ariados somewhere on his team. Other than that, I imagine him with either a full Dark team (Weavile, Honchkrow, Tyranitar, Houndoom, and Crawdaunt) or a Multi-type team (Alakazam, Machamp, Salamence, Tyranitar, and Gyarados)
Black Scorpion; Probably want to go with Drapion for the high leveled one in the party, Gliscor, and probably fill the rest with the previous forms of those two and bug/steel types like Forretress, Scizor, and Wormadam. Might want a Metagross for good measure.
Mako; Sharpedo, Carvanha, Corsola, Qwilfish, Garchomp, and, for lulz, Mudkip (or, for less lulz, Swampert)
Scirocco; Here, I'd probably deviate from the type norm, and go for things like Scyther, Shedinja, Weavile, Kabutops, Hitmontop, Gallade, Farfetch'd, Marowak, or Lucario
Ghost Widow; Heavy focus on Ghost/dark types, with move sets that involve curse, status effects, and self healing. Mismagius, Spiritomb, Dusknoir, Froslass, Sableye, Umbreon
Y'know? doesn't look that different from your standard Elite 4 load-out... Got your one-trick ponies up front that a single damage type could mop the floor with... the tough-guy and ghost/dark bringing up the rear to soften you up before the champion. -

That was the best Groovitron video I could find. -

Quote:As I said in another thread, I've never seen anything that said Anti-Matter is Raymond Keyes. As far as I know, he's just the Preatorian version of Positron, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are the same person from two different dimensions.Last time I checked, the Praetorian Raymond Keyes is Anti-Matter, who is the Praetorian Positron, who is on Emperor Cole/Tyrant's side!
Do correct me if I'm wrong.
My personal (and completely baseless) theory is that Raymond Keyes will turn out to be the Preatorian Clockwork King, while Anti-Matter is someone else (possibly Ernesto Rodriguez AKA Black Scorpion on Primal Earth). -
I agree with the Mac Pack. The Valk pieces are really cool (especially the wings) and the Mish TP is invaluable.
A few things to keep in mind about the Mish TP though:
1) It only works on door mishes.
2) If you have multiple Mishes, pick the one you want to do and set it as the team task. If you don't, the TP may take you to the other mish. -
Quote:According to Paragon Wiki's page on Anti-Matter, Anti-Matter and Neuron created the Preatorian Clockwork together. So it looks like Neuron's involvment in creating the Clockwork is being retconned.I'm very interested in this as well because Neuron's minions are reminiscent of the Clockwork we've seen so far. But checking CoH wiki it does say that Anti-Matter created the Clockwork, I suppose that Neuron's minions were never actually meant to be Clockwork, they just resembled them.

Every time I hear "Video Killed the Radio Star" I think of the Television in Grandville.
I once reffered to M&M's as Inspirations. -
Quote:So It's official. The Preatorian Clockwork are made by Raymond Keyes (AKA Positron on Primal Earth). This leads to a bit of speculation:
The devastated population of the world was replaced in a matter of years by a race of loyal robots designed by Dr. Raymond Keyes that would become the backbone of a global workforce. This robotic force, the Clockwork, was always ready to work, always on time, and always precise.
Are Neuron's version of the Clockwork being retconned?
I could not find anything that officially said that Praetorian Raymond Keyes became Anti-Matter. Is it possible that Dr. Keyes is the Praetorian Clockwork King and someone else is Anti-Matter? -
I've been thinking about the Resistance pieces and the Preatorian Clockwork pieces and I came up with a theory of how they will be unlocked.
The Preatorian Clockwork pieces will be tied to a defeat badge (possibly defeat 100 Preatorian Clockwork) or a Task Force completion badge. I doubt they'd be unlocked for joining the Loyalists, since they would only fit tech-based characters.
The Resistance pieces will be unlocked by going through an "initiation" arc for the Resistance.
Another costume set (probably the Preatorian Police) will be unlocked by completing an "initiation" arc for the Loyalists.
It's just a theory, but it's plausible. -
Holy crap! I hope those are player costume pieces and not just NPC ones! And is it just the lighting or is his hair moving?
Man, I hope these pieces (and the Preatorian Clockwork ones) are available from the get-go and don't have to be unlocked. -
First, congrats on the promotion.
My question:
Hazard Zone revamping. Ever since Faultline, the Hollows, and the Rikti War Zone got revamped, players have been hoping for more. So are there any plans to re-do any of the other Hazard Zones? If so, which ones are you planning to do first? -
Congrats to WW and GF. And there's some fresh mea- I mean, new hires too! BTW, "The Television" is the best name for a redname EVER!
The words "End game content" made me giggle like a schoolgirl. Can't wait for future news! -
Quote:I have a mutated fish named Just For The Halibut. She's a Claws/WP Brute.Puns, portmanteau, and tounge-in-cheek names are all fairly easy to get, but a little harder to think up. For example, one of my friends created a man/fish hybrid named Manchovy. *shudder*
I'm one those people with an odd taste in names. Here's some the good ones (IMO, anyway).
Last Chancer - Mercs/Pain MM. Homage to the old version of Colonel Schaeffer's Last Chancers, a Warhammer 40K regiment. Got it on the first go.
Minutes to Madness - Grav/Earth Dom. Made her two nights ago, got the name on the first shot.
Chaos's Vision - Wanted Chaotic Dream, but it was taken. So I changed Chaotic to Chaos's and it was taken as well. Then I changed Dream to Vision and had it.
Tik Taq Toe - Stone/Shield Brute. Looks like intentional misspelling, but it's actually a slightly modified version of the name of a Lizardman special character from Warhammer.
Robotic Pirate Ghost - Elec/Dark Corr. In-joke I had with friends in high school.
As for the OP, I'm not sure what AT and powersets your character is, but did you try "Senseless Violence"? -
When I'm not playing as my 2 50's I have two characters I'm focusing on that have had "AH-HA!" moments recently.
Break Stuff, my Arachnos Soldier, actually had two. His first was when he got his second costume slot, and I came up with a great look for him. The second was after he hit 24 and became a Crab. The magic of the character faded after his powers changed, so I comented about it one the forums and following several suggestions I respeced him back into a Wolf Spider and I really enjoy playing him again. He has a great feel about him when I play. I imagine his fighting style as "I'm going to shoot you repeatedly, then bash your face in a few times, them shoot you some more just to make sure you're dead."
Kaos Blak, a Claws/Nin Stalker, had his "AH-HA!" moment a few days ago. I get to Port Oakes, complete my paper and Mayhem mishes, then pick a contact. I pick Angelo Vedetti, because it's been a long time since I took him. I get to the last mish of his arc and go "Oh ****, this is the Vampyr mish!" I don't know about you, but every time I do this mish my character gets beaten repeatedly and I end up either leveling a few times or dropping it to beat it. I go for it anyway, find the Vampyr, and take him down in about 30 seconds. After that, I want to level him some more and see what else he can take out! I'm still in the process of finalizing his bio. -
No one said this yet?
Personally, I'd use any of the following:

Can you tell I like that band? -
Most Fun:
Wide Area Web Grenade - While not too fantastic on its own, when combined with the rest of my attack chain (Venom Grenade, Frag Grenade, and Heavy Burst) it's brutally effective.
Propel - While my Gravity troller no longer exists, I want to try him again just so I can use this power. Nothing beat smacking a Hellion in the face with a car.
Lift/Levitate - I could mess around all day just launching unsuspecting dudes into the air. It's just fun to see how they land.
Gang War - Nothing says "Mastermind" like calling in a bunch of expendable thugs.
Assassin's [insert attack here] - Some of the animations aren't that good but all the Assassin's Strikes are great attacks and fit the concept of the Stalker very well. It's fun imagining the looks on a mobs faces as you suddenly appear and strike one if them down.
Least Fun:
Jump Kick - One of the lamest animations ever.
Black Hole - Took it once. Used it once. Respeced out of it immediately afterward.
Any Buff/Heal set that isn't on a Mastermind- I hate playing support. At least with a MM I can effectively solo and don't have to put up with people begging for buffs/heals. -
Scythe Melee for Stalkers. Just imagine how many Grim Reapers would be running around.
Pirate Summoning for Masterminds. There just isn't enough love for pirates in this game IMO.
Dual Axes for Tanks, Brutes, Scrappers and maybe Stalkers.
Comedic Control for Doms and Controllers. It would be a good Joker-like powerset. Cream pie in the face for hold, Silly String for an Immobilize, extending boxing glove for a stun, laughing gas for AoE hold, etc.
And, of course, Comedic Assault for Doms. This set would include some of the close ranged comedy routines like the eye poink (minor smashing damage, -accuracy), joy buzzer, acid flower (moderate Toxic damage, -res), Bananna peels (targeted AoE, slow, chance for knockdown every few seconds), and maybe some fish melee in there too.
Shield Melee for everyone that can currently use a Shield.
Proliferation:
Brutes: Ice Melee, Ice Armor
Tanks: Claws
Scrappers: War Mace, Battle Axe
Stalkers: War Mace, Battle Axe, Ice Melee -
I have a few. Yellow Chaos (Scrapper) and Kaos Blak (Stalker) are brothers and were a team of assassins until Blak switched sides. Yellow is searching for his brother to find out why he became a villain, and possibly kill him.
Robotic Pirate Ghost (Corr) is a crew member on the Paradox, the mechanical ghost ship piloted by Captain Blakstar (future Blaster). Blakstar comes to Paragon City and the Rouge Isles to find Captain Mako and challenge him to a duel. RPG sneaks off the ship and heads for the Rouge Isles to beat Mako before Blakstar can in an attempt to earn the Captain's favor. -
I used the "Revenent Hero Project" story arc. It has a mission that only spawns PP's, though the arc is kinda long (and contains several talk to missions and a Defeat 50 Crey mish). Once you get the Find Paragon Protectors Evidence mish, change your settings to -1/x whatever you can handle. Since the objectives are glowies, you can clear out the base, and if you don't get enough, reset the mish and go again.
-
I wasn't expecting all the feedback on my SoA comments. I actually made the character to be a Crab, but ended up enjoying him as a Wolf Spider. I'm going to track down a Huntsman guide and look it over, and I'll probably end up respecing him into a Huntsman.
-
My Arachnos Soldier. He was stuck at 8 for a while, mainly because I got tired of looking at his Arachnos armor. Then I learned that SoAs get a second costume slot at 10 so I started playing as him. He's a level 26 Crab Spider now.
TBH though, I kind of liked him as a guy with a gun, so I'm considering remaking him as a AR/?? Corr on another server. The only thing that's keeping me from doing that right now is the fact that I despise all the non-unlockable rifle models.
I could also never really get into Stalkers. I still have a couple, but they're all below level 10.
I've never had a Troller that I kept past 14. And I've never had a Dom that I kept past 10. -
A few I just remembered:
If you get too close to the Rikti Mothership while the shields are up the game will teleport you away from the ship. You will land directly on top of the Asunder badge marker. Great for finding the badge if it gives you trouble.
I always assumed that the Heart of the Hamidon badge was only obtainable when Hami was up. It's not. You can run into the Hive any time you want and grab the badge. Just beware of DE Monsters! -
Thanks. I had no idea you could do things like that with a bind. Definitely going to try that.
-
After about an hour of searching, I finally found the Developer Dungeon in GV. It's very well hidden.
Also, after reading this again I'm going to try some binds to make hunting easier on my badger. If I want to create a bind to search for Troll bosses, the command would be:
/bind t "target_custom_next enemy Ogre$$target_custom_next enemy Caliban"
Correct?
